Best

Nancy's catered my wedding last month, & they did an amazing job! The food was so delicious & abundant. Gorgoeus fruit trays (carved birds from apples...I mean all out), pork me...

Worst

The food isn't bad, but its not worth the trouble. No matter what time you go, expect to wait. Take it from someone who's actually lived behind this place, parking is pretty much...

Part Of my Childhood 6/27/2011

I love Nancy's and just thinking about the place makes me smile.. remembering the days when were kid and nothing to worry about sitting side by side with my close friends, and dining with my family... I still remember those and wanted my kids to have the same memory as I had with Nancy's, they still have the superb food and the warm ambience for family and friends. I hope eventually when my kids are grown ups they'll smile when they reminisce our times here in Nancy's. more

Wonderful catering 8/12/2010

Nancy's catered my wedding last month, & they did an amazing job! The food was so delicious & abundant. Gorgoeus fruit trays (carved birds from apples...I mean all out), pork medallions, vegetarian lasagna, fresh green beans with almond slivers (just to name a few). I heard so many people comment on how tasty the food was. The price was very fair, & Sheila is a sweetheart to work with. She even ""threw in as a happy wedding day gift"" our party favors...these cute little white boxes containing Jordan almonds. \r \r Thanks Nancy's! You are the best!\r \r -Gretchen & Shawn more

We missed you Nancy's!!!!!! 3/10/2010

I LOVE this place, had it once before they closed, I don't live far so I was happy I can walk here (but then they closed) I have been waiting the day once I heard they were opening again =) My fiancee gets a little annoyed with the un organization and the fact that they close at 2p.m. But I think it is worth the delicious food!!!! My favorite is the Beef & Noodles =p Thank You for coming back!!!!! Pros: Best Home Cooking at the Best Price Cons: Crazy Busy, Closes at 2pm =( more

YAY!! REOPENING FRIDAY 2/19/2010 YAY!!!! 2/16/2010

Thanks everyone for bringing Nancy's back. Clintonville just wouldn' be the same without it!\r \r Pros: great comfort food at very reasonable prices Cons: crowded at times more

Nancy's will be closing the end of May 2009 4/10/2009

It will be missed! Nancy's was a place for a good, hot lunch at a reasonable price. I never got to try the breakfast myself... but the $5 Noodle dish was amazing! Pros: Great price! Cons: It's closing... more

Great home cooked meal 9/28/2008

The food is great, its as close as your going to get to a home cooked meal in the campus area, which is why its so croweded and always chalked full of college kids (its sort of like a little peice of home). Parking is a bit rough, but then again 90% of the people going there walk from just a few blocks away so they really wont ever need to improve on parking. Itll be most packed on saturday and sunday (post party nights) during the school year so definitly expect a long line on those mornings...other then that you should be fine. The biggest down side to nancys is if your in a group even with one other person...they only bring 1 check a little more then inconvienient for a place getting that much business. If you live south of lane its a bit of a hike, but its worth it. If your south of 15th just drive there is actually PLENTY of parking in the area. You could swing over to blockbuster and park you wont get towed the parking lot is so big...and plenty of parking on East which is a half-a-block from nancys near papa johns. Pros: Good home cooked meal, not to expensive, good service Cons: Depening on the day a long line, no easy parking, Can only have 1 bill to a table, more

Slop on a plate not worth the wait. 6/4/2008

The food isn't bad, but its not worth the trouble. No matter what time you go, expect to wait. Take it from someone who's actually lived behind this place, parking is pretty much nonexistent. Do not park in the lots behind Nancy's, you will be towed, it's for residents ONLY. For some reason, even the owners/employees of Nancy's would repeatedly ignore this, even after several friendly requests not to do so. That to me shows a high level of disrespect to the people of their community. If you're in the mood for driving in circles for 20 minutes trying to park for some slop on a paper plate - have at it. Pros: they have food Cons: nothing special more

The closest thing to home and only $5 6/14/2007

I was a little skeptical to try Nancy's, not because I thought the food wasn't good, but because it's always so busy. A bit of advice: try it in the summer when OSU is on break. Trust me, the food will be just as good and you won't have to wait or be hurried out. Monday and Thursday the special is chicken and noodles and the portions are more than you can eat. Pros: Great service, Great food, Cheap Cons: You might have to wait for a seat more

