I was driving up from Malibu on the old Pacific Coast Highway into Oxnard. At the Statham blvd. stop light I saw the building with a red car on side. I could read the words Car Museum. So I went around to have a look. The Murphy Auto Museum is open only on the weekends but there was someone at the front when I walked up. They were expecting a tour group that was supposed to arrive soon. They invited me in for a quick look since they were not busy. The oldest car was 1903 Oldsmobile that had been driven from San Francisco to New York! In the back they a row of great looking Packards and Cadillacs. These were America's top of the line cars in their time and more reliable than a Rolls Royce. The docents were great and I thanked them for their hospitality. I plan to come back on a weekend and bring my nephews to see the model railroad trains that they operate in the museum.
Pros: Has Packards and Cadillacs
Cons: Open only on weekends and by special arrangement.
