Let me tell you the whole store and you judge.\r
\r
I sent my daughter there for music lessons. They dont charge you if the teacher does not turn up. But you still have to pay if you are sick and miss one lesson.\r
\r
their logic? - if you are attending college, you still have to pay for the days you dont attend.\r
\r
My answer - that logic is flawed. College is for about 10 months. You go to college EVERY SINGLE DAY. You can if you want use its facilities on weekend. It provides internet and many other facilities. So out of them 200 some days, at about 6 to 8 hours a day, if you miss a few days being sick, of course the college wont refund your money.\r
Comparing M&A to that, M&A is for ONE day of the Week and just for 30 mins. So, in a month a total of about 2 hours. So asking customers to pay full price, and comparing yourself to a university is a collosally flawed thinking.\r
\r
\r
Secondly - I checked the prices online to rent a musical instrument. Their listed price - $19.99. So one expects that when you rent it, with tax, it costs you about $22 or $23.\r
NO. Not with these guys. The bill came up to $48. SURPRISE!!! Thats one month rental. How did that happen?\r
$19.99 for the instrument, $17.99 for insurance, $3 for a name tag ( this is actually an advertaisment for their store so they should be paying you money), plus some other thing they added on the bill and then tax. Total ? More than double the advertaised price.\r
\r
\r
Personaly to me - this is a hook-and-bait scam. \r
\r
Thirdly - They have a 3 month trial period - So...$48 x 3 months = $144. I bought a nice German made, cured and treated wood violin off craigslist for $140. Once we are done with it, I will sell it off for $140 again since it holds it value.\r
\r
Total loss in all this? $48 and a bad tast in my mouth from the feeling that i have been ripped off.\r
\r
you judge.\r
\r
PS: I just remembered - The guy in the store told me the insurance was $5.90 per month and they were chargin me for three months at a time. If i returned the instrument, they would refund the money. I returned the instrument but they refused to return my money.
