I dont know how to describe the wonderful experience i had at the nearly new shoppe. The staff was so helpful and nice and never once did i feel pressured or rushed about my decision. I actually went back three times to try on my perfect dress and they where wonderful each time. I found a Maggie Sottero dress that didnt fit but by the time there seamstress was finished it fit perfect. I was also very suprised at the price i got a $1500.00 dress that still had the tags on it for only 395.00 and with alterations it was under 450.00. I also ordered five brides made dresses for under 350.00 and it only took seven days for them to arrive. I just want to say thank you so much Nearly New and if you are thinking of buying an expensive dress check at the nearly new first for quality and price. more

One of my favorite places to shop! And when I'm ready to rejuvenate my closet, this is my go to place. You know how it is, girls, it's sat in your closet for a year, and you haven't worn it, or you're ready to move on to something new... whatever, I figure somebody will love it or have more fashion know-how than I do, so I take it to NN.\r \r So, just call them up, make the appointment and let John or Hattie tell you how it works. It's pretty easy. Just remember to call them in sixty days after you drop off. It's great to collect a little something for the things you don't wear any more! more

Very BAD Experience- Its unfortunate that the owner of the store is the person that provides terrible customer service. His rude behavior and attitude toward customers as if they are a bother to him is beyond believe. I agree with the other consumers that have expressed their displeasure about this store. I will never shop at this store. Maybe he didn't get the memo: First rule of customer service be polite to your customers..if you want customers. I will never never ever shop in his store and I will let all my friends family and church members know that he is rude and dishonest. more

Do NOT sell your dresses here! The worker did not put my inventory correct. They missed one of my dresses. It wasn't in the store either. So they sold my dress and kept all the profit. That dress cost me $350! They also stole the shoulder straps of another dress. They will not do anything to fix their mistake. Once again do not sell your dresses here or if you do, be very careful and know they may not pay you for everything you bring in that gets sold. more

BEWARE!!!II am not one to go on the internet and write negative reviews. However, I was HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED in my experience and felt like it was important to let others know. I left two coach purses, both retailing for $300 each and in mint condition. I had the original paper tags stating their retail price, the original coach bag covers, all original coach ""dog tags"" and even the actual receipt for one of the purses.\r \r When I brought them in I stood there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to help me. There was a gentelman behind the counter and he never once asked to assist me. I finally asked him, he happened to be the owner, John. John, took the bags and specifically requested that I leave the original receipt because it would help with the sell. I crossed my name off & allowed him to keep it along with everything else. He gave me no receipt for my items. I had to ask him about the store policies. At that point I should have just gone with my gut feeling and not left my items. \r \r I called about 30 days later to see if either of the bags had sold and he said he couldn't tell me.I would just have to come back in when my 60 days was up and if they had sold he would give me a check then. I found that to be VERY ODD! He couldn't tell me if the either bag had sold? Really?!?! He entered both into a computer!\r \r I finally went back 20 days later to pick up a check or my bags. One bag had sold & one hadn't. I opened the bag that hadn't to make sure the original tags and receipt was there. The receipt was missing. I asked him about it and he said "" I don't know, we don't usually keep those because they have peoples name on them."" I reminded him that HE asked me to leave leave it & told me to cross my name off. He acted like he could care less. He didn't apologize. He didn't say he could look for it. Nothing!!!! He was annoyed that I even asked about it!!!!! My check for the (1) $300 purse was $46. He didn't tell me the day that it sold, so I don't know that I even received the true percentage that was due me. These were NICE purses. While I was standing there to leave them, there were people already looking at them before he could even tag them.\r \r I just felt a HIGH LEVEL OF DISHONESTY! I know people like to shop there and find great deals. However, I WOULD NOT recommend selling anything there. I promise you will regret it. more

Great Selection! 5/8/2012

I grew up shopping in Nearly New with my mom and hadn't been in for a while. I was pleasantly surprised! It looks totally different inside; love the remodel. It's huge! The owner was really helpful. I found a great new dress that didn't bust the bank. He also has shoes and purses and a ton of men's clothes upstairs. This is definitely one of my new faves:) more

