It's no longer Jim it's Chuck and this place is unbelievable. I should have really checked this place out. They are still smooth talkers and got me for $3300 plus I had to pay for...

I seldom write reviews but I will in this case. I had taked my car in on a Saturday and left it over the weekend. On Monday, Todd contacted me and told me that I was going to need a complete rebuild. We settled on a price and I was told the car would be ready possibly late Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Since I was having to rent a vehicle, time was a financial concern for me. Well, because of several incorrect parts being shipped in, the repair took a week longer than necessary. I understand that issues like this do come up from time to time but I was not happy paying an extra unplanned week on a rental. I was very pleased that Todd agreed to compensate me for some of my extra expense and send me on my way as a happy customer. Things don't always go perfect but in this case, I think A Plus showed that they care about their customers. Well done. more

Works for me 9/19/2012

A+ 's service works for me. I had my car's transmission problem fixed. Takes a lot of patience but after that, nothing's wrong with my car. I was also given tips on how to take care of it. more

Thank you Scott and Robert for exceeding my expectations!!! I have never had to take my car to any kind of shop ever. I did a lot of shopping around and did a lot of research before I finally realized my car would be in good hands with A Plus Transmissions. Between my mother and I, I am sure we were driving them crazy with all the questions and phone calls. We had no idea what we were doing. Scott and Robert were both very patient. They lead the way with professionalism and understanding. I received my car back within two days as promised and my car is running great. I am a very satisfied customer. Bad customer service and work! 7/18/2012

It's no longer Jim it's Chuck and this place is unbelievable. I should have really checked this place out. They are still smooth talkers and got me for $3300 plus I had to pay for a rental. It has been back at the shop this 3rd time now for a month and a half. Chuck always says he will call you back and he never does. I had to show up today in order to get a roll moving on my truck. I will be back with an updated review if my truck is for sure fixed this time on Thursday. I asked for all receipts and they told me they had actually put new parts so the receipts better f'ng show it. I also want pics. I will also be complaining to the asta and the bbb. Such an embarrassment to be had for that much $. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! more

Repairs beyond great 12/16/2011

The A+ Transmissions in Kingwood just repaired my Bonneville. They rectified the problem it came in for plus performed a number of small additional repairs at no additional charge. Shortly after I picked up the car my wife (the boss of me) noticed a small noise. I returned to the shop and was put to the front of the line and a small bushing in the front end was found to be bad. They replaced it for no charge and sent me happily on my way. My wife says we can keep the car for another three years thanks to Jim and A+. more

A+ Transmission is a Joke! Just like their paid reviews! 12/7/2011

5 Stars? Really Everyone? You guys are lying out your butts to think this place is 5 stars! Think about it to anyone reading this review...........How often whe you go get your oil changed or transmission rebuilt or whatever mechanic you go to.......do you remember the 1st and Last names of the mechanic or whoever it was that help you? Probably never maybe their 1st name, but when you read all these FAKE reviews you'll notice, they ALL say "Jim Mullin and David Hernandez really helped me out!" \r \r Some even say Jim Mullin was very experise in his feild, got my car and fixed the transmission, On (whatever) Northpark Dr. in Kingwood, Tx!"\r \r Let's be serious guys, Those are such fake reviews that you should smell the crooks from a mile away! NOBODY really says stuff like that in reviews, just look at other reviews for yourself and you'll see.\r \r Anyways don't waste your time here, guys they will bs you and take your money and STILL try to be your friendly neighbor! Long lasting repairs 11/30/2011

My Dodge diesel was repaired at A+ Transmissions in Kingwood more than 5-years ago. I have logged more than 220,000 miles since and it works better than ever. Jim phoned me to remind me of the annual fluid change and I thought it would be nice to return the favor and share my experience of complete satisfaction with this company. more

