STAY AWAY from NYLO in PLANO 7/6/2011

In a word...HORRIBLE!!!! Stay away from this bar at NYLO Loft! These idiots overcharged me by $70 AFTER we left!!!! Who does that?? And then they didn't want to give it back. I called them for two days repeatedly. Finally THEY got a hold of the ""rightful"" charge owner and then decided to give me my money back. I told them that was stealing. I only signed off on $20 and they charged $88. You can't just charge whatever you want. They said oh yes they could!!!! I am currently trying to get a call back from the GM. The person I was in contact with was the Bar Director...Gregor. Some director....he sux, the bar sux, and the service is lousy! The waitress told us the wrong specials when we got there. That should have been the first sign for me to get out of their in a hurry. more

NYLO 9/7/2010

I went to NYLO with a group of friends on a Saturday night. I did have to valet because there was no parking. When I went inside, I liked the trendy feel and the big outdoor space. The drinks are about $7. But note: A few days after I went here my friend called me and gave me the number of their accounting person, apparently they had double charged all their credit cards that night and you had to call them to get it fixed. So, if you do go here... bring cash. more

Don't need hotel with rude staff and poor service! 8/3/2010

My daughter and her family live very close to this hotel, so I thought this looked like a great place to stay on our many visits to see them and our new grandson. However, I am glad I read the reviews before booking! I will take my business elsewhere. There are lots of other hotels in Plano! Pros: appearance from website Cons: Very bad reviews! Don't need rude staff! more

Thinking about booking? Think twice! 8/1/2010

I searched all over Dallas for the perfect place to celebrate for my wife's birthday. Upon entering the hotel, I was wowed. I invited friends and family to come celebrate with us, I thought the lounge would have been a perfect location. Only after checking in was I informed there was a $10 cover charge for all my guests. Needless to say, I paid for 12 guests to to be able to join our party. There were other small things that weren't true as had been advertised on NYLO's website. Room service was not 24 hours, they stoped serving at 10 or 11. There was only one bottle of complimentary water in the room, I contacted front desk and I was told bottled water was not replenished until housekeeping cleaned the room (after check out) or that I could buy water in the store downstairs. There was one towel in the room (their attempt at being green). The IPOD docking station did not work. To me these are minute details, but disappointing. My biggest problem were the doormen working the entrance to the lounge. I had an absolutely unacceptable experience: One of my guests was under 21 and was not allowed in the lounge, I was told by Neil at the front desk that if I spoke with the doorman, I may be able to work something out and get my guest in as long as they didn't drink (did he mean giving the doorman a large tip?). When I tried speaking with the doorman I was belittled, insulted, talked down to and cussed. The doorman's exact words were ""I don't give a f*** what the front desk told you."" The confrontation only escalated from there. I gave the guy a pat on the back and told him I was a guest and that he should calm down. He informed me that I had made a huge mistake by touching him, to ""never f****ng touch him again"". Then a cop chased me down and told me he was going to arrest me for assault for unwarranted touching ""that they don't put up with that sh** around here"". UNBELIEVABLE! I gave my sincerest apology because I didn't want to go to jail and I thought the situation had ended. I came back from my room and was not allowed re-entry into the lounge, I was told I was not welcome due to my attitude and that if I was a guest of the hotel I would not be able to get back into the lounge area the following night or for the remainder of my stay. I had to pull all of my guests out. It was such a petty incident and completely unacceptable. I travel a lot and I have never been so upset and embarrassed in any situation or any professional establishment. It made for a horrible night, my stay was completely ruined. I was embarrassed to tell my guests what happened. I was told by front desk I could speak to the director of rooms about my situation. No one even seemed concerned about what happened. I guess at NYLO, that's the way the operate. They're a booming hotel and have a great concept. I'm sure it's all about the money and they aren't hurting for business. It was the worst display of professionalism that I have ever encountered. If you're considering staying at NYLO, think twice and stay with someone that has an established reputation and really cares about their guests such as the Marriott. As for my family and I, I would never go back under any circumstances Pros: Concept hotel with a very hip, chic atmposhere. Cons: Horrible staff ruins entire experience. Overpriced. more

Overrated 7/18/2010

We went there on a Saturday night. I am a world traveler and have seen many places. This place and the staff are trying too hard to be chic.\r Our waitress had an attitude. The food was overpriced and not that tasty.\r Furthermore, I was in the ladies room and when I went to wash my hands, a male employee walked in to clean and just he just stood there. He didn't knock or ask if anyone was inside. I couldn't believe it. He coudn't speak English but finally left after I kept saying that this was the ladies room.We definitely will not be back. Pros: Ambience Cons: Pricey and Snobby more

Nylo in Plano - Very Lame 4/12/2010

Spent a weekend at Nylo in Plano in March. Found it very lame to be honest. People, drunks from the club, running up and down the halls till 5am. The club is nothing to brag about either, there are several better options in the area.\r \r Our room was a King, but it was actually 2 doubles or whatever pushed together - it was nice falling thru the middle - NOT!\r \r Not a big deal to me, but some people may not like that the bathroom is not totally closed off from the main room, even with the door closed. Nice showers though.\r \r If you are considering staying / partying at the Nylo also consider The Joule - your date will be much more impressed ;) more