Love the selection 4/22/2012

I am new to OKC and had been wanting to stop in this store, as it's on my way to work. Wow! I was surprised at the inventory! There are purses, scarves, shoes, everything a girl could want. It's a great place to find stylish and affordable professional clothes and accessories for work. If you're needing to enhance your professional wardrobe, this should be first on your list. I found some really cute blazers and shoes to wear to the office. Very helpful! And I did notice they have a big wedding gown area, too. The guy who works there told me it's the only place to find consignment wedding gowns in Oklahoma. That's kinda cool:) more

Favorite Consignment Store 4/12/2012

This is my favorite consignment store in OKC. It's the only place to find good quality, high-end consignment clothing. Love the selection of formals - some couture. And they have great purses and jewelry at fair prices. And the dog's cute too! more

I ran across this Yelp review and 4/10/2012

I ran across this Yelp review and thought it would be helpful... This OKC landmark opened in 1966, and in all the years I 've lived here, I've never been in. I've seen them popping up on Twitter lately and thought it was high time they had a Yelp review, so I popped in yesterday. Very impressive, for a couple of reasons. It's clear they work very hard to run this like a boutique. For the most part, they only have things out that are seasonally appropriate, and they separate everything out by type of clothing. There are few enough pieces in each size that it is not overwhelming. You can see what your options are, pick a few, and it seems manageable. I know you've been to TJ Maxx or Ross where there are like 4,000 size medium rayon-blend blouses in varying shades of coral and you just can't even wrap your mind around what you're seeing. This is the opposite. The flip side is you may not find something. But I'd rather have the fun of looking and not finding something than be so overwhelmed by options that I take 40 things to try on and get overwhelmed. Also- and this is big for me - and also stems from a TJ Maxx induced psychosis-- there aren't too many things stuffed onto a too-short rack. You can look at a piece, push it a good distance off to the side, and get a good look at the next item. So much better than the cram-bam-thank-you--m'aam you find at other consignment and discount stores. They have a large space but the racks are spread out. it feels curated rather than sardines packed into every square inch of real estate. I like to be a fly on the wall and listen and observe. They were nice and helpful to everyone that came in there while I was there, and I imagine their clientele includes everything from Nichols Hills ladies bringing in the spoils from their latest closet overhaul to single moms trying to support a family and look nice for work. It's cool they can work with everyone and give them what they need and make them feel good in the process. Also- I LOVE the big bridal section. That almost warrants a separate review. I've never been married, but the idea of spending thousands on a dress just kinda makes me want to open a vein (and is just simply not my reality or my style) But the idea of getting a dress that someone else paid thousands for, that was only worn for a few hours, in exchange for a few benjamins, that sounds fantastic. (If Mr K reads this, I want to be clear- I DID NOT TRY ON ANY OF THE DRESSES. I only looked. And not wistfully or anything- it was research. For a review!) Seriously ladies, look through my pictures and tell me that dress on the model would not make for a beautiful wedding gown? I won't tell you the price, but just trust me it was a deep discount! All in, if you haven't checked this place out, you must. more

Fantastic store 3/12/2012

Since I live in Broken Arrow, OK it never made sense to consign anything there, so I can't speak from that angle. I've never had any negative feelings going into the store or any signs of dishonesty. My girlfriend is a native of OKC and she's the one that showed me the store on one of our numerous visits. The selection is 'just right' for my tastes. While I have found Polo, Brooks Brothers, Daniel Cremieux and other top brands at my local Goodwill stores, it's hit-or-miss on the condition, plus they lack the service of Nearly New. At Nearly New, I do pay a bit more ($10 vs. $5), but never have to worry as to whether the garment needs close scrutiny. Every article of clothing is clean, pressed and very neat in appearance. Before anyone asks, I was not paid to give the store 5 stars nor do I know the owner personally (I didn't even know his name was John until I read the other reviews). He's always been friendly to me on my trips there, so that's all I can base my own personal experiences on. more

