The tremendous amount of salt in our food last night was awful. Apps were okay - a Thai pancake, vegetarian spring rolls. But my veggie rendang and her red curry were just so beyond salty that we both had huge headaches afterwards. Possibly MSG? Also, the lack of coordinating the food - rice coming out fifteen minutes after our entrees - really blew it. Too bad, because Thai is a favorite, but I can't take the chance of increasing my pressure that much. more

I tried MyThai and was very impressed. I'd never had Thai food before and it was a great first experience. The space is great the service is warm and friendly. The pancake was out of this world and the light curry sauce was delicious. I had the Mango Chicken and besides tasting great, it looked beautiful. It's served in a carved Mango and the presentation was impressive. Apparently when you have it delivered, it's served the same way! I tasted the short ribs and I would order those myself. I had the brown rice and that went well with the Mango Chicken. But I tasted the coconut rice and that had a really nice flavor. I would also love to try the beef satay because it looked fantastic. Everything I tasted was perfectly spiced - nothing overpowering. For dessert the fried bananas were good and the green tea ice cream was better than any I've ever had. They're open late, too and that's a great thing! The price is also definitely right. I expected the bill to be much higher than it was. I love spicey food, yet was never really a big fan of Thai for whatever the reason. My girlfriend recently moved to the Bay Ridge area and had mentioned she saw this restaurant one day in passing (she on the other hand loves Thai). Figured we give it a chance. I have to say, it wasn't bad at all. Food was spiced just right, not so much that it overwhelmed you like most places and wasn't swimming in grease. We actually stayed for a few drinks after. Maybe I'm used to Manhattan, but I was surprised no one tried to rush us out! Will be back again. more
