Was Great B4 Renovations; Probably Will Be After - Not Now 2/9/2010

I reluctantly gave this hotel 2 stars, because before their ridiculous pseudo-MadMen meets Wine Country retro redeux renovation (how ya like me now, alliteration!), this hotel was wonderful. The staff, mind you, still is. It's not their fault the owners are renovating. But we stayed there last Saturday on one of those, yanno, ""package"" deals for $99, which included 3 bottles of wine and 3 free tasting passes to local wineries. Most hotels will give you the passes if you ask for them, so we weren't really in it for those. We were not told upon booking the hotel that there would be construction going on, nor when we checked in. Apparently their idea of letting people know was handing you a letter (which we didn't get, ironically) on checking in...despite the obvious designated ""taped off"" areas after getting through the lobby. We just thought--Oh--Construction--that's why we got a $99 rate. We *were* handed a letter, though. Just not about the construction. It told us we'd be getting two half-bottles (hey--who chopped my wine in half?! I was promised a full wino experience, darn it!) and one (cough, Kendall Jackson...all the way in Healdsburg) full bottle. Not only that, but the letter indicated we had to go to all these wineries in order to GET the two half-bottles and one full bottle, at opposing ends of wine country. Considering we were only staying one night, we'd already mapped out what wineries we wanted to visit. Lets face it--we booked the package for the wine bottles (and the cheapy wino rate). If you are promising your winos wine bottles on check-in, it should be in the form of a bottle, not a paper IOU. Or at least let us know it's an IOU when booking. I've stayed in hotels under construction before. It can be a little noisy, but nothing you can't sleep through. Unfortunately, they checked us into the ONE room that was DIRECTLY UNDER the bombing of Hiroshima. At the ungodly (and un-wino-ly) hour of 6:30-7am, we woke to banging, hammering, sawing, grinding, and various other loud booms. When we called the front desk, they said ""Oh, didn't you get the letter when you checked in?"" Um. No. They did give us $25 credit on our bill, and said they'd have them stop the noise...but it continued. All the way through Noon, and check-out. And we never did get the wine. :( Pros: Decent chow for a hotel; farm fresh ingredients, local Cons: Currently ""under construction"" through March. LOUD. more

Loved the Spa in Napa 11/13/2009

A group of us girls just recently traveled to Napa for spa treatments & wine tasting. The Amadeus Spa was FABULOUS! I had a body massage by Mercer, OUT OF THIS WORLD! My friends loved their massages too. The girls at the front desk were very inviting & friendly to us. Loved the comfy robes. Great place to visit. Pros: Great Place to Relax Cons: Nothing on this trip more

Best Relaxing Spa in Napa 2/4/2009

We enjoyed our spa treatments at the Amadeus Spa. The therapists are highly skilled and friendly. Everyone at the spa from the desk to the relaxation room were the best! They also have an outside courtyard where we enjoyed an afternoon nap after our massage and facials. Next time we will use their gym before booking the couples suite. If you are looking for a ""home base"" while visiting the wine country this is THE place. Pros: Service, Parking, more

I've stayed here for the past two years for the Napa Marathon. Rooms are nice, staff is wonderful. The location is perfect, right off Highway 29. Will definitely stay again more

Good place to Lounge 1/20/2009

This is a good sit down and have a cocktail bar. The staff is great and it is a relaxed professional atmosphere. I recommend it for people just looking to relax chat and have a drink. This isn't a rowdy party bar. It has a great menu and serves food till 11 which most places in Napa stop serving food by 10. Just remember it's inside the Marriott!! Pros: 4 big screens, friendly service, mello ambience, good food, 1 pool table Cons: Not a loud rowdy or cheap bar. No loud music or dancing more

This place is not worth your money. 7/22/2005

My husband and I recently visited this spa for a full day of pampering, but that's not what we got. The massage therapist seemed like amateurs. It literally just felt like someone ran their hand across our bodies. There were areas where they neglected to massage. It didn't feel like they wanted to give the massage. I've been to several spas and this is definitely not how you massage people. The pedicure was mediocre. I could have gone to our local nail shop and receive the same treatment for less. My toenails were poorly polished (smears everywhere) and they weren't even cut evenly. I have to say the only thing we enjoyed was the facial. Angela is wonderful!!! The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is great. Other than that I don't recommend coming here for a massage or nail services. Pros: Friendly, Clean Cons: Pricey more
