Worst

As far as NC bagels are concerned these are OK. I moved here from Brooklyn about 3 months ago and to compare these bagels to NY bagels is a total joke. Believe me, they are nothin...

DISGRACEFUL Customer Service 3/13/2012

The only thing that seems to be be consistant in this place is the terrible customer service. I will never set foot in the place again after the way the owner treated me last week. He basically told me I had a bad attitude because HE couldn't get my order right. He said he had to follow what the computor was telling him to do (?). No wonder the place was empty mid morning! Has anyone else reported this guy to the BBB? more

Rude, Overcharged for Food 3/3/2012

This was by far the worst experience I've had with a business. I ordered food for 24 people. The salad tray I ordered had a 1 small scoop of egg salad, tuna salad and chicken salad and literally 7 pieces of lox. No where near enough to feed 24 people. Not to mention according to their own prices, the amount of food they provided cost less than half of what they actually charged for me. When I called to inform them of the problem, the owner was unbelievabley rude, refused to resolve this situation, and hung up on me! I would never use this business or recommend them to anyone. more

Great Bagels 11/3/2011

I was surprised by the poor reviews they have had here. I have been going to this place for quite a while. I have never found the staff to be unfriendly. Quite the contrary they have been pleasant and sometimes entertaining. The only thing I buy is the bagels. They are consistently great. Im not from NY but lived there for a few years. Give it a try and make your own opinion. more

Dissapointing 6/13/2011

My co-workers and I saw the good reviews and went to try it out. What a mistake! This place was nothing like NY. The staff had attitudes and it was dirty. Needless to say the four of us walked out and went to the sub shop up the block. Go only if you like flies on your food and attitudes. more

Bring Bug Spray 6/13/2011

First of all, just because you put the letters NY in front of your name does not mean you are anything like a NY product, whether is bagels, pizza, bakeries etc. This place is no different. First of all when you walk in you are greeted by a swarm of flies, then they go back and sit on the exposed bagels and breads. Even in NYC bodegas I have never seen such filth! If this place was anywhere near NY it would be shut down. The tables and chairs are filthy and greasy with the flies eating the crumbs off the tables. Should be closed down by Health Department. You are better off going to Brueggars Bagels or Harris Teeters and getting bagels from there. At least they are sanitary and you know what your getting. Do not waste your time or money and you might save yourself from catching an infection. more

Gone downhill 3/6/2011

This place has gone downhill. Used to be good. Haven't seen the owners in there for a while. Agree that the staff is rude and customer un-friendly. Tried to get my sandwich on a hard roll and 3 weeks in a row and they don't have any. How can you call yourself a deli and be out of rolls by 11:00? The answer I received is I have to get there earlier. Wrong answer. Asked for a pastry and they threw some paper around it and hapazardly jammed it in the bag with my bagel. This place needs some serious attention. more

seriously rude...and I'm a New Yorker 11/17/2010

Crazy Rude staff, and even after writing my order down and taking 1/2 hour (yes 30 minutes) to make 3 sandwiches, still messed up 2 of them. Prices are way too high for the poor service and gamble you take that they'll get your food right. Also, not the cleanest place I've ever seen. more

poor service, prices a little high 11/17/2010

Update, received another unsolicited email from the owner, Tommy, who said ""Hope you'll find better bagels and service at Bruggers"" um, I only bought sandwiches, I don't even like bagels, you spelled Brueggers wrong, and yeah, great customer service once again! I am not sure what happened to this place, used to love it, but last 2 times, service was really poor and soooo slow, food was just ok, and prices were pretty high. $12.95 for an egg salad? And they forgot pickles and chips, which I paid for, for 5 sandwiches. I did email the owner, but got back a rude reply saying it was my fault for not making sure the chips were in the bags, and my fault for not questioning the price, when the prices were not posted. Unfortunately, will not be going back. more

Cold and Rude Staff, Expensive Prices, Hated the Bagels 9/30/2010

This place has the rudest workers I have ever met. They are either very rude when they wait on you or simply just lack being kind to any degree at all. The first time that I went, a guy who appeared to be the owner was very, very rude to me to the point of being intimidating. I felt like I had to go out of my way to work with him vs. the other way around. I decided to give the restaurant one more try which was a mistake. This restaurant doesn't have any kind of customer service skills or just basic warmth towards their customers at all. They move you along like cattle and act as if they are exasperated for having to deal with you. They never smile, say thank you for coming or make you feel welcome to any degree. Their bagels (not exaggerating) were the grossest ones that I have every had as they had no taste and just seemed to be blown up like big balloons. Finally, with all this, I have to say that this place is outrageously expensive. I will never return there again and wish I could say these very same words in person to see if the owners had any degree of awareness surrounding themselves. more

