I used SJ Equine for 13 plus years as loyal customer. They sent a new vet over who floated my horses teeth and fractured her jaw during the procedure. This is when their true customer service skills showed. I called letting them know and Dr. Newman was defensive and rude. He did not ask how my horse was or even say sorry. Just told me to contact a lawyer. Which was never my intention. I just wanted the new DVM to be taught correctly so no other horse is injured. I would never recommend their services. They have no customer service skills and no compassion for a family and horse they have known and taken care of for years. Do not use SJ equine associates - they won't be there when you need them. more

Dr. Newman gelded my horse in March, 2012. I was a bit concerned about a small lingering infection after the procedure. Dr. Newman came out immediately, checked my horse, and calmed a ""jewish mothers"" nerves. My horse was fine, but just to be on the safe side, Dr. Newman provided me with some antibiotics and bute. Everything worked out as it should have. Dr. Newman has been great to work with. He has been my horse's vet all from the day he was born, and will continue to be his vet for as long as I live in this area. more

Dr. Newman is a very considerate person. He returns calls promptly and he gets the job done. He cares for our broodmare and 4 colts. He always has the time to offer his expert opinion and is always willing to help. more

I have used Dr. Newman and Dr. Hanyi's services for over 10 years. I find them to be very knowledgable and responsive to our farm needs. They have performed several gelding of colts for us, as well as assisted with several pregnant mares. We take good care of our horses and the doctors notice that. They are honest about the prognosis in eahc case. Dr. Newman does stitches like a plastic surgeon! Dr. Hanyi saved my favorite horse from blindness in one eye. I would recommend them to anyone new to the area. more

This is to inform all of you that approximately two weeks after you had performed the gelding of my miniature horse at my property in Upper Deerfield, it was found lying dead on the ground. My horse was in perfect health before Dr. Newman carried out the surgical procedure. In addition, I followed post procedural procedures and precautions extremely thoroughly in order to prevent any medical complications , including making sure the incision healed, exercise, longeing, and application of SWAT and antibiotic medication. As my stallion was four years old, this was not the appropriate age to perform the gelding. In addition, I had to pay $200 for the animal removal, not to mention $360 for your service and $700 for the purchase of my horse. I thought it was necessary for Dr. Newman as an equine veterinarian to be aware of this most unfortunate incident. more
