My dog was SHAVED! 7/13/2011

I have been taking my yorkie to get groomed at My Second Home for 4 years and her regular groomer is no longer there. I asked the new groomer to cut her hair short all over for the summer and when I picked her up she was SHAVED!!!! She doesn't look like the same dog. She is acting depressed and my vet told me to put sunscreen on her now when walking because she has no hair to protect her skin. The shortest I have ever had her cut is 1/2 inch, and appearantly the groomer didn't even look at her history. If I wanted her shaved I would have said the word ""shave."" When I picked her up I was so upset I didn't say anything. I waited untiil I calmed down and called to express my concern. The manager was suppose to call me back and didn't. I told a friend of mine who takes her dog to get groomed there and the same thing happened to her last month. I am so disappointed that this happened and the way it has been handled. more

THE best doggie daycare and boarding facility 8/10/2010

My Second Home is a wonderful facility to take your dog, whether for a play day or overnight boarding. It is beautiful, clean and the staff is friendly and professional. I have been a client for over three years and have only great things to say about My Second Home. It is very comforting to have a place to take my lab and know 100% that he will be loved and well treated. He is thrilled whenever we turn onto Mission Court! This is an exceptional place in every way. more

Happy dog!! 7/29/2010

Our rescue dog, Copper, is 7 months old and has been very socialized with people. We realized after going to his first dog run, that he was very scared of larger dogs and didn't know how to deal with other dogs. My better half looked into dog resorts and found My Second Home. We loved the video and pictures of the facility and they looked like a nice fit for our Copper. The best part was that it was just a mile from my partner's work. After just 4 days of staying there during the daytime, Copper is incredibly comfortable and playful around other dogs. Big AND small. And he is happily worn out from all the great playtime. A very happy dog! The staff was incredible and kept us informed during his first day there and keeps us up to date with his activities and progress. The best. My second home is second to none in terms of a Pet Resort. They have treated me and my loved one (puppy) very well and are always in a good mood whenever I come in. The facilities are awesome and so are the staff! more

Great boarding facility 1/8/2010

I love boarding my dog here because it gives me peace of mind while I'm out of town that he is in good hands. He never seems depressed when I pick him up and never objects to me leaving him there. My little ones are so loved and cared for at My Second Home Pet Resort. 1/29/2009

My babies are very special to me, so when I go on a trip or they need to be groomed I will only take them to My Second Home. The kennel staff has always been good to my Peppy and Molly and I always receive a nice reportcard with a picture to show me what a great time they had!!! I feel that my babies are safe in their care, so I never feel the need to worry. I love the smiling faces of the front desk staff and the way they greet me by name when I walk through the door. I also love the way they greet my babies with hugs, thats a big plus. That lets me know that they take the time to get to know their clients and thats a great feeling. Thank you My Second Home. more

Happy to have My Second Home!! 12/30/2008

I just can't believe the comments from the last two reviewers. Those two reviews and my experience with My Second home is like night and day, to the point I feel like something there is a little fishy. We just moved to Nashville 9 months ago and have boarded both our two dogs and cat at My Second Home several times. The staff has been amazing every single time. Our pets always look great and seem so comfortable to be there. Our dogs literally pull us through the front doors and never even turn around to say goodbye. They would not do that if My Second Home ""kept them in a cage for 4 days"". Our family is so happy to have My Second Home. We wanted to say thank you for all that you've done for us. Pros: Peace of Mind Cons: Not enough small businesses like this one more

Best Boarding Around!! 11/21/2008

We take our Bassett Hound here every time we go out of town. The place is awesome! It does not look like - or smell like - a kennel when you walk in the door. It's park-like setting is wonderful and the amenities, even in their standard rooms, are far superior to anything we have found. The prices are a little higher, but well worth the money for what you get. The staff is professional and so helpful and just love to see our dog when we drop him off. HIGHLY recommend this place. more

They Really Care 10/15/2008

We have had our dog ""Dixie"" for 3 years, She is a rescue and we were very nervous about leaving her for the first time. After three years she still hides instead of barks when the door bell rings. But we had a death in the family and had to go out of state for the services. We chose My Second Home because they offered a room called the ""Serenity Suites"". It is for dogs that are timid or old that need a quiet area and some extra attention. The lighting is dim, there is soft music, big beds, and when i was viewing the area I saw dogs in there that looked just happy as could be. I thought this is PERFECT for Dixie. Pros: Everything!!! Cons: Would be great if it were closer to us more

