I've taken 4 classes here, each about 6 months apart and I really have nothing but praise for this place... Atmosphere is welcoming and encouraging. Teachers are patient and friendly. Classes are small - usually five people or less - and most of the students are professional adults who come to the classes after work. Other pros: a great makeup lesson policy, and an unbeatable price tag. But ultimately, I guess what it REALLY all boils down this: it's almost 2 years since I took my first NYC Guitar School class I've become extremely proud of my guitar playing abilities. In two years, I can play pretty much the the rhythm (chords) to all my favorite songs. I'm even comfortable listening to a song and figuring out how to do basic soloing over it without sounding bad... and two years ago I had barely even touched a guitar. Thank you NYC Guitar School! I'm extremely grateful and will return again for more advanced classes!
Pros: Great teachers, encouraging environment, price, small classes, makeup policy, bottom line: you'll learn how to play.
Cons: Some classrooms are nicer than others... but who really cares?
