The Best Movers is Remarkable Movers \r First started looking for a moving company on mover reviews since I felt we had a difficult move ahead. We have many antiques that, if damaged, cannot be replaced. We also had 3,000 sq.ft of home that we had lived in for 15 years to move. To make everything more difficult, we were not taking everything. We were moving what we wanted to keep and leaving the rest until we vacated the house in a few months. When the estimator from Remarkable Movers called to give us a quote, he had to really look beyond what was in each room since some of it was going and some not. And, to make everything better, he told me my 14"" long long-arm quilting table could be moved intact instead of breaking it down into parts. This has saved me many, many hours. The other moving companies I contacted told me that they would have to charge me the same amount it would cost to ship a boat to have it moved in one piece because of it's size. The estimate came in as the highest of the three I called for. The companies were Allied, United, and Wheaton. However, the final cost was the lowest of any of the estimates once \r they had weighed the truck. The part of this move I most appreciate was that even though I had said I would do part of the packing, I realized I was not going to be able to do it all. I called the company. They sent out people a day ahead of schedule who immediately went into each room with me and started organizing what I had already done, and continuing on. Since the main problem was that I was running out of space in the house, they brought the moving van out a day early also so we could put the packed things into it creating more space in the house just to see where we were at!!! They went through each room several times to determine what we were taking and what was to be left. They were cordial, polite, and had a sense of humor. Remarkable Movers was great. When they arrived at our new house, they unpacked, stacked, and did everything they said they would do. I do not own stock in this company and I have to thank epinions for making me aware they exist. I would definitely recommend Remarkable Movers using them especially if you are in the Brooklyn or New York Area. Our Driver was Mike and the Estimator was Frank Lenore. Great company, I used them twice\r Our family moved twice in two years using New York Movers both times. The first time we were covered under a corporate move and the second we paid for personally. Therefore, I think we have an excellent perspective of this vendor under two common scenarios.\r To aid in the assessment of New York Movers, I have evaluated the company on several key criteria: ESTIMATION PROCESS- In our most recent move, which we paid for ourselves, we had several professional national vendors come out to give us estimates. After hearing horror stories on the news, we felt more comfortable going with a larger company. But which one? New York Movers had moved us once before and their estimate was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. (In fact, Mayflower was most expensive, coming in approximately 15% higher than NY Movers) The individual that provided the estimate was very professional, efficient and more than willing to bind the quote +/- 10%. This appears to be an industry standard among the nationwide vendors. PROFESSIONALISM OF MOVERS- The first time we moved, the corporate vendor of choice was Remarkable Movers. Their crew packed us and loaded our belongings in their trucks. The crew was fast but less professional than we would have hoped. Specifically, they rode some of our biking equipment though our hallways but most importantly they did not provide us with the high-value inventory sheet. Fortunately, there was no damage by the moving company to our home during the move-out process. In contrast, however, we found New York Movers to be very professional, efficient and courteous. Though they did not pack us, they did an excellent job of loading our belongings. This is the third time we've used New York Movers - Certified Movers and it has just confirmed how great of a moving company they are. Their sales rep, Erika Lonuse , was wonderful to work with who always responded in a timely and professional manner. We had to change our move date the day before we were scheduled to move and Maria made it happen and took care of all the necessary steps. Last week I used New York Movers - Certified Movers for the first time. It was my second time ever moving so I didn't have any idea how to prepare. I called in and got a quote. They was very nice and helpful. They were attentive to what I needed, so they could offer me the knowledge that I didn't have. I also received advice on how to save money on packing and how to expedite the move as quickly as possible. The movers showed up on time, just like I had been told. I was pleased with how well the received tips worked. The move went flawlessly. The movers were experience and polite. It went really quick and my house looked put together when they left. I felt like I could settle in the same night. I would even recommend these guys to my mother with confidence they would treat her the same way they treated me. I need a Movers to serve my needs when it comes to moving from one place to another. I have a lot of old furniture that used to belong to my grandmother and has been in my family for generations now and I can't even imagine the possibility of it ever getting damaged as I want to save it for my granddaughter. I found Certified Movers through a google search and pretty much chose them because their prices were far superior to anyone else out there.  What I didn't expect was such a high quality of service. That's not to say I had low expectations, but since I knew nothing of them before this experience, I really didn't know what to expect. Believe me when I say that they didn't disappoint.   They sent 4 of the hardest working, careful, pleasant and most importantly, concerned individuals to take care of my move. By concerned I mean that they were genuinely concerned with keeping everything scratch/damage free.  They take a lot of pride in doing a top notch job, doing it quickly, and doing it right.   When you combine that with the best prices around, I can honestly say I'd recommend Certified Movers to anyone and everyone moving in this area. more

I moved a 200 sq ft Condo from Upper East Side to BPC Area... They sent a crew of 4 men. All were wearing uniforms and were very polite. It was 27 degrees outside that day so I didn't mind that they took a break. They took it off of my bill, of course. The think that left the best impression on me is they took really great care with my belongings. My furniture probably isn't work a whole lot of money as far a retail goes, but it has been in my family a very long time. I was very much impressed with Certified Movers. The professionalism, the positive attitude and the hard work was beyond my expectation. They really took their time to explain the moving process from my TriBeca Condo to Park Ave to a Building without an elevator and the rate to me so by the end of the day I didn't have any unexpected surprises. They handled all my belongings with gentle care especially my fragile items and I liked it very much. If I would move again and I hope I will not anytime soon I will use them again. more

""IT WAS A PLEASURE!!! After moving quite a few times in the past, and having problems each and every time, I decided to use New York Movers after a friend of mine recommended them to me. Even though they were fully booked on the day I requested, they made a huge effort to move me on that same day in the afternoon. I was told I would have a move crew of 3 men at 8:00 am and I would be contacted if there were any delays. By 7:55 am the crew arrived and started moving my belongings. All my furniture was wrapped with blankets and could tell that the movers really cared. I have heard about movers that demanded a tip but my movers didn't even mention it. Everything arrived in the same condition it was when it was loaded on the truck and was put in the rooms I asked them to. They disassembled and reassembled my beds and tables and protected my glass items (they charged extra for glass items to be wrapped but I was aware of this prior to the move). By the time the move was over it was 3:00pm and the movers were patient and continued working right till the end. I was a little afraid with the hourly rate charge (how could I know that they wouldn't just take their time and work slow?), but the movers worked hard from start to end. In other words, IT WAS A PLEASURE!!! # ??? Finally, a moving company that cares! Both my wife and I have dealt with many moving companies over the years, but we agree that the move yesterday was by far the best. The crew did an amazing job. They were courteous, pleasant and very professional. Reserved a truck with 4 movers on short notice. They showed up on-time, worked fast and efficient (5th story w/ busted elevator to 4th floor walk-up). All of our furniture was securely wrapped- and everything arrived intact, including the dishes I had haphazardly packed. Guys were a pleasure to work with and this was a smooth transaction all the way. \r \r Reasonable rates even after a hefty tip that they more than deserved. Got quotes from other ""top"" moving companies and their rates were double. New York Movers is professional, reliable and great to work with. THis is the first time I got movers and I was annoyed at how expensive some of the other quotes were. Thankfully I relied on the reviews posted here and called up for a quote. It was affordable and stress-free. They were flexible with the amount of boxes I expected to have and they were polite at all times. The movers arrived on time, did their job and left without incident. They worked hard and never came across as threatening or sketchy. I never write reviews but I felt this company deserved the praise. I highly recommend New York Movers ! more
