Best

Great sushi and very fresh. Nice decor and always fun on half price thursday. They also have many other asian dishes for those who do not like sushi. Pros: Nice Saki selection...

Worst

I have been to Mt. Fuji on several occasions now. The food is okay. No better or worse than P.F. Changs. The problem is the service and atmosphere. Each time, the service has been...

Excellent find! 3/23/2006

I worked in sushi restaurants for 2 years, so let me tell you that this place is great. The food is pricey but not unreasonably so and it is gorgeous inside. As for all the negative comments about the service, I know firsthand that sushi restaurants usually have 2 kitchens (a sushi bar and a hot food kitchen) and it is very difficult to time between them. If your food arrives separately, it is almost NEVER the server's fault, but rather the kitchens fault for improper timing while cooking (I hate to see people blaming fellow servers for things that servers have little control over. Luckily now I work in a diner with one kitchen where that is rarely a problem.) Pros: food, atmosphere more

A great find 2/28/2006

Mount Fuji has the best sushi I have had in the triangle to date. Their other dishes are equally appealing, especially the curries. Also, they are very vegetarian friendly and will substitute tofu for just about all of the meat dishes on their menu. The bar area is very small, and right in front of the kitchen, not someplace to go and have a drink at the bar. Pros: great food, good value Cons: poor bar location more

Loved it for lunch 1/27/2006

This is my favorite lunchtime restaurant. I have yet to have the sushi, but my co-workers and I love the noodle dishes (home made noodles and lots of veggies) and the chicken dishes. The price is good, the booths are private and the service very good. It is good for a romantic meal or private business conversation. There is a cozy looking room in the back that looks great for a meal with kids, a large group or a romantic dinner. more

Best Sushi in North Carolina 1/26/2006

My husband and I moved to NC from Los Angeles a year ago. In LA, we lived near ""sushi row"" where there were several blocks of the best sushi in the state. Mt. Fuji rivals the big city sushi restaurants and is the best we have found in North Carolina (and we've tried many). The staff is fabulous, the food melts in your mouth -- and the Mt. Fuji roll is a must try. more

Best Durham Sushi 1/9/2006

We really liked Mt. Fuji. The presenation of our orders was really nice, better than I've experienced at any sushi bar in recent memory (in Durham, CH, Ral). The service was a little disappointing, our plates arrived a few minutes apart, but we'll chalk that up to bad luck. Pricing, a few reviews have complained about the prices. But I thought that they were reasonable. Consider this: A WholeFood sampler costs $13. The Mt. Fuji nigiri sampler was $16. The prices are similar but I kind of wanted to take a picture of my plate at Fuji. Pros: quality, price, location Cons: decor, service more

A pleasant experience 12/27/2005

Sampled the tuna tataki - very fresh. The pineapple-shrimp fried rice was to DIE FOR. Our dinner mates reported that the sushi was very fresh and the massaman curry was very tasty. Loved the relaxing euro-lounge background music, and the decor and architecture of the building set a nice atmosphere. I will agree with comments about service - main courses not arriving promptly for everyone. However, the service irregularities were easy enough to overlook with everything else the restaurant has going for it. Pros: tasty food, decor, ambience Cons: service more

Great Food but pricey 12/15/2005

I had my first vist to Mt. Fuji last night. Food was great, especially the Sushi. Main dishes were quite pricey for the amount served. Service was fantastic. Noodles were appropriately priced and there was an ample amount. I would go back but only for a special occasion because of the main meal prices. Thank you. Pros: Great food, quiet dining, good variety on menu Cons: main dishes pricey, booths are uncomforta, need asian desserts more

pleh! 11/26/2005

the sushi is great but all the other food has been completely disapointing. The one bartender that made that place is now gone...yhe place is going down hill fast Pros: Bartenders, Sushi Cons: inconsistent more

Not too impressed 11/24/2005

The food wasn't too great - for the price we paid, we expected to have better tasting food. The server was friendly, but everyone's food should be served at the same time - not one by one (my friend's food sat in front of her for 10 minutes before I got my entree). Also, the entree plates should not be cleared until everyone is finished with their food! more