Just a gut level feeling of dishonesty 2/23/2012

I took in a fur coat to be sold, and it did. However, the owner John would never tell me how much it had sold for. He told me twice over the phone that the computer was only a POS (Point of Sales computer) and that he could only find that information out from the computer in the back. He just told me to come in and he would give me a check. I joking said that his POS computer was a ""piece of sh*%"" computer if it could not tell me how much my check would be for. He did not find the humor in my comment and just insisted I come by to pick up my check, presumably because he did not want to spend the money on a stamp and envelope. When I did go in, he amazing looked at the computer up front...you know that POS computer that I was told could not access that information and wrote me out a check! Buy this time, I did not ask about why he could not tell me the amount over the phone, because it was obvious to me that he did not want to tell me. The check he cut me was a lot less than the estimated 40% of original estimated sale price of this item. There was just a gut level feeling that John was not honest and up front in his dealings. This will be my first and last experience there. more

Consignors - Be Careful 1/20/2012

I hope others will learn from my mistake. Just over a year ago, I took a group of very nice formal/prom dresses (small sizes) to sell. I did read my contract and knew that it was my responsibility to contact Nearly New after 60 days, but I completely forgot until recently. Admittedly, my mistake. I knew that the store had probably not kept any of the dresses that did not sell, but I wanted to find out how many of the dresses had sold and if I could still receive my check. When I called, I was told that none of the dresses had sold and all had been donated to charity after 60 days. I have a very hard time believing that not even one of the dresses sold. They were all current styles, excellent quality, and in very good condition. Some were unworn and still had tags on. However, I have to take the store at their word because there was no way to verify what did or didn't sell. My advice to prospective consignors would be to make a detailed list of what you take to Nearly New and be absolutely sure that you contact them at the end of your 60 day selling period. Otherwise, you may not be paid for any of your items that do sell. more

Lots of Gifts - Good Clothing Selection - Needs More Shoes 12/8/2011

Nearly New could use more shoes, but the clothing selection is out of this world. And jewelry and other gifts here save me a lot of money. more

I like the location and the prices. 12/8/2011

Run, don't walk. Actually - drive. They're in a good location. I like that it's just up from the Western Avenue District. I can skip the mall, get decent food in the area (now there's a Whole Foods) and still shop til I drop, but without blowing my credit card limit. more

Good for BOTH Men and Women 12/8/2011

The men really get by well here, which means you can bring the boys and go shopping for yourself without worrying they're bored. more

Good suits, Good Daughter Clothes 12/8/2011

Prom dresses are vastly, vastly better than what I can get for twice the cash at the mall. Frankly, if you have a daughter, and are on a budget, you don't want to go anywhere else for stuff like that. Sportcoats and suits too - you can look like an exec for cheap. more

Killer Purse Selection 12/8/2011

If I can't find a deal on Vuitton here, it doesn't exist in OKC. Killer, killer purse selection. more

Beware of OVERCHARGE or DOUBLE CHARGE 12/3/2011

OWNER IS SNEAKY! I have shopped in this store off and on for years. I have been overcharged on numerous occasions but really didn't start checking my receipts until a few years ago so who knows how many times I was overcharged. Also, my credit card was run through twice (in excess of $200). I had to call to get them to cancel one of the charges. Anything designer is marked very high and the tags are clipped so they can't be reduced. This is a new policy as they used to mark down all of their clothing. They have a different policy now. It's too bad. Years ago, it was a great store to shop in. NO MORE. more

Item lost 6/3/2011

Took 5 evening gowns and one wedding veil in to the shop 60 + days ago! Just picked up yesterday. Nothing was sold. But my wedding veil is missing. I knew what I brought in. They said they didn't have it. I knew it was there and got sold.. Beware when you take items in. He won't write up the list there and then. When you're picking them up go fishing. I didn't make any sales but at least don't steal from me. What a bad reputation, snob and stupid systems. more

Don't bother 4/15/2011

Wow...a 2 week wait to get an appointment to consign your clothes. Another store got me in the same day! With busy schedules, you should be more flexible...I'll do my business elsewhere, consigning and buying! more
