NOT THE PLACE IT USE TO BE 9/23/2011

I've had numerous problems with this establishment, most recently a very upsetting matter transpired. I'm reading these reviews for the first time today to see if other people had similar problems. Id like to see the management do something about the issues of customers so our children can have a "safe" place to go. True enough, years ago we thought we could trust them with our children and were told by the management to leave our kids in their hands, but what I found out happens behind these closed doors what mortifying. I dont think the actual Owner knows what goes on--I think that the Management and officers may not be informing the Owner of the truth of it all. Anyways, I would really like to talk to you and others regarding this place..can you please email me? I dont want to post my telephone number on this site. I can reach me at tramway29483@yahoo.com. There is another parent that I noticed posted a review through Yahoo - it appears that she wants to have some sort of "coming to Jesus" with the Owner and may even be contacting the media. She has asked for all who are concerned to contact her at midnite412004@yahoo.com - just in case you are unable to find her post. Thanks and take care! more

Needs Revamping 7/10/2011

From a business point of view, if this establishment is going to remain open they are going to have to upgrade their equipment and undergo some staff training and or changes. I believe the skates may be the same skates (for the most part) as the ones purchased when they originally opened. They are extremely uncomfortable and overused. The carpet looks filthy and the tables are due for replacing. Due to the look of things surrounding me and my family, we certainly were not going to brave the concession stand. It's extremely disheartening to see an establishment like this giving up when the area is thirsty for family fun! What's really sad is mentioning the areas of need to the staff and getting a response that "the owner doesn't listen to the managers so it doesn't much matter what is said." I believe the owner was on Wife Swap correct? Maybe he needs to be on Undercover Boss! more

Who picks the music they play? Staff needs an upgrade. 7/11/2008

When we have gone, the majority of patrons are under the age of 12. The music playing, at a deafening volume, is mostly "black hip hop" stuff we do not enjoy. The owner and manager need to reevaluate their music selection if they expect families to want to come to the facility. Also, we have been issued skates with defects so bad they could not be worn. The youth at the counter needs better training so he does not hand out defective skates to patrons. The times we've been, other youths are hanging out at the little skate issue counter chatting endlessly with the youth inside. You have to wait for them to notice you and let you up to the window for a turn. It appears there is little in the way of hands-on adult management at the facility. The staff are not friendly and well trained. more

Safety first 4/24/2007

Their motto is safety first and I believe it is. When I watch teenagers get dropped off on Friday and Saturday nights they do a search at the door. They wont allow any child out without an adult. How many other places do that. How many other teen hangout check the other children to make sure that no one is not bringing in drug or weapons. At least when I do drop my child off there I know I am picking my child up in one piece and they have been kept somewhere safe. People complain about the price, but what are you paying to go to a 2 hour movie? Two hours, at least at the rink they are there up to 5 hours just to hangout with their friends and not get disrupted by having to go somewhere else in that time. Thats 5 hours in one place. That seems like a deal to me. more

Customer Service not a priority 8/28/2006

I found this place to be a joke! My neice had her birthday party here and for the amount of money her mother shelled out to have this party I was very disappointed in the quality of this place. First of all I went to the party with my daughter and not only did I have to pay admittance for myself, I had to pay to rent skates to make sure my young child did not get ran over by older children not paying attention. The staff was also very rude and un accommadating. I would not reccommend this place for a childs birthday party...you might just embarrass yourself in front of your childs guests for choosing such a horrible place to have a party. more

My family and some friends just started going to Music and Motion to give our teens some time with their friends. It isn't that bad, although it is pretty expensive to take an entire family and i was very dissappointed when they would not give a group rate even though we had over 20 people in our group. more

Been there for a while. 10/6/2005

This place has been there for a while. It never looks crowded. It looks run down, but many local kids still go there to skate. It is quite accessible. Traffic on College Park Road is not bad until school gets out. This is a good place to go if you are a local, but for others, it might be a good idea to go somewhere else. more
