Editorial review from Citysearch 10/29/2012

Last Thursday my boss and I decided to grab a bite for lunch. He wanted to try New Peking Restaurant. I thought it might be a good idea since ive never been there and my boss usually has good tastes in restaurants. So we showed up around lunch time and the place was packed. We both ordered something off the lunch special menu. He ordered the Curry beef with onions and I ordered the Fried beef sandwich hold the buns. The waiter didn?t seem to like Americans too much nor did he take the time to learn English before or during his transition into our country. Putting that aside I was hoping my sandwich would be good. When he showed up with our food he had a very sneaky and suspicious smile on his face like he did something to our food. Putting that aside, we ate our lunch and left for the office. That?s when the real trouble started. I looked over at my boss and he was sweating like a slave. I knew I was in trouble because the diarrhea was moving from my stomach to my bowels. I tried to hold it in considering my boss drives a brand new Mercedes Benz but considering his condition I knew we wouldn?t make it back to the office in time. I immediately rolled down the windows to get some fresh air but knew that wasn?t going to help. When we made it to the office I literally ran for the elevator. Unfortunately there were 11 other people that got on and we were on the 20th floor. It seemed the elevator ride took almost an hour with all the stops and I knew the diarrhea was at the point of no return! As soon as the elevator doors opened I ran for the toilet! My pants were down as soon as the stall door opened. I literal shat my brains out! It was harrible! As soon as I was done, I tried to speak with my boss to explain to him what was going on but apparently he wasn?t lucky enough to make it in time. I left work and on the drive home I had to stop several times to use the toilet. I was completely dehydrated. I was in shambles. When I finally made it home my wife immediately knew I have food poisoning. She rushed me to DenGen to have my stomach pumped. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do but to tell me to stay hydrated. From there on, I?ve only been to two places in my house, the toilets or the back yard. I never made it to work today due to the diarrhea and dehydration. My wife wont let me sleep in our bed because of the gas. I have filed a complaint against the restaurant with the health department and the police. more

Don't ask for Delivery. I called three times. They told me twice that the delivery guy ""wasn't there yet"", finally the third time, they just said ""no delivery today"". What a waste of time. . . this has happened to me once before. I won't be ordering again. more

Best Chinese Food-Reasonably Priced 12/22/2008

I've been going to New Peking since the restaurant opened it's doors. I've moved across the city and back to Lakewood. The restaurant has the best chinese food I've eaten ... and I've tried several restaurants across Colorado. The food is fresh, tasty, always hot and never tastes like it's been sitting all day and reheated for dinner. We dine-in, take-out and get delivery. All four of us are allergic to fish and seafood, so we make sure we tell the wait staff what we are allergic to. Su - the everyday hostess/waitstaff knows us by site and recalls our standing order. Why mess with perfection when we eat the same thing almost every time we order? Su knows what we like, how we like it and keeps the details in her head. She may be 'subdued' with other patrons like the other reviewer wrote, but she is anything but subdued when we frequent the restaurant. The updates to the facility are quite nice, but when you really consider why you frequent a restaurant it's really more than atmosphere. Hands down the food is the best Chinese food I've ever had - from the hot and sour soup, fried rice, egg rolls to the lo mein, orange chicken without onions, scheshwan chicken or kung pao chicken. Top off the great food wtih a reasonable price and you get a happy and returning customer. I definately recommend New Peking if you are dining in Lakewood, CO. Pros: Taste, Price, Waitstaff more

Best Chinese food in Lakewood, or possibly all of Colorado 10/20/2008

I have been a customer of New Peking restaurant for at least the last decade and even though I live in Aurora now, I will drive 40 minutes just to go back to this restaurant. The restaurant is family owned and has beautiful decor including a pretty aquarium toward the front. Lets be honest, though... it's the food that matters and New Peking does not disappoint. With quite possibly the best sweet and sour sauce I've ever had (no packets!), amazing chow mein, eggrolls and soups this restaurant is a must for anyone who loves Chinese food. Nothing ever tastes like it's been sitting under a heat lamp for six hours, everything is always hot and fresh. Pros: incredible food, nice atmosphere Cons: waitstaff can sometimes be a little subdued/seem unfriendly but they are nice! more
