Good: It was wonderful to be able to go into a place like this and actually be able to see/feel/pickup items right on the spot. It is true you can get all this stuff online, but when you buy online, you can't tell if something is well made or sturdy or just feels right in your hand. The staff was very helpful (at the register and in the store aisles.) There was a man and woman sitting at a table behind the register, but they were quiet and did not interact with the customers.. Bad: I didn't like the no return, no exchange policy. I purchased over $100 worth of items, one of which was a cupcake holder for $24.99. The following week, saw the same Wilton holder at Party City in NJ for $12.50 (at regular price, not sale priced). I realize that overhead in NYC is higher than NJ, but 100% higher? Seems not right...but then again, most folks would have returned the $24.99 one if they could...so maybe that's the reason for the policy.. Improvements: I would like the store to have a return/exchange policy on non-perishable goods. Next time I go back I feel like I should do a window shopping run first, do some price checks, and then buy only those items that are priced within reason - but that would be a waste of my time, and might stop me from going back again unless I really just wanted to go in there for something I'm sure I can't get elsewhere.. Other: There have been a lot of reviews about surly customer service, and I was somewhat disappointed not to find the "Who's next?!!!" guy...hey folks, this IS New York...I didn't find the service to be any worse than most other places, and in fact, I was helped by two different women who were very responsive, and who physically led me to the items I needed/requested. I wouldn't call either of them overly smiley or anything like that, but they did what mattered in a very polite, no-nonsense manner..
