Getting my hair cut at the Mug n Brush is an existentially liberating experience. I often leave with a clear purpose, an enlightened understanding of who I am, what I am, and where I'm going in this life. Maybe it's the deft, smooth, and calculated precision of Jim's deconstructionist styling technique. It might be the cultural revolution within: the general feeling that in this small shop is the beginning of Brave New Hair, the vanguard of Revolution in Style. \r \r I usually wander into the Mug n Brush aimlessly, clueless as to my ""style"", wondering where I fit in, just another pebble on the beach....After my blubbering, rambling diatribe explaining why The Mullet is the only style that makes any clear conceptual sense, Jim, the steadfast owner of M & B, nods quietly, recognizing and understanding the Moral Dilemna that has crossed his threshold so many times before......He carefully weaves in and out of the icy territorial waters that plague a metrosexual man's hair identity crisis. I plop down in the comfortable Chair of Transformation and, like a good bartender with a stiff drink, the Captain of the Coif listens to my sad and sordid tale...... \r \r After a few minutes of banter, Jim literally cuts to the chase, having sized up my type, my character, my condition. With careful reassurances, he quietly goes about his craft, turning this cave-dweller into a Modern Man. With thoughtful and polite conversation, I'm lulled into complacency as The Master decides my Fate. In what seems like five minutes, the chair whips around as I face myself in the mirror. With heavenly-type harpsichord music as my soundtrack, I realize again that the Mug n Brush ROCKS. It's a place where, with only a small amount of direction, I can let someone with superior strength, knowledge, skill and understanding create a piece of art just for me. I've been getting my hair cut with Jim at the Mug N Brush for two years now. I used to absolutely hate hair cuts, but Jim's cut my hair perfect every time and I no longer have to worry about getting a bad cut. In addtion to great hair cuts, Mug N Brush has low prices and a great atmosphere. Jim's done an amazing job remodeling the shop and hiring high caliber employees. Jim has been cutting my hair since I moved to Columbus over 5 years ago. I told him how to cut it the very first time and i have not had to tell him since. He consistantly does a great job and that is the most important thing for me. He is very flexible with his schedule and always seems to find time to squeeze customers in. Long history of haircuts from Jim. Takes his time and does a very good job. I couldn't exist without one of his infamous haircuts. He is working very hard to get the shop the way he wants it to be now that he owns it. The best thing he has done was to buy the shop. I've been going to Jim for about 5 years now, and I am always happy with my haircut. Whenever I'm not sure what I want, he comes up with ideas that always work. The prices are great too. Although I am in the minority (a woman), I would highly recommend Jim's barber shop to all women. Why, you ask? Because there's alot of men there! No, truthfully, I am extremely particular about my hair. I get the best cut of my life, as well as color. First, and most important, Jim can cut hair very well. Aside from that, he's got a great shop, is friendly, and is very knowledgable about music and local happenings without being pretentious. I'm extremely picky about my hair and have ""broken-up"" with many stylists in Columbus because the first cut is cool and every subsequent cut was a journey downhill. Jim has been cutting my hair for around a year now. He's wonderful; his technique is consistent. He always gives me great cuts with an edge...he gets that I don't want to look like a soccer mom. I've been coming the Mug-N-Brush for over a year now. Jim is one of the best barbers I have had since I moved to columbus in 1999. He's got a great personality and he's a lot fun to talk to. He's been in the business for quite awhile and always does a great job with my cuts. The shop itself is getting a few updates added. Once it is complete its going to look great. Jim has been cutting my hair for almost 6 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I left town for a year and always tried to plan my haircuts around return trips to Columbus. The atmosphere of Jim's shop is relaxed and comfortable, the conversation is always great. Every one of my cuts have been scheduled that day with a phone call asking when I can get squeezed in....never a problem. Jim is a great barber. Good to talk to, always friendly, and easy to work with. I just got a cut yesterday, the prices are great, and the atmosphere is always fun, different people coming in, things happening on High Street. I have heard some great music there, always something cool playing. I have been going for a few years, starting back when I worked downtown, and he was at the old shop. It is a little out of my way now, but well worth it, and not just for the haircut. Jim and Adam are a lot of fun, and worth the drive from wherever you live. more

Jim Morris has been cutting my hair for 20 years. I have followed him to every shop in which he has worked. He has given both of my children their first haircuts and is the only barber that can cut my eldest son's incredibly challenging hair.