Done just right 11/18/2011

My recent repair with Jim at A+ was a positive experience.\r I had a week left before my job ended (I was stressed out). I was treated to sympathetic ear and a price break to enable my van to have it's transmission repair done. The van is working properly and no more check engine lights are on. My experience with this establishment was the ultimate in customer service and quality repairs. more

Transmission repair at it's finest 11/14/2011

A+ Transmission rebuilt my Suburu's gear box recently. I have never been happier with the service or work quality anywhere. The crew took special care of my "baby" and the managers were the epitome of professionalism. The shop is clean and treats people with dignity. At A+ you get much more than you pay for. more

Hassle free repair 11/10/2011

I wanted to share a recent experience I had with A Plus Transmissions of Kingwood. My transmission quit working, I phoned Jim. He sent a service to pick up my Eclipse. It was repaired properly with no hassles or delays.I am happy with the quality of work. It beats making a car payment. Case closed. more

Dont be misled!! Worst place ever!!!! 11/8/2011

Please people do not be misled by the 5 star reviews. This transmission shop is far from providing and 5 star service. I've submitted a report to the better business bureau because of how our repairs were handled and how we were taken advantage of. DO NOT GO HERE at any cost if you can!! more

THIS PLACE SUCKS! 11/8/2011

Whoever wrote these latest reviews must have been talking about a TOTALLY different A+ Tansmission or it was the owners writing their own reviews (That's what it sounds like when you read them)!\r \r Anyways I was waaaaay overcharged! I was suckered into the "Oh we'll take it apart for $500 and if there is something wrong with it will add it to the price of the repair" Well GUESS WHAT?\r \r IT WAS MORE THAN $500!!! On top of that and $1300 later my transmission did the same crap it did when I got it back!!\r \r Save yourself the trouble and disregard these previous FAKE reviews because I went by those and NOW I'm regretting it! more

The shop to trust 9/19/2011

I entrusted my Maxima to A+ Transmissions in Kingwood. The word on the street is that type of transmission is nearly impossible to properly repair. I had been told that Jim Mullin was person to ask for. Jim fully explained the lengthy process needed to correct the inherent problem and it really made sense to me. Because the dealer transmission replacement was COMPARITIVELY so costly it made sense to go with A+. Fast forward more than a year and the transmission functions flawlessly. On the first scheduled maintenance service (which Jim called to remind me of) the fluid still remained pink and he jokingly suggested that I had it changed on the way over. To sum things up you can really trust this shop they know their business and are easy to work with. more

Great customer service 9/13/2011

Great customer service, fast turn around time, good prices, this A+ Transmission shop on Northpark has come to rescue flawlessly repairing my Ford truck in time for the new work week.Jim and David saw to it that I was also aware of other issues with the truck which needed attention and advised that I go to another local shop with their diagnosis. As far as I am concerned A + will always be my first choice for transmission repairs. more

GREAT CUSTUMER SERVICE 9/13/2011

I RECENTLY TOOK MY 2005 FORD TAURUS THINKING I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. DAVID AND JIM WERE VERY EAGER TO HELP ME AND HAD MY CAR TESTED, THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM AND TO MY RELIEF I DID NOT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I AM GREATFUL TO DAVID AND JIM FOR THEIR HONESTY AND FAST SERVICE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE LOOKING TO SAVE MONEY. more

Work fit for a King 9/12/2011

Transmission shops sometimes have a bad name. I am happy to report that I was totally impressed with the recent experience I had at Kingwood A Plus Transmissions. Jim and David made me feel at ease and intelligently managed to answer all of my many questions. The work was promised in 3 days and took only 2. Jim said it was because transmissions were all they work on and I was happy. The truck seems to have more power than ever before. \r I believe you get what you pay for and this time I felt like I got more. more

The Best Transmission shop 9/10/2011

I just have to say how satisfied I am with the transmission work on my Volvo. It has been a great car and the transmission just wore out. David and Jim got my car back quickly and really treated me nicely. Manors and know how, how cool is that! more