What a joint! 4/26/2007

My wife and I tried this little jem for breakfast the other morning and found it to be everything we'd imagined. The atmosphere, the freindly staff, and the great grub makes this place one to come back to. If you're looking for gourmet cuisine...this ain't the place. If your looking for one of Columbus's hidden treasures...this is one of them. And the signage in the place is fantastic. I respect a place that tells you, ""If there's a line...EAT IT AND BEAT IT!"" Pros: An original ""greasy spoon"" that hasn't lost it's charm. Cons: Even if it gets crowded, it's worth the wait. more

5 bucks, unbeatable. 12/20/2006

Nancy?s is great. Down home food, atmosphere, people, wonderful. The garbage omelet is huge and tasty. The portions are large. The atmosphere is large. After eating in Nancy?s since the late 1960?s I have gained an appreciation for the character of this truly American love of life place. This small restaurant is in itself a large world. By the way - the owner?s name is Cindy. Pros: Fun, friendly, taste even better the more you eat there. Cons: Parking, the stupid curb bump-out in the street - city wasted our tax dollars. more

Best breakfast in town! 9/20/2006

Great breakfast!! The pancakes make your mouth water, the eggs are soft and fluffy, the bacon is so crisp. You will wait awhile so come with friends to make the time pass. The food is a really good price too! Pros: Excellent food Cons: The wait more

Great Chicken Noodles on Thursdays - Cash Only! 11/10/2005

I've been there once on a Thursday and I'm hooked to the chicken noodle dinner they serve on Thursdays and all for $5. I would certainly recommend this place. I am yet to try the garbage omlette which I hear is really good. But keep in mind that they only accept cash. The food is well worth the trip to the ATM. Pros: Tasty Chcicken Noodle, good value Cons: ambience more

Good Ma and Pop Joint! 10/11/2005

The service was wonderful! However, you cannot dine at Nancy's if you like to chat after dinner because space is limited so you have to leave once you are finished. The food is delicious and at lunch time all you need is 5 bucks. Pros: Good Eats, Cozy atmosphere Cons: Limited seating more

WE DROVE 125 MILES JUST TO EAT HEAR 8/31/2005

I LIVE IN CINCY AND IN AUG 05' WE DROVE UP TO TRY A GARBAGE OMELET AND SOME CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE DRIVE. I WISH THEY WERE IN CINCINNATI SO THAT I COULD BE A REGULAR. I'VE BEEN SPOILED AND WILL ONLY EAT BREAKFAST IN COLUMBUS AT NANCY'S. Pros: EAT IT & BEAT IT, TASTY FOOD Cons: GOT TOO FULL TOO FAST, PAPER PLATE more

Nancy's Home Cooking 6/13/2004

Nancy's Home Cooking is a restaurant that makes you feel like you're in ""mom's kitchen"". The food is great, as is the service and the price. The best part of it is that you feel like you are with family and friends...even if you have never met the other customers sitting next to you. I give Nancy's two thumbs up! Pros: Inexpensive, Good food, Family Atmosphere more

Great place to eat breakfast 5/14/2004

Yes, It's a crowded little hole-in-the-wall but it's so friendly that you don't care that it's crowded. Ed & Nancy King make sure that everyone who gets in is accomidated. This place has the sort of atmosphere that can't be manufactured despite the efforts by those who operate the new-fangled ""Retro Diners"". I'm a native of Columbus who now resides in New Mexico. Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly, Good Food more

Wonderful Resturant 4/3/2004

This place Rocks! It is a greasy spoon without the grease. It is a very clean, welcoming, nice place to have breakfast. It has a great atmosphere. I would also reconmend the Garbage Omlett with home fries and sausage gravy. Only $5, and that's with a coffee! AMAZING! The best breakfast I've had in a long time! GO THERE! Pros: Inexpensive, Amazing Food, Nice people more

Garbage Omelette RULES !!! 9/6/2003

If you haven't try the garbage omelette I say you should go for it. It's the best omelette in town. You can also customize your meal , it doesnt have to be exactly like what the menu offers. Pros: Inexpensive, Mouth-watering, Prompt service Cons: Cramped, Warm, Insufficient parking more
