Moyes Glass

I had the old aluminum windows in my home replaced by Moyes Glass. Recently I noticed the bigger dining and front room windows having problems opening and closing. I got bids, even from Moyes Glass. I chose Moyes Glass since they originally installed the windows and would only charge for materials. Big Mistake! I remembered Moyes Glass installed one big window and broke the windowsill and damaged the wall. I thought they would be responsible for replacing the tile and fixing the wall but not according to them. I had to pay extra to have the tile replaced and I fixed my own wall. They did fix the two big windows so they would open and latch close. The bad thing however, they used the same latch for both the left and right sides, which put one latch on each window up-side down! The caulk job was a nightmare. I found out that the caulk they originally used was some nasty concoction they formulated that they admitted was a bad idea because it dried, cracked and didn't remain pliable, changing color from white to a nasty yellow. When it rained, water ran behind the windows and down the inside of the walls, even down my concrete walls in the basement. Others who bid, even commented how bad the caulk was. I really thought, especially after admitting that their caulk job was bad, that Moyes Glass would at least redo the caulking. All they did however, was run a little caulk on the inside here and there over the old caulk and didn't even attempt to caulk the outside at all. When I asked about it, their response was "Oh, that's going to cost you more!" And that was not just for caulk but labor too. What they quoted was more than all the other bids! Are you kidding me? I didn't name names, but every bidder (I got 6 bids) said whoever installed these windows sure did a sh#%y job because the windows were not measured correctly and the caulk was bad and the bigger windows had some weird trim in order to make them fit. One bidder did ask straight out: "Did Moyes Glass do this install?" I said yup. He responded "Explains a lot." more

I need parts for my sliding screen door that goes from my kitchen to my deck. I called Moyes to find out if they carried what I needed. I was told I could come down with measurements and then they could order what I needed and I could also show them on the display floor what it was. My schedule is limited and there hours are not convenient for me so it took me about a week to find time to get in. I went to the store yesterday and when I told them sales man what I needed he was very rude and unfriendly. He told me don't have it, can't get it. I told him that I had called prior. He reiterated, Don't have it, Cant get it. Then later he said he might be able to order. At that point I had decided I had, had enough and I took my business elsewhere. I don't understand how these guys figure they can sell anything with the poor customer service they portray. I would recommend these guys as a last resort. Also get used the phrase, "Don't have it, Cant get it." more
