Best

I would have to say that this is the best seafood buffet in MN. For this price of all-u-can-eat no one can beat that.

Worst

Not a great place to stay and play. I understand that you will lose more than win in any casino, but there is close to zero entertainment value here. Pros: low dollar card tab...

Denied Service as a Guest 6/23/2010

I stayed in a 'no smoking' room. However, there's no escape from the cigarette stench throughout the building. It's quite disgusting and goes with you when you leave; a thorough wash is necessary. I was not allowed to watch TV in the casino in TWO DIFFERENT AREAS even though I was a paying guest (the TV in the room did not carry the program I wanted to see, and it was playing on only a few of the many, many big screen TVs in the casino area). To add insult to insult, the two different employees were both nasty when speaking with me, and I did and said nothing to invite their poor guest service and interaction. After packing my bags and checking out immediately after the incident, I spoke with the manager. He was friendly (of course, it's his job, right?). I informed him that I will not be back - EVER, and will tell others to stay away. Angry workers, confrontational, and aggressive toward a paying hotel guest. Don't go there unless you enjoy that kind of treatment and are willing to pay for it. 1 star rating is generous - 0 was not possible, nor was a negative rating. more

Denied service because I was not a Club Mystic Member! 4/21/2010

I went there over the weekend and played at High Stakes and got FREE food! The next day I asked for the menu and the floor had a nasty attitude and denied me any service. He said that I wasn't a CLUB CARD MEMBER and non-members don't get serviced! Mystic has BAD customer service, so why would I want to be a member now? more

Left in 10 minutes, choking on smoke fumes and can't get a beer 2/22/2010

Arrived in Minneapolis with nothing to do till the next day and saw the ads for $3.00 blackjack. We were only about 20 minutes from the Casino and said why not. From the minute the doors were opened for us the stench of a 1000 cigarettes loomed in the air, ok it is a casino we thought. Most casino's pump out the horrid taste of smoke but not Mystic Lakes, I think they actually pumped it in the casino floor. Oh well they have a non-smoking section 10 feet from the smoking section, we will be fine. Then the horror hit, everybody had a pepsi cup, the "bar" had ice cream and coffee, there was a free pepsi stand. This only meant one thing, a dry reservation. While I understand the issues involved it seems kind of odd this huge facility full of dreams dashed seems so concerned with not allowing a patron a beer, but evidently you should smoke'em if you got'em. The wretched overwhelming smell and taste of smoke made us bail out as soon as we entered. BTW there wasn't a craps table, pai gow, real roulette. very odd place, tables were still in construction. The best part was as we left the reservation for the great Mall of America (why not they have beer right?), there was a discount tobacco shop and next to it a liquour store. I guess if you feel like getting second hand cancer inside of an hour while losing your money this is the place for you! more

classic lady 12/2/2009

took myself and my oxygen to mystic lake..oxygen accidentally ran out...I then asked security guard for a shot of the casino's oxygen and he refused me and could only offer me an escort to my car! I assume the casino didn't want me on their premises should I pass out and would rather have me pass out while driving! And I've been a faithful customer for over 13 yrs.!I know they have a small oxygen tank in their medic rooms as I know several employee's there.Maybe I should consider another casino? more

If you play big you will loose big 11/16/2008

After my last visit the security car followed me out to my car. I play big to win big but the new technology allows them to find, track, and shut down any machine you play on. I've been going there for years and after flipping the watchers the bird on top of my head on my way out the door and having their security team almost escort me out I know I am right so if you play big they know it and know you. I was there only 15 minutes. more

A Great Gambling Hot Spot 10/25/2006

I enjoy gambling at Mystic Lake Casino. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant. The staff is friendly. The gaming room is huge and consists of blackjack tables, slot machines, bingo, coin-pay machines and more. Of course the place smells like a giant ashtray, but you’ll find that at any casino. There is a non-smoking area and the entire facility is alcohol-free. The casino also includes a hotel, various restaurants and buffets, and a mini-venue for live entertainment. more

Something for everyone 4/14/2006

Mystic Lake Casino is actually a great place to take the family. They have a place to drop the kids to play while you gamble, or swim or just enjoy the hotel's amenities. There's a buffet, but there's also a "sidewalk cafe" that has terrific food for very reasonable prices. It has an extremely varied menu, with something for everyone. Just bear in mind, if you're eating at the cafe, you may run into someone you know. After you eat, you can work out at the fitness center. The casino is beautiful, lushly decorated. I'm not a gambler, but I still like going there. more

Too Smoky 8/30/2005

If you really love gambling and going casino then should go for refresh your memories of atlantic city and las vegas. It is really big casino and very good parking space(paid/unpaid) both and direct facility for bus from mall of america to casino and casino to mall of america. But Every rose has thorn.I felt it too smoky there should be non smoking area .Smokes made me nauseating.I would have enjoyed more if air was fresher. more

Mystic Lake Casino 8/30/2005

Mystic Lake is just something different to do on a free night. It seems that senior citizens frequent that place a lot. I’m not much of a gambling person of course, but I can never spend more than two hours there without getting a little bored (granted, my friends like slot machines and not tables… but there isn’t really much else to do, unlike Vegas). Also sometimes the casino itself doesn’t look extremely busy, yet there is a line for some more popular games. Mystic Lake hotel is very nice though, service and pool and all that. more

Good Enough to be Vegas 8/19/2005

Mystic Lake Casino is a fun place to go with your friends at any age. You'll find a lot of old people as well as young people on the weekends (You only have to be 18 to gamble). They have a pretty good buffet that's huge, and free soda. It's not a far drive from the cities, so if you're itching to go to Vegas, but only have the night, Mystic could be a quick getaway. more
