My Pets Vet

Recently took my pup here to get a standard shot. Called earlier in the day to schedule an appointment and ask about the costs. I was told $32 with a couple extra dollars for disposal fees. fine. I get into the Vet, get right into the exam room, Doc comes in for no more than 4 mins, extends a leg, administers the shot, and we're on our way... I go out to pay and I owe over $100. this place is a scam!!! I would avoid at all costs! more

I recently took an injured raccoon I had found by the side of the road into My Pets Vet, my first but hopefully not last experience with this wonderful, compassionate veterinarian clinic. Without a question asked, they immediately accepted Hope Harriet, a little fighter of an animal, administering pain management medication and stabilizing her for the next three days. Although Hope did not survive due to complications of a severe spinal cord injury, this clinic watched over her without a modicum of compensation. I would give them my business based entirely on their ethical convictions and unflagging love for all animals, regardless of specie. more

I have tried MANY VETS in the Huntington area including\r Huntington Bay animal Hospital, Syosset Animal Hospital, and West Hills - THE ONLY ONE WE STAYED WITH FOR YEARS IS MY PETS VET. When I first brought our ""Mr. Peppi"" an elderly long haired Chihuahua ,my vet was one of the clinic partners (sorry, so long ago I forgot her name). She and her husband bought a house in florida And moved. ANYWAY - I stayed at My Pets Vet and switched doctors to Dr. Wulforst. She is sharp as whip and VERY capable. Not a very warm & fuzzy person. Very straight forward but as I said REALLY KNOWS HER STUFF!! My baby boy had an external cancerous growth and she removed it so well you can't tell where it was. Dr. Wulforst has my TOP VOTE EVERYTIME. I only didn't give My Pets Vet the full 5 stars because they never have meds for our little 8 LB Chihuahua - its always for LARGE dogs and we have to chop it up to Peppi size dose when we get home. That;s the ONLY reason. Love the Staff and Dr. Wulforst for saving our dog-child Mr. Peppi, THANKS DOC!! :) more

I have been trusting the care of my animals to Dr. Brooke for over 20 years. She is one of the most kind, caring, and knowledgeable vets that I have ever met. Not only that, but she takes the time to explain things, and answer any questions you might have without ever getting frustrated, impatient, or making you feel stupid. Her staff is wonderful, caring, and are true animal lovers themselves. Most people have to drag there animals into the vet's office, but my dogs (great danes, bullmastiffs & boxers) drag me into her office. Animals have very keen instincts when it comes to people. I believe that if they don't like or trust someone, you should watch your back. Every animal I have ever owned truly adored Dr. Brooke. That, to me, says it all! more

I've used My Pet's Vet and Dr. Bridget Brook since she was at Syosset Animal Hospital. At that time she was a caring wonderful vet. She branched out and started her own practice called My Pet's Vet, and at first everything was as usual with good care etc. After the second year things started going bad. Little by little the practice became overwhelming for Dr. Brook and she added more vets and staff. Confusion became the norm, pets were given wrong medication, pets were mixed up and so on. Not only did this happen to me, but also to my neighbor who I had recommended go to Dr. Brook. I continued to use the practice because I trusted Dr. Brook but that trust was finally broken three years ago when my most beloved cat was admitted to their hospital, no tests were actually performed, and even worse I was told blood work was excellent. Too long to go into here but needless to say the outcome was not good. Please do not use My Pet's Vet if you want good care for any of your pets. This practice has been reduced to a money making machine, and I personally feel Dr. Brook is on the verge of a nervous breakdown and no longer can treat any animal effectively. more

When Dr. Brooke first opened this practice 15 years ago she was an incredible, caring vet. As the years have gone by and the practice has grown it is now much less personal and more about money and tests rather than what is truly best for your pet. The qualities that made Dr Brooke famous are in very short supply now. Our dog Kola is one of the few ""original"" customers still alive and there is absolutely no loyalty to her. In fact, we usually see the nasty and condescending Dr. Wolforst. PLEASE...do not allow your pet to be treated by this ""chip on her shoulder"" amateur vet. Acts as if we don't care about our dog. Geez.\r If you can still get Dr Brooke, then OK.\r \r more

I have used My Pet's Vet for several years now. Dr's Brooke and Wulforst are fantastic. Wonderful diagnosticians and very caring. I have also used Dr. Weiner and liked her very much. The staff doesn't hesitate to answer questions and are very courteous and friendly. Both of my dogs have had surgery and the doctors and staff call and let the family know what is going on. Although I agree that My Pet's Vet is a very busy place, I must tell you that the care that my two cats have received has been outstanding. Dr. Brooke is a busy lady with a lot of responsibilities. My babies now see Dr. Wulforst in the same practice. I have the highest regard for her, as she has gone above and beyond the call of duty several times and is a straight shooter when it comes to the diagnosis and treatment of my animals. Knowing that there may be a wait, I try to schedule my appointments when I know I have no time constraints. Afterall, the office hours are from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm most days. If they were medical doctors, (I wish I could find a medical doctor as competent and consciencious) I would make the same accommodations. And I do work full time, by the way. My cats have seen Drs. Brooke, Rowan and Wulforst and I have the greatest confidence in them all. Pros: Extremely knowledgable, competent and compassionate Cons: There may be a bit of a wait at times. more

I have gone to My Pet's Vet for several years now. The front desk staff is very nice and the Veterinarians are thorough and knowledgable. They were always able to get my sick dogs in no matter what. I only had to wait a couple of times. Their new location was roomier and always clean. I even found their prices to be very reasonable. If you are looking for a Vet in the Huntington area, I would definitely recommend Dr Brooke and her staff. Pros: Caring, professional, reasonably priced more

I have been useing My Pets Vet for the last 3 years or so. Dr Brooke has saved the lives of my 2 dogs and cat. She is the BEST diagnostician I have ever encounterd.She is thorough and patient. Even though she works every hour of the day, she never EVER makes me feel as though I am being rushed. Dr Wufsir is a wonderful new addition to a very competant team. Dr Glaser is equally as wonderful. Either one of these Drs will do you pet right. The staff is nice and compassionate. I lost my beloved Lhasa Apso in April. Everyone was compassionate and wonderful and respectful. I cannot tell you how thankful I am to everyone there for all they do and most thanks to the most wonderful Vet on Long Island. Dr Brooke should be proud of how much of a difference she makes in these beloved pets lives. My four animals owe their lives to her. Pros: Loving, compassionate, attentive understanding staff Cons: there is a long wait sometimes but dont worry you will still get your attention when its your turn its worth it more

I love Dr Brooke and the staff at My Pets Vet! I ve been going there with my dog for about 10 yrs and recommending her to everyone I know. I followed Dr Brooke over (from another vet office) when she opened her own practice. These people CARE in a big way for your pet and you. I can't say enough good things about them.
