Muvico Theatres Inc

My last few visits to Muvico on Airport Road in Boca Raton were, at best, horrible! The staff of people are illiterate, most don't speak or understand the ENGLISH language and a nightmare happens when the computers go down! ! ! ! Noone, including the management, but not limited to them, knows what to do without computers. My friend and I waited in line until our movie began, just because noone knew how to sell any food products, take money, or make change when the computer was interrupted. When we urgently called for a manager, his response was "what would you like me to do about it?" I too am in the service industry and not only do I understand that because of it, I have given up the right to a "bad day", but I know how to make quick assessments on immediate situations and resolve them! This as well as many other areas is clearly where MUVICO in Boca Raton, Florida, falls short! I have not been back in a year and I don't intend to go back. Its much easier and less frustrating to wait until any movie comes out on DVD. Thank you for listening and I pray that some steps to resolve these problems will be taken in the very near future! I have wanted to try this location for so long, and after waiting for an hour to get tix and another hour for food, I went to find seats, only to find out they were SOLD out..There were countless others who were in the same predicament, holding their food, and having no where to sit. When finally able to locate anyone slightly managerial, he could not have cared less! He casually said, what would you like me to do? Well, I guess he could have thought ahead and not overbooked, or at least offered to refund $$ or free movie tix for inconvenience. But, alas, he VERY grudgingly returned all patrons $ for tix purchase, without so much as an I am sorry. Plus, we lost $$ on valet parking, food, and time (which has no price tag). Now, this may seem a hassle, but you may think an isolated case..NOPE! This has happened TWICE and the third time I gave this place a chance, we waited 1.5 hours for a pretzel and coke! If you want to see a movie here, I would suggest going to an afternoon matinee, as anytime after dark, they are uselss!! P.S. In their defense, I did see a show in the afternoon with my daughter once and it went smoothly..that's the original reason I went back. But nights are insane! :( more

The Muvico theater in Boca has a great twist on the usual Saturday night movie. The upper level contains the JM Lexus premier theater. It is actually the balcony of the theaters below. However, each seat is a double high backed love seat sort of chair. You have nice table space to your side for your drink and food. Also upstairs is a nice restaurant with a decent menu. You can have dinner before the movie or after, and best of all you can bring your food or wine in with you. Tickets are 17 dollars and includes valet parking and unlimited popcorn. Once you go to the movies this way it will be hard to go back! more