Best Pet Resort in Nashville! 7/10/2008

I have been taking my dog to My 2nd Home since they opened. They are always friendly and excited to see her. I have noticed that there are many of the same people working there for the last couple of years. It's a relief to know that the place isn't a revolving door for employees. My dog seems to have a great time everytime she is there and leaves very happy. My only complaint is that they are more expensive than some of the other pet resorts that we have visited out of state. They also raise their rates at ""peak season."" I'm okay with that because this is the only boarding facility in Nashville where I feel comfortable leaving my dog and I don't worry about her my whole trip! worth every cent! 6/25/2008

we just took our dog sadie, a 6 yr. old greyhound mix to My Second Home for the 1st time while we were in Montana for almost a week. When we went to pick her up we could immediately tell that she had a great time; she came and greeted us and gave us a hug and then wanted to go and play. She cried half the way home and avoided us; you could really tell that she missed her new friends! My Second Home costs a little more than the vet's boarding but is much much much better. The last time we had boarded her at her vet's office and when i went to pick her up she nearly knocked me over and made a beeline for my car in the parking lot and clung to me like glue; you could tell she wanted out of there! When we picked her up from my second home she was clean and happy. we were given a report card of how she had played with the other dogs, how she had eaten and her elimination. we also had a picture of her playing in the yard outside!!! you could tell she was having fun in the picture and was in the middle of having a blast!! they also place name tag collars on them so that they can identify them and it has their business address and number just in case they were to jump over the fence or something. they also gather a lot of info. when you bring your pet in such as where they like to be petted; what are their favorite toys and activities. they adapt to your dog; i.e. our dog does not eat on a schedule, they said that was fine and that they would just leave her bowl in her place. i cannot say how happy we were to have found my second home for our dog; it is worth every penny and we will be going back!! Me & My dog love My Second Home! 6/18/2008

My Second Home is one of the best kennels I have ever been to. The staff there is wonderful and really takes care of my dog. They know everything about him when I arrive to pick him up. They fill out little report cards so you know how your pet did. I have never had a problem with any of the areas there. JoJo (my dog) loves coming there and I feel like he is getting a vacation as well! I will never take my dog any where else! i wish they would open a few more up because I know we could never have too many! You will not be disappointed after your stay with My Second Home!! Our Second Home 6/10/2008

This place is great. From the staff that helps me at the door, to the care my pets recieve in a very upscale environment, we feel very comfortable when we leave town and cant take our "babies".\r We love the report cards when we pick up, and the waggin tails let us know that our dogs had fun. They always pull to get in the door, and so we know that they are treated well, and have fun while we are gone.\r Thanks My Second Home for giving us a place we can trust with our pets. more

Best PLace EVER!!!!! 5/20/2008

My Second Home goes above and beyond any expectations of any boarding/grooming kennel I have ever seen. The staff there is incredible front and back! When I leave my dog there whether it be for boarding, grooming, or daycare I know she is well taken care of. Everyone there knows her and treats her like one of their own! This place is amazing and I would reccomend it to anyone. If it were not for the girls up front and the people at the doors every morning I dont know where I'd be! They are a huge help. Our dogs ""Second Home"" 5/15/2008

We discovered My Second Home about a year ago and we have been using them for boarding and grooming ever since. We have also tryed their daycare and would come every day except we live about 25 miles away. :( We love the staff and they seem to know our dogs and have become their second family. We forgot our vacination records and they offered to take care of it for us by contacting our vet. They actually have a greeter at the door to help with belongings and getting our pets inside the building safely. This is especially helpfull as I do not have to get my baby out of the car to drop the dogs off!! Whew! Pros: All Good Cons: Too far away from Hendersonville more

Jealous of My Dog 4/4/2008

We have been going to My Second Home for years. My dog can not wait to get out of the car when we arrive. I love knowing that my dog is still able to play while we are away. My Second Home offers several fun things for dogs to do while they are there. The kennel staff is always great. I have had to talk to a manager on a few occasions in regards to food, and they always make me feel like they watch my dog better than I do. I will say that I have to agree with some of the comments left by others about the front desk staff. I'll just say that I am glad they are not the people that are caring for my dog. This place would be flawless if the front end cared as much as the back end. But how my dog is treated is priority here and I would recommend them to anyone. THE BEST PET RESORT / KENNEL 3/2/2008

I had the best experience here. I have been to about 10 other kennels in the last year. My 2nd Home is by far the BEST!!! They treat my pet like their pet! I have taken my dog to 2 other kennels in the past 3 months and I will not take her back anywhere else! I have had the worst experience with doggy daycares... my dog was allways coming home sick... now that she goes to My 2nd Home 2x a week she is never sick! Thank you goes out to all the workers at My 2nd Home! I know that another person on here said that they were they worst and I can tell you that is not true at all! The techs in the back as well as some of the women up front are amazing! They were all very sweet to me and my dog.... including knowing her by name!! Always a Great Experience!! 2/22/2008

Have taken my family pets several times to My Second Home and they have always had a great stay. Their new porter service where they come and greet you outside and help you in with your pets items is fabulous. It makes your check-in experience so much easier. The staff are wonderful and always greet my pets by name. Love to get back from our trips and find my dogs happy and healthy. We will be back!! more
