I bought new pontoon boat in April 2008. The running lights would cause the breaker to turn off the lights. Also, water came through the pontoon floor while riding. A phone call to my salesman promised to get it fixed. I towed it over an hour and 1/2 to get fixed with the promise it would be completed the day I brought it for repairs. I also purchased a trolling motor and fish finder for the boat to be installed. The service department (Al) told me no problem completing the work by days end. When I returned at 6 pm I was told that I would have to return the following day to get my boat. It was not ready. Not happy but what could I do, I left and returned the next day. At noon it was ready. (So I was told.) Took the boat back home and put it in water to find the running lights would not stay on and water continued to come through the floor. The trolling motor and finder worked fine. I phoned the salesman (John Love) back and he said he would have Al to call me. Three weeks later no call. So I called again. This time John connected me to Al. Al said he would find someone in my area to fix the boat since I spent two days on a one day job plus a one way hour and half ride and I didn?t want to do it again. Al said he would call me with the information of a place in my area to get it repaired. A month later no phone calls. I called Al. He was not in. Next day I called Al. He did not remember me or anything about me or the boat. My salesman (John was great help) was no longer with the company. Al told me the only way to get my boat fixed was to bring it back to them. He was not the nice person as he was when I was buying things. I have written StarCraft but I seem to get the same response or no response from them. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends. Pros: Good price on new boat Cons: The worst service department more

No service after the sale. 3/31/2008

Had 2 radios go bad with 2 months after I bought the boat from them. When I bought the boat they told me that there was a year warranty on it and said nothing about only replacing items one time. So I had to go buy another radio for 200 bucks. Next example is that I had a seat cushion that was losing its form, so I drove down and they looked at it and ordered me another one and said they would call me when it come in. They did call me when it come in and I ask them when I could come pick it up, they said they were open anytime but service department was not open on Sunday but said I could come pick it up then because all they had to do was give them my old seat and take the new one. So I went in on Sunday and told someone that I was there to get my seat and he said that service was closed on Sunday and I would have to come back, keep in mind that I live about an hour away so I did not want to drive back again as high as gas is, after having words with this guy he finally got on the phone and talked to someone that said all he needed to do was switch the seat out. I told him that this is one of the reasons that I did not refer people to buy from him and he told me that if that is the way I felt not to come back! This is no way to run a company, before I left I ask who this guy was because I was going to call his boss and he then told me that he was the owner! I would hate to think that as tough as times are getting right now that I would not dare talk to customers like that. Just be careful and make sure that who ever you buy from will treat you good after they sell you the boat. In this case they got there money and now are not worried about me! This will catch up them sooner or later... more
