A nice museum to learn about Mobile 7/28/2005

I think it's very important for our Youth to learn about the history of where they live. This small museum does an excellent job of brining it all together. This area is rich with history: past hurricanes, Civil War Soldiers, slavery, Mardi Gras... it's all in here. There are lots of interactive displays for the younger crowd as well. The museum is easy to find and free parking is available at Ft Conde. A decent price for some family fun. more

What a little gem! 7/28/2005

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this little museum. Admission was free, which you can't complain about! The children were actually quite interested in learning that this firehouse was a group of volunteers. It took a while for that to sink in! The second floor gallery was seeped in the personal history of the firefighters. Museum was clean and the docent was most helpful. A fun adventure for the family. more

The home of the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Company No. 6. It has a marvelous collection of antique equipment and authentic 19th century steam engines. If you are into the the history of different cities, you will love visiting this Museum. more

What Mobile has to offer! 7/23/2005

You can come and see all the great things that Mobile has to offer. You can find just about everything. There is a history of Native American, Colonial, Afican American and Antebellum. There is also a hands on Gallery for both Kids and adults. Priced five dollars and under it is super cheap. more