Finally a good bagel...and lunch too. 8/16/2010

I just found this place, even though they have been there for years. It is right next to my new place of work. I moved out of NY 15+ years ago and all about gave up on finding a good bagel around here...until today. Even at 1:30pm in the afternoon the bagel I got was better than most the chain stores can do fresh. The bagel was a treat as I really went in for lunch...got a chicken parm sandwich which was so worth it. I now have a new place to grab a bite in the morning as well. Try them, you'll like it. more

I love this place 6/2/2010

This place is delicious. It feels like New York. I guess no ones reviewed it in a while, but its a great place to get bagels and yummy Italian desserts. I make excuses to head out to Cary just to stop by. I'm moving soon to Cary and I am hoping it will be nearby! Pros: Delicious Cons: Its not close to my house more

DO NOT GO HERE 11/3/2009

My co-workers and I have been here several times and every time they manage to mess up our orders. Today we called ahead to place our order over the phone since we had a big order ahead. When we called the lady that answered the phone proceeded to tell us that she was too busy to take our order and we would have to come in. So we did, when arriving they screwed up 2 of our sandwhiches. We ordered 2 reubens and ended up with two plain bagels with cream cheese. Not to mention the salad was very skimpy..sandwhich cheese sliced, turkey/ham lunchmeat shredded..i do NOT recommend this place. They have a very bad attitude Cons: customer service, incorrect order most of the time more

Caryite90 are you that much of a doormat? OMG! 6/23/2009

Caught them on a bad day? That's an excuse for treating customers that way and slamming a door in their face? That incident had nothing to do with the fact that they ran out of Taylor Ham. I was there and NO customer should have to witness the owners ""verbal assault on his staff"". That is no way to run a business! How about you give me a break! If thats an environment you would like to enjoy a meal in then I guess go for it, you deserve it! He was out of line and embarrassing! I dont give a sh*t if he's from NY or not, you respect your customers. Whatever happened to customer service? Pros: They have taylor ham Cons: Owner needs to learn how to run a business, Customer Service more

OMG eddied01...R U guys that thin-skinned ??? 6/18/2009

Good Golly Molly eddied01...yous and your wife that thin-skinned or what? Yes, you caught them on a bad day in short supply of your Taylor Ham, but crying about the owner's demeanor? Give me a Break! I've been in several times and have heard that boisterous, verbal assault on his staff...but that's just his character, for Pete's Sake...just enjoy your food and get over it. Pros: Good Sandwiches Cons: Owner has a NY BigMouth more

read this then decide if you want to go... 6/17/2009

My wife, 2 of our children and one of their friends, went to NY Bagel & Deli on Sunday, 5/24/09. This was my 3rd visit. We were returning again because they offer something that we can?t find at very many places in the Triangle: Taylor Ham on a Bagel. We had noticed on previous occasions that our sandwich preparer was not always too sure of how to make the bagel sandwiches but with help from other preparers and watchfulness and input on our part, the Taylor Ham sandwiches were finally prepared correctly. Pros: Taylor Ham on Bagel Cons: Customer Service more

Awsome Breakfast Sandwiches 5/25/2009

I LOVE this place! They make the best sausage & egg on a roll! They use authentic flat sausage patties which you can't find down here! Their pastries are awesome! The only downer is that if you get there too late, there's no bread left :(. And, their breads are fantastic! Pros: Real NY Flat Sausage Cons: Bread goes too fast! more

Great! 5/9/2009

This is favorite place to get breakfast. The bagels are always wonderful and fresh, the best around. I have tried all kinds of ""sweet treats"" from this place and I am never disappointed. The cannoli's are the best. This is a family owned and operated place and they are always so kind. Truly one of my favorite places. Pros: bagels, pastries, deli meats, staff more

New York Bagels a big disappointment 3/18/2009

my husband bought a dozen rye bagels today at my request. we haven't been to the shop in a long time and I was horrified to see that the bagels had been blown up to gargantuan size and the taste has been totally taken out of the product. the rye bagels used to be my favorite but these bear no resemblance to the ones we ate before nor to any bagel I can remember except H&H in NYC who did the same thing and ruined their product. what a shame! Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: bagels are not what they used to be more

DELICIOUS FOOD! 10/15/2008

I think these are by far the greatest bagels - and I grew up in NY! They are better than Rockland Bakery! The best Challah bread, the best Italian bread on the weekends and by FAR THE ABSOLUTE BEST bakery treats in the Triangle! The family owned atmosphere cannot be beat! Tommy & Josephine are always there with a smile- and sometimes so are their parents! The meatballs are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Oh, and the ruebens- best around! For a party I always get their subs by the foot- and there is never anything left! Every one of my guest raves about their subs- and ends up a customer of NYBDlll! Pros: Great food- great people more
