I will absolutely use Mr. Handyman of S. Orange/ Westfield/ Scotch Plains & Metuchen again! The handyman was timely, and he was thorough in explaining what needed to be done to accomplish the work I requested he evaluate. He had very good recommendations about things around the home that I could plan out later, and I really appreciated that. He was very diligent about how he worked the entire day he was at my home. Ann is the one who called me back after my initial phone call. She was extremely thorough and helpful in explaining the pricing structure, my options, how they work and how they vet their contractors. It gave me a very good comfort level that not only was their professionalism up to par, but that there were internal controls from the company that could make me feel at home working with them. more

Good 3/3/2014

Mr. Handyman is a pretty good company. We used them for a lot of jobs around our house in the past six months. They updated a bathroom and completely renovated our basement for us. I really liked the aspect of being able to pick and choose things that we are able to buy supplies for and fix on our own to save money and have them handle the rest of the things that we didn't feel comfortable doing ourselves. I liked that we worked together as a team. There was one instance where we encountered some plumbing issues. We didn't know the specific supplies that we needed so we paid them to purchase them for us. They got the piping sizes wrong twice and still charged us for the base price of them coming out for the job. I wasn't so pleased with that since their error delayed the job and they still charged us for it. All in all, the folks at Mr. Handyman do excellent work. Dennis, Bruce, and Anne are all very helpful and professional. They always arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. I'd maybe hire them again if they were more lenient on charging for service involving mistakes that they made. more

Dependable! 2/26/2014

Mr. Handyman of S. Orange/ Westfield/ Scotch Plains & Metuchen came and redid my bathroom for me. It was my first time using them, and they did a great job! If something wasn't done, or if they forgot something, they would come right back and fix it up. They were very timely. They were on time every morning, and they stuck to the time they said they would do the work in. The price was good. more

Excellent craftsmanship. Prompt service. 2/25/2014

Mr. Handyman of S. Orange/ Westfield/ Scotch Plains & Metuchen have done several projects for me. I continue to use them because David has excellent craftsmanship skills. They renovated a bathroom at a rental property I own. That was done beautifully. They also redirected a down spout at a property away from the house. All of their work is very high quality. Both of those projects were done perfectly. I also appreciate how timely they are. I highly recommend their services. more

Fair price 2/20/2014

There were a couple items that I needed fixing in my house so I called Mr. Handyman because I heard they were a legitimate company. After the work was completed the gentleman charged me a fair price and even said I would get a discount the next time I used them. more

Greg from Mr. Handyman of South Orange was prompt, clean, and did a beautiful job. He communicated well and was a nice gentleman. When I left, he was here and I felt comfortable leaving him here. I came back and the job was done. He answered all my questions very well. more

Surpassed expectations 1/10/2014

A small initial project unexpectedly turned out to be more complicated. The servicemen were able to adjust and did an excellent job on diagnosing the situation and then repairing it including removal of wall , electrical connection and lights. After repair, replacement particle board, sparkling and painting were done with precision and excellence. All scheduled visits took place at the exact scheduled time. Customer service and follow up also superior. more

Top notch service 12/31/2013

I'm very, very pleased with the courteous and punctual work of Mr. Handyman. Greg is just wonderful. He has fixed various things around my home along with installing a new tile floor. I absolutely recommend him if you want a professional, knowledgeable, polite, and practical handyman. Their rates are very reasonable and their work is exemplary. I won't be using anyone else! more

Mr. Handyman did everything I wanted them to do and more. 11/22/2013

I'm very particular. What Mr. Handyman of S. Orange/Westfield/Scotch Plains & Metuchen did was create a walk-in closet and then they also broke down an existing closet, which was a pretty significant structure. They did everything in a very neat and orderly fashion. We were trying to save as much material as we could and they did an excellent job doing that for us. When they left every day, it was as if they had never been there. They not only saved material, but I had leftover material. They did an amazing job. They're pretty hands-on. The gentleman that I started the whole experience with remained ever-present for us throughout the entire life cycle of the project. He was accessible any time I needed to reach him. If he didn't pick up right away, he got back to me very quickly. I also had access to people in the office. They relayed messages quickly. They're an honest company and they understand what you're trying to do. They gave very worthwhile feedback and also had very good suggestions. They're neat, they come in on time, and in my case they even came in under budget. more

Easy to work with. Quality work. Worth the wait. 11/21/2013

Mr. Handyman did a bathroom renovation for us. They knocked out a wall and also did miscellaneous handyman stuff around the house. I found them to be competent, detail-oriented, and skilled. They were also very easy to work with, flexible, and accommodating. They were extremely communicative when it came to scheduling jobs. In the beginning they accessed the job and provided a time estimate. Everything came out amazingly. My only issue was that it took a lot longer than estimated. Whatever time estimate they give you, double it. You can trust, though, that the job will be done perfectly, so it will be worth it in the end. more
