Avoid at all costs!! Without a doubt, the worst, most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Like others here, I am a customer of American Home Shield and had a compressor failure on a 4 year old Trane system at my home. Myers was the choice of American Home Shield and came out to verify that the compressor was indeed blown. That was six (6) weeks ago and after (literally) hundreds of calls to both AHS and Myers, I still have no AC here in the middle of Summer. Myers has given me a thousand excuses, been rude and unprofessional, hung up on me, and never, one time, returned a call as they promised they would do. \r \r I finally contacted the owner of the company, who is in Montgomery, and suddenly, the six additional weeks they were going to need (adding up to a 3 month outage) became only two days. I was called Friday and told that the new compressor would miraculously be here and installed on Monday between noon and 3:00. Imagine this, it is after 3:00 and no Myers!!!!! Looks like I have been lied to yet again by this horrible company. \r \r I am never an advocate for a company being driven out of business, but in the interest of many future customers being abused by this company, I can only hope that Myers' shoddy practices finally catches up with them and causes their demise. It would save others from having to go through the hell I have gone through. \r \r If you have an option, DO NOT USE MYERS!!!!!! more

Try to avoid Myers AC/Heating company in Birmingham, AL. we bought a 23 yrs old house so, we decided to join American home shield for home insurance. Nov, 12, 2012 our heater didn't work so, I called American home shield. AHS sent "" Myers Air conditioning Heating And Plumbing"" to fix our heater. Our heater was almost 30 yrs old in that time and couldn't be fixed anymore. We got the new one and was covered by our AHS insurance. we had to pay $995 for the parts that didn't cover by AHS. we had no problem with it. 6/8/2013 our ceiling was leaking very bad. we found out the water was from our New AC/Heating unit. We called AHS and they sent Myers to fix the leak. The technician came and told me the pipe was stuck. The only thing was I would need a new emergency pan which was damaged by leaking. He also suggested me to repair my ceiling because it looked very bad. This is summer time all my kids are at home, one of my kids is 3 yrs old. it is not easy to live without AC. so I asked him when would I get the new emergency pan. He told me he had to make order request. Then they would call me to schedule a time to come here to put the new one for me but I would able to use my AC ""Now"" because the pipe was working and I shouldn't have any leaking anymore. I told Myers technician about since my ceiling was damaged very bad I felt uncomfortable without emergency pan to hold the water if something happened again and "" Are you sure I can use AC now? "" He gave me a positive answer "" YES"" He said "" don't worry, you can run your AC now. We did and we found the water in my house again. As you know we called AHS again. Thanks to GOD the AHS representative couldn't get contact to anyone from Myers so, AHS representative asked me if it was ok for other company to come to fix the leak for me. I told her it was a great idea because I would like to have 2nd opinion because we didn't have any leaking problem with 30 yrs old unit till we got the new one. The water was from between the unit and furnace. ( they used silver tape to taped it ). I thought might be the reason - they didn't taped it right. The second AC company sent their technician to our house. I told him my concern and asked him to check the water pipe to see if it was the reason. He checked the water pipe and told me the pipe was fine. He stayed in there for awhile suddenly he stood in opposite side from the water pipe and lift up the furnace. I saw lots of water came out. In the beginning I only saw water was dripping on the water pipe ( including the first time Myers AC/Heating came to fix the leaking problem ). Second company technician told me the leak was caused by didn't level the furnace right. He asked for couple pieces of wood and he put these wood under the furnace from another side of water pipe. He said I won't have any leaking problem and it was ok to use AC. I only need to repair the ceiling, emergency pan, and adjust the furnace to make it in the right level. \r I called AHS and told AHS what happened. AHS told me they don't cover for secondary insurance. Then I called Myers AC/Heating ( in Birmingham, AL ) and asked to talk to supervisor. And the supervisor of Myers told me the same. I did pay $995 for the difference to cover the new furnace because my old unit was almost twice size big than the new one so, I had to redo the furnace. Supervisor of Myers also told me they won't cover the leaking damage because I turned on AC before they put the emergency pan. Supervisor of Myers denied the technician had told me I was ok to run the AC. I asked her if I won't be able to use AC how come Myers waited till 6/20/2013 to call me to schedule to put the new pan on 6/25/2013. The new pan is from my AHS insurance. This is the reason I won't recommend Myers AC/Heating ( in Birmingham, AL ) to anyone. I believe people do make mistake and it is ok but they do need to fix the mistake they made. Supervisor of Myers AC/Heating Company disagreed this kind of concept. more

This company is terrible! I won't be using them again. My Home Warranty company assigned them to me when my airr went out at the beginning of Summer. They sent out multiple people, who each found a diiferent problem that required them to order different parts. I was withou air for over two weeks and they never answer their phone. Avoid them if possible! more

Become good friends with the guys that come and fix your leak, because you'll be calling them to come back time and time again. Save your money as well, since they'll be expecting to be paid each time they come out and don't fix your problem. I've run the gamut with my plumbing problems. At first I had no water pressure. Then I had no water period. And lastly, when I had water, I also had a massive leak INSIDE my wall. Had I known it was going to take this many times to fix 1 problem, I would've called someone who knows what they are doing from the beginning. Now I'm out $800, have water damage and growing gray hairs from the frustration. more

Very Disappointed 6/28/2010

I called on Saturday and left a message for them to reach me on Monday morning as we have no air conditioning. By 9 a.m. I didn't receive a call so I called them and got their voice mail. Of course, their box is full so I can't leave another message. Here it is 12:36 and I called my home warranty people to cancel the service call and explained the reason for cancellation. I know of another A/C repair company that came out within one hour for repair. It seems that when my A/C was installed two years ago that they used aluminum wiring instead of copper wiring and that wrong wiring burnt my circuit breaker. So Douglas A/C did a temporary fix to get the A/C working, but we'll have Fox Electric come out tomorrow to put in Copper Wiring. Right now, it's 85 degrees in the house (down my 89 15 minutes ago). My dog is laying on the A/C vent and seems a lot happier. Pros: This year, no Pro's Cons: Customer Service more
