Breath taking scenery! My boyfriend took me there this past weekend and during the one hour loop walk he got down on one knee and proposed! The trees are mind blowing and the smell of the redwoods is incomparable! Perfect romantic setting for couples and great information on history of park/trees/ and america! I HIGHLY recommend this park! B-E-A- UTIFUL! more

Must for nature lovers, beautiful trails and picture oppts! 8/13/2006

Visited from NJ for a week, and drove a few minutes to see some Redwood trees. Only $3, good for kids, or romantic stroll. Don't miss it, unless you want to drive 18 hours from SF to Redwood City, CA where there are other Redwoods! Pros: Beautiful pictures, nature trails, nice treat away from city more

Among the Giants 7/26/2002

Muir Woods is like a cathedral constructed of giant redwoods. It is serene and inspiring. On a hot, Marin County day, the coolness is soothing and welcome. Rangers are available for interpretation. The creeks are full of interesting forest life. A unique and wonderful place. Pros: non-commercial, beauty everywhere, quiet more

so close but it takes you so far away 7/18/2002

Muir Words has gigantic redwoods and its so close when most of us think of the redwoods we think of having that long drive up to avenue of the giants in humbolt. Muir woods is a local friendly place where the drive is relaxing but not overwhelmingly long. it has the grandure and aweinspiring site of the trees in humbolt but its right here in our back yard if you want to get back to nature and see what california was like before we all got here then visit muir woods . its so close but it takes your mind so far away Pros: close, friendly people, inexpensive more

Muir Woods, a definite must stop 5/25/2002

The trails are very relaxing while the river runs through the forest and the trees are amazing themselves. Very easy trail to walk on and is something not to miss when in SF. I have been to numerous places including Monterey, Yosemite, ect. and I would include this in your travels based on all the places I have been. Pros: no mosquitoes, nice path, tranquil more