Okay... 3/7/2010

I did a last minute hotel reservation and the Nylo for my husband and I to get away and have a good time, relax and have some drinks and the club downstairs. I was very impressed with the decor in the building. I loved that I checked in a kiosk and just by swiping my card I was given my key and went straight up to my room. I was impressed with the room. The bathroom was very cool. As I was exploring the room then I discovered that the walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbor clear as day. I heard her whole converstation clearly. As I was waiting for my husband to get there I started to look at my surrounding and found that the shower nozzle was broken. the foot stool for the couch had a broken leg. The bed was supposed to be king bed but come to find out it was two mattresses put together and you could feel the crack in the middle when you slept. Oh wait there was no sleeping because you can hear EVERYTHING from the club below. Im sorry but if we were on the 3rd floor I can only imagine how loud it was for the people below us. Geezz.. Oh and I purchased the breakfast in the morning package. That was a waste of money the staff didnt even know if I was paying customer or not. We went in got the OKAY food and left. I had no interaction with any staff. I will say this place is probably a good thing if you go the club and stay out all night then come back to the room to sleep it would work. If you are looking for a get away and a relaxing fun time, then this is not the place for you. It was cheap so what can you expect. Pros: Pretty lobby Cons: NOISE more

Great Hangout in Plano 3/23/2009

Nice hotel 10/28/2008

This is a nice hotel, the rooms are fabulous. Had dinner there it was good too. Nice lounge area on the first floor to hang out at. I'm highly recommending this hotel. more

Heat Suana! Overpriced! 8/5/2008

We had a really great waitress. The atmosphere was pretty cool as well. BUT!!!! and I do mean BUT!!! The place was extremely overpriced. I was there during happy hour and a bottle of beer was $4.00 on the happy hour price. I'd hate to see what the regular price was. Some of the martinis that were on happy hour price were $7.00. To me, that is just too much. Some of the people I was with ordered food, and the food looked unappetizing, and was overpriced as well. And to top everything off, I think this hotel did not realize that they were in Texas, and they had windows with out any type of shading, blinds, or curtains. It was so hot in there, and the sun was shining on us all. We were soooooooo hot! It was awful. I definitely will NEVER go back again. Pros: Good waitress Cons: Was hot in there, overpriced, lousy food more

Nice place to live and stay 6/20/2008

I have heard this name before it was kind of weird at first and don't really have clue what it is, but New York from NY. It's a apartment, Loft - room services in Plano area in NY style. The decoration is very modern style of pricy range in big city like NY, Chicago feels. It's very nice, but tiny little slot w/ fully furnished. You can certainly feel when u walk in w/ nice great bar and restaurants there\r \r This is fairly new to Dallas - F area here. Y'all need to check it out more

Poor Customer Service 6/13/2008

I have been trying for the past two weeks to book a party at this venue and have been given the complete run around by their staff. I am going some place else b/c if that is any indication of the level of service they provide, I'm sure I wouldn't have an enjoyable event. They are too new in the metro to treat potential customers off. more

Very cool new hotel 4/29/2008

We stumbled upon this a few weekends ago when it was recommended by a local. You can't tell this is a hotel from the outside and you might miss it because their sign is very small. This is a very upbeat hotel. The floors are stained, buffed concrete and the furniture is modern. The pool is what will bring you back especially during the summer. They have top notch patio lounges, some as large a double bed. The room was very nice and the bed and linens of course compete with the 4 star and above. If you are looking for something different for a weekend getaway from home give it a try! more

Best patio for relaxing after work 2/21/2008

My girlfriends and I wanted to try some place new and had heard about ""the NYLO"" opening up over by McAfee so thought we'd check it out. We didn't know what to expect driving up to it, looks somewhat industrial, but once inside, you feel like you've walked into a NYC lounge / club but without the attitude. The drinks were very good, wine list was doable but the feel of the place is what we really liked. Very hip but relaxed at the same time. Finally, something cooler than a ""pub"" comes to corporate headquarter haven. We've desperately needed a cool place to hang out after work and this is perfect. I can't wait for Spring to sit outside on the patio, kick back in the chez lounges(?) ha! There's a fire place by the pool, which I love. That will be nice once the sun goes down. The crowd was good, not too cheesey not too uppity. I really did like it. Planning our next work happy hour there. Thank you for finally bringing us business types a cool place to unwind. Pros: Patio, Atmosphere, Location, Small Plates, Fireplace Cons: Wine list could be better for the type of place it is. more

My worst hotel experience ever, we had to leave at 11 pm. 1/2/2008

My fiance booked a room at the new NYLO hotel for us for New Years Eve. We are big fans of Phillip Starks properties and were excited to have something comparable in the metroplex. He had requested a pool view room and we were in one overlooking the highway. The staff let us switch to the one across the hall. The view is still not good, but was better. We immediatley noticed that the loud club music from the bar downstairs could be heard quite distinctly in our room. I asked the manager if it would get any louder and he assured me it would not. We went to dinner and a bar and then came back to the hotel. The music was then so loud that we could not hear each other or watch TV over it. I called the front to ask to switch rooms again. After 3 phone calls I was told that the manager had checked all the available rooms and that the music could be heard even on the fifth floor. They offered us a $10 free breakfast to compensate. I told them that we would just check out and would not be paying for our stay. I was put on hold and then told that if we were out before midnight there would be no charge. Thankfully we live in downtown Dallas so we just drove home. Cute hotel, if you want to sleep in a club. Also, we were on their special ""Pure"" level that was supposed to be allergy free, but the exposed duct work in the halls was covered in very thick dust. Pros: Cute Decor Cons: Unable to sleep for loud music more
