Murray's Tire Bargains

Gary & Reggie treated me right! They told me which tires did NOT need replacement (3 of 4), and why. Then Reggie took me to the warehouse and we picked a replacement for the 4th tire. They have a huge inventory of used tires, and, unlike a lot of used tire places, which store their used tires outdoors (collecting rainwater and mosquitoes), Murray's keeps theirs in a neatly organized warehouse. So they're installing nice, dry, clean tires on your rims, instead of the rust-inducing wet-on-the-inside tires that you might get elsewhere. Plus, Murray's used tire prices are a couple of bucks cheaper than the two other places I called. My Buick also needs an alignment, and I'll definitely be going to Murray's for that, too. more

Took my wifes car in for a second opinion on a repair another local (national chain) shop said I needed. The other shop said my car needed a camber kit for the rear to align it properly and it would be about $250 just for the kit installed. Murray's was able to align my car (within specs printed out for me) for less $$ and did not need the camber kit. I saved lots of money, and the staff there was very helpful. Each time I approached the main office, the mechanics outside would say hello and ask how they could help me. These guys know how to run a business AND treat people right. more

As a female, it's hard to walk out of a auto repair shop feeling good and smiling - but these guys manage it every time. They're fast, friendly, funny, and reasonably priced. They don't treat me like an idiot, and they've often gone above and beyond the call of duty in helping me out with my car. They're awesome. more

I'm an old curmudgeon and don't like anybody or anything, much less letting anybody touch my cars but these guys are the best thing going!!! I own older BMWs with many hundreds of thousands of miles and was in search of a tire place now that I'm back in Raleigh. Again, these guys are the real deal! It's an amazing well run and efficient business. Everybody working there looks like they absolutely love their job whether it's the owner or the folks picking up the lot. I can't say enough great things about these guys. It's the only place I'll go from now on. They bill themselves as a 'used tire' shop but they can more than handle alignments (great price!!!), brakes, suspension work, and new tires as well. No appointment necessary, just show up and they'll take amazing care of you. more

My wife and I searched the net for Auto Air Condition Repair Shops open on Saturday. We found Murray's, called, they seemed more friendly and courteous than most auto repair shops, so we paid them a visit. We could not have been more pleased. A gentleman greeted us in the parking lot, ushering us into a space and telling us we could seek service inside. Your price for checking and restocking our car with Freon was posted on your wall with the prices of many other services. In a short while, you told us we were set, we could drive until we experienced the car blowing hot air again, at which time we should return to Murray's, where they would be able to find where the leak was from, since they had put black oil in with the Freon as a tracking agent. It is Tuesday, the 19th, we are still cool as a cucumber in our PT Cruiser. It is rare that one feels confident with an auto repair shop, Murray's gives us the confidence we need to return for any reason, as well as recommend them to any friend or acquaintance. Also, the lady who was behind the counter offered us bottles of cold water, compliments of the establishment. What more could you ask, Murray's offers Cadillac service at a reasonable price. more

This place treats everyone like they are the most important customer they will see all day. The guys at Murray's from Gary, Rock, to the guy who is doing the work all treat you with the utmost respect and seem grateful for your business. This is one of the few places that I will let my wife go into alone to get work done to our vehicles and feel like she will get a fair deal every time....Thank you to you guys for still running a place that is trustworthy. more

Purchased four used tires that ride like new, and an alignment that was performed better than the Ford dealership repair after I wrecked my 2007 truck. I would recommend it to anyone in need of tires, alignments or whatever. Great customer service. I did not drop my truck off i waited and was expecting a super long wait, with all the customers they have and no appointment, I was still satisfied. I have been a customer of Murray's Tires for approximately 6 years. I am always impressed with the customer service. The staff are verrrrry friendly. The technicians are always happy and speaking. Staff at the front desk are always helpful, informative, and always recommending money-saving, plus good advice. They are never trying to beat you out of money like some of the large chains...um um Meineke, Jiffy Lube, etc... I just wanted to give Murray's KUDOS on a JOB well done EVERY time I visit there for tires, alignments, you name it. Even when you wait for your vehicle, they provide free bottled water and free soda. I am a happy customer who sends referrals to Murray's frequently. THANK YOU Murray's!! more

I have been going to Murray's for almost a decade now, always in the past for used tires. This time I needed new tires. I shopped around at Merchant's and Discount Tire before heading to Murray's. The two national chains wanted between $200-220 more for the exact same tire that Murray's was able to get me. I arrived at 9am, the lady behind the desk gave me a printout of all the tires that would fit my car. I chose a mid-range tire. She told me to pull into the bay and I returned to the waiting room. She offered me a soda or some coffee and told me about a special they were running on alignments. Much to my surprise and delight, my car was ready at 10:05am. The entire process was quick, affordable and painless. I really appreciate how they ended the transaction with a big smile and a firm handshake. It made me feel like they truly appreciated my business. It's those little touches that make Murray's special. There is no need to shop around anymore. I had been trying to find a competent car shop I could trust and I am so glad I found this place! I have taken my car there 2 different times and I always get the best service. One time my check engine light came on & it turned out to be nothing but a loose gas cap! I left there completely happy with their service & they didn't even charge me a thing!!! Friends of mine had used Murray's New & Used Tires and recommended them. I have used them a few times now, for tires and alignment, and had an awesome experience with them. Having purchased a full set of tires from Murray's several months ago, (which they were cheaper than the local warehouse club) I've gone back for another set. The staff is beyond outstanding ! Very knowledgeable of inventory and was able to order the tires we wanted within an hour. The technician was very peculiar and insured I was balanced on a dime. Driving an SUV, I've had other shops do the tires and try to tell me it was because of my truck. I drove away from Murrays both times smooth. Even though on the outskirts of downtown Raleigh, an older building,(yet well maintained - for a shop...very clean waiting areas inside and out) I think it's on the original site...tells you this family owned business must know something to be around as long as it has, how to treat you right, both in the pocket book and in customer relations. I trust the staff fully, to the point we told our daughter if her car starts acting funny or noises go to no other place than Murray's, I'm confident there will be no unnecessary repairs. I blew out a tire on the way home from a trip to FL. Having spent my disposal income on vacation Murray's was able to replace my tire with a more highly rated used tire quickly and inexpensively! Pros: Great customer service, lots of choices, knowledgable staff Cons: not the best part of town more

I recently noticed that my tires were bald and that I needed new brakes. Being new to the area and working downtown, I have not been to a tire dealer here in Raleigh. Luckily I found Murray's Tire. They had the tires that I needed in stock at a great price and did a great job on my brakes. The people were great to work with and explained what they were doing every step of the way. They saved me over $150 compared to the dealership and another tire store. These guys are family owned and have been around for a long time because they treat you right.
