Best

I reluctantly allowed myself to be admitted to the ICU as I had DKA and my blood pressure was through the roof. I felt that I should just be given some insulin so I could continue...

Worst

DO NOT GO HERE, THIS HOSPITAL VIOLATES PLENTY LAWS AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN A LONG TIME AGO. Pros: null Cons: null

CRUMMY Emergency Room Visit 7/12/2011

I woke up with what I thought was a heart attack in the middle of the night. It turned out to be a severe panic attack that came out of nowhere, however a family member took me to Auburn Regional, I walked into the emergency room and N-O-O-N-E was at the front desk. I was feeling like I was going to faint, walking around looking for ANYONE to help me out before I dropped on the floor, A lady who was just randomly parusing the hall walked by me, I said I was having heart problems and I need help. She didnt say anything to me, and casually walked into a doorway and a few minutes later the front desk person walked out and handed me a clip board with paper to fill out. I lost my nerve that I could possibly be having a heart attack and you want me to fill out information other than a release. When I was seen, a nurse came in and put a heart rate gadget on my finger and left without turning on the machine and my urine sample sat UNLABLED on the counter until about 15 minutes later when someone grabbed it. It felt like the hospital of DOOM. God forbid there is a next time, but if there were, I'd rather go the extra 10 minutes to Valley Medical Center. Auburn Regional needs help, not the cleanest either. more

Awful ER experience!! 1/16/2011

On Friday, January 14th, at around 5:30pm, I visited the Emergency Room at Auburn Regional Medical Center. My two year old had her hand slammed in the door at daycare. When I arrived there were signs indicating to be seen, fill out paperwork on a clipboard and when finished lay it upside down in a basket and your name will be called. Feeling frantic, I filled the paperwork out and put it in the basket and continued to console my little girl. I waited and waited for even the paperwork to be taken out of the basket, as I watched the girl at check in desk chatting with another male hospital staff member on a break. She was the only one checking people in. I then asked at the information desk how long the wait would be and was told just to wait for a nurse to come out and they would be able to tell me. She also added that things like ear infections are prioritized last. As I paced waiting for a nurse to come through the door the security guard let me know there was a blue button to push for a nurse to come see me. I pushed the button and saw the nurses through a small door window look at me and I continued to wait. My daughter's hand was still bleeding and she was still crying and I felt so awful to make her wait for any sort of treatment. Even a band aid at this point would be suficient. The security guard called to the nurses station for one of them to come see me. Finally when a nurse arrived at the triage desk I told her that my little girl had her finger smashed in a door and I needed to know how long I would have to wait. Her response was that I would have to wait in line just like everyone else. Finally at this point the girl at the check in desk was speaking to the first patient since I had arrived. It must have been 20 minutes. I told the nurse my daughter's name and told her that I would go somewhere else and she just shouted at the check in girl to remove my paperwork that I would not be staying. more

Great Cardiac Rehab program 5/19/2010

My stepmother had her heart surgery at another hospital, but did rehab at Auburn Regional and had a wonderful experience. I had not heard a lot about the hospital, but it was convenient and recommended by her doctor. She did great and is back to leading a very active life. Pros: Close to home, quality program, caring staff Cons: none more

UNSAFE conditions, contamination, NEGLECT 4/30/2010

As a patient this past week at the Auburn facility for surgery, Total shoulder replacement. I woke to an iv line leaking blood .when i finally got the attention of the nurse she reattached it and walked away.I was transported to the 4th floor into a shared room and offered the wrong medication.asked them to check with my Dr. As i lay there waiting I noticed my right hand and forearm were covered in semi dried blood..45mins later when the nurse came back and tried to attach a device to my iv and I questioned her she got angry and said i refused pain meds, heres the kicker this nurse wouldnt even clean the blood up for me. now listen 6 years ago I was diagnosed with Hepatitus C. the blood I am refering to is infected and dangerous. after warning my family taking pictures and complaing as strongly as I could she walked in and with out gloves proceded to wipe this dried blood from my arm and the drain deviceinstalled to drain my shoulder NO GLOVES PEOPLE how many might she have infected. how do we warn everyone on the surgical floor that she exposed. THIS HOSPITAL IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED WHENEVER POSSIBLE. I was treated as though I was a problem for having to point out the mistakes 3 times with medication. A nurses responce to me after telling me the` combination of drugs she wanted to administer would seriously depress my ability to breathe.I expressed my concern as I have lung issues`anyway. she said I'll check on ya every hour or so. I said and what if I stop in between and this proffesional nurse looked me in the eye and said YOU WILL DIE and walked out. i obviously refused the meds. Pros: nothing about the surgical floor is acceptable Cons: everything about the nursing staff was deplorable more

Great hospital! 4/8/2010

Our family has utilized the services of ARMC several times over the past few years. We have found the hospital to have a caring, professional staff, a clean building, and great all around system! Pros: Fast ER, caring nursing staff, decent food, nice rooms Cons: Didn't have any cons for any of our visits more

Auburn Hospital is Hell 10/27/2009

My Dad who is an alzheimer's patient needed to be "relaxed" because of his tendencies of combativeness at his assisted living home. They recommended Auburn Geri-Psych so off he went. He spent 4 weeks there. And he walked in on his own two feet. When he came out he was in a wheelchair and so heavily medicated it would have put down a horse. They put him on five different meds to be given twice a day to keep him "managable". They admitted to needing five people to put him in "timeout" cuz he was combative. He's scared you idiots. They also admitted to using six people to give him a shower. This many against one happened numerous times. When I got him back he had serious sores on his heals from laying in bed so long. And he's whincing of pain in his hip. He has yet to walk again and after two months you would think he should come out of his dark hole that they put him in. They perscribed depacote, resperdal, adavan, and a few others to all be taken twice a day. He was able to run before going there. I hate that place. They don't know what the hell they're doing. And the people working up there don't really seem to care about what is best for the patient. A lot of money was paid to them and they should all be removed from the hospital. I gave them a rating of 1 cuz they did feed him. They suck! Pros: None Cons: They really don't know what they are doing more

Hopital from hell 8/8/2009

Auburn Regional Medical Center is ABSOLUTELY the WORST hospital I have been to in the last 10 years. I actually have a list of the unbelievably ridiculously awful things they do over there: more

a former employee 6/13/2009

Pros: none Cons: everything else more

bad place 6/9/2009

the social workers are the worst. Lots of errors upon my discharge. Go to Valley or Federal Way, but not Auburn. Pros: it is the only game in town Cons: it is the only game in town and they know it more

Not Recommended 4/26/2009

My dog stepped on my foot and it kept swelling up intermittently over a 2 month period. I went in on a Saturday explaining that I think it was broken and asked them to do x-rays. I waited for hours until they "wheeled me" up to "Ultrasound" and called me by a totally different name. After I explained that I was not that person, they looked annoyed with ME and "wheeled me" back to wait in my room for more hours without saying ONE word to me! Pros: None Cons: Unorganized and a Waste of Time more

Messy place, critical short on Nurses and Doctors, unorganized and scary 4/1/2007

wanna see Doctors, Nurses every day under stress, yelling on each other? How about stinky homeless people in your room? If so, close your eyes and go there. more
