Embarrassing Lack of Competence from Owners 8/1/2024

For months I have seen nothing but terrible business practices at this establishment. Mistreatment of their staff, owners often nowhere in sight to assist customers, total disregard for running a respectable business and making it an environment where customers will find it memorable and worthy of returning. It's frequently difficult to come into this store and get any sort of assistance with how understaffed the owners keep this place. The staff truly are doing wonders with keeping the shop on its legs because it's evident to me that the owners do not. Not to mention the outdated website that is completely inaccessible to navigate. Truly disappointing. more

Management is awful and it shows. The only thing keeping this store together are the workers, but they're so understaffed that they can't handle the workload that they get from the customers and management itself. Great workers and service, but it doesn't look good for the owners if their part time workers have to do full time work to keep the business afloat. more

BEST bookstore in North Carolina!! 2/2/2007

Mr. Mike's store is chock full of entertainment - from the books to the employees. While I've never see Mr. Mike himself the other employees are courteous and knowledgeable. They have a large selection, and it takes me at least 2 hours to go through all the sections. I've found that the credit and cash given is extremely fair, especially if you trade in or sell books that are in excellent condition. Do think about giving Mr. Mike's Books a chance, especially during daytime hours. Joseph - the young man who works most week days - is very entertaining! more

Bigger selection 9/14/2005

This used bookstore has a bigger selection than 2nd Chance, but also lacks the same character.... There is ample parking and it is conveniently located next to a pizza place. more

Mr. Mikes is an excellent place to look for any used books taht you might need. A great example of a fine independent used bookstore, mr. mikes has a knowledgeable staff and an extensive colection of quality used books to choose from at reasonable prices more

Mr. Mikes has a good selection of nice used books 7/8/2005

Mr. Mike’s accepts your used books for cash or trade. I’ve had good experiences with both the cash & the trade (which can be used for anything in the store), as he (Mr. Mike himself) gives a good, fair amount. I have found that the women who work there tend to be a lot stingier with the cash/credit. In terms of his stock, he keeps a good number of books in all categories so that everyone can find something they want. 95% of the books and audiobooks are in very nice condition. His prices are comparable to other used bookstores in the area. Parking is ample, as it is within a strip mall complex. more
