Wow! Is all I have to say about this place. The customer service I received was beyond and above what I expected to receive. I shopped around before making my decision to buy. The sales person that I was dealing with name was Aaron Hawkins. He was very easy to deal with and gave me the best pricing right away. The whole process was made very easy from the time I got there from the time I left was less than an hour. I heard rumors that this place had a bad rep but I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in a motorcycle. I have sent several of my friends there to buy motorcycles. I have not used the service department yet but everyone seemed very pleasant. Mr. Hawkins walked me through the dealership and I was even able to see my motorcycle as they were assembling it. He was even able to take me to the parts counter and get me a discount on my helmet and jacket. I am very pleased at cant say enough about my experience there. This made my first motorcycle experience really a great one! more

If you are looking for customer service than you should look elsewhere. They may be able to sell you a bike but the rest of it you should take somewhere else. Service staff is untrained in how to explain anything pertaining to motorcycle repair or maintenance. You,the customer, lack of knowledge or failure to use their maintenance programs is always the culprit . Their prices are fair ( if you need a $50 inspection fee everytime your motorcycle is there for loose nut) and I cant fault the mechanics they are just doing their job. If you put poor customer service together with an unresponsive management doesn’t equate to satisfied customers. Find somewhere else ... more

This is the Walmart of shops, kinda of 6/9/2012

This is the Walmart of shops, kinda of to big for there own good. Every one that works there kinda seems to know just what they need to know and thats it. Most of them have that I dont want to be here feeling to them. Work is slow and they always seem to have some excuse I have given them a few chances thinking that they where having a bad day but its always the same way. I have given them up for good there are way to many shops in the Tampa area to put up with ths one. And one last thing it is not a big deal to call someone and keep them updated on the progress of there vehicle, and if there is going to be a problem and work wont be done on time it would be a big plus to give them a call, no one likes to guess when there stuff is ready. more

Not a bad place. 4/18/2012

Sometimes when I read the horror stories posted, I have to wonder what people may have done to agitate a situation to get that type of reply from the staff. I've been using Motorsports for over a year and have had very good sucess with them. It is true that sometimes their timing is not perfect, but I have never ever ever been treated horrible by anyone. I've been in their store over a dozen times for either repairs or just to purchase supplies but have not been treated like dirt on any of these occassions. All my repairs have been satisfactory. Maybe the coffee could be fresher, but that's about it. \r My repairs includes: front tire, then rear tire, brakes, oil changes, a windshield and now another oil change. Nothing too intense. Maybe its just me, but I treat people with respect and I've always seemed to have gotten it back from this crew. Keep up the good work. And N-O. I don't work for these guys, but am just a satisfied customer. more

BAD EXPERIENCE, POOR SERVICE AT MOTORSPORTS OF TAMPA 3/20/2012

I was surprised at the terrible attitude, service and M.O. of this place and will never go back again. I'll spare you the saga details but in essence this is what happened: -Brought 2 motocross bikes in. Dropped off on Monday Am for Friday completion so we could go riding on Sat. Called on Wed to check up , stopped by in person to really check up, called on Friday to verify, stopped by in person at 5:30 pm Friday to p/u bikes-- not ready. They tell me to come back Sat Am and I do. My bike is not touched. -So I say ok, I take my bike back so i can go riding with my son and say I'll bring it back Mon AM which I do. I repeat the whole process and leave it a week (call Wed, show up in person on Thurs, call on Fri, then show up on Fri at 5 pm. Bike not touched. They tell me to back Sat Am. Come back Sat AM at 11 AM-- bike not touched. 2 trips (rented a trailer each time), left it for a week each time, promised each time it would be no problem. Called and came in person to check up. Each time promised in person and told it was on the bench. Each time it was never even touched. 2 weeks, 6 round trips. Worst part was their attitude. -Snide comments, bad attitudes, low employee moral. Talked about how busy they were, meanwhile each time I'm at the shop I see 3-4 people standing out back smoking. -When your patient with them they screw you over. As soon as you raise a stink about it they get a terrible attitude. Simply put a bad taste in my mouth and made me realize how poor some company's are run. As a business owner my self, I could tell this co is in trouble based on the attitude of the employees. -The final straw was when I was taking my bike back for the second time and all pissed off, a smart alec wise ass comes out and says ""before you load your bike cna u do me a favor and move your car. You are blocking our (service area garage door)."" RU freaking kidding me? I wait 2 weeks and make 6 trips of wasted time and you can't wait 3 minutes while I load my bike by myself! He should have been over there helping me and apologizing for getting the shaft. Instead he starts mouthing to me and I lost my temper telling him I should knock his smile off. As a 44 yr old family man and wealthy business owner-- this was the first time in years I lost my temper--- that's how bad these people are. I have zero affiliation with this co, any employees, this industry and am just a local dad who bikes with my 2 young boys and wanted to let people know about my terrible experience with them. Even though I live fairly close and Tampa Motosports is more convenienct, I will drive past them and go somewhere else. On a separate note, I read the reviews below and believe the good reviews were written by the co. They are all about the same length, same style, written all at the same time (within days of eachother) all say Tampa Motorsports and other tell tale similar writting style. Where as all the bad reviews are sporatic dates, longer and very different. more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! AVOID, Can't even do an change oil right! 12/1/2011

here do I start? I guess for one, I recently bought a brand new motorcycle, not from this dealer but these guys are near where I work so it's closer and decided I'd use them for my servicing. WARNING: if you didn't buy from Motorsports of Tampa they'll let you know it and make you feel like a second class citizen. In the weeks prior to my horrible experience I had called them a couple of times with questions and NOONE answers in the service department, so much for service. I'd get someone in sales and they'd put the call through to service but it'd just ring endlessly. I called 2-3 times before I finally got someone, and this happened on several different occasions. Now on to the good stuff. As I said, I just bought a new bike, only had it for a month and half and only put a little over 200 miles on it. The service manual for my bike says to have the oil changed at either the 600 Mile 1st Service or after one month, since I wasn more

Off the Meter Good! 9/9/2011

Customer satisfaction ratings, in my book, are more than five stars. They're off the meter good, with everything they do there. I purchased my bike there; I've serviced my bike there; and I will continue to do business there. more

Knowledgeable Thoroughness 9/8/2011

When I was on the market for a motorcycle, I was referred to MotorSports of Tampa, and this has been one of the best referrals I've ever gotten. Best customer relations there. They truly are looking out for your best interests. Has thorough answers for all questions - very knowledgeable. I'm extremely happy with my new bike. more

Scoot Scoot! 9/6/2011

One day I decided I know longer want to drive my car around the city; it would be more convenient to drive a scooter. So, I went into MotorSports of Tampa to see what kind of scooters they had, and I must say, I absolutely love my little scoot scoot! Everyone was very helpful, and informative, and really patient with me. Thank you. more

Great Customer Satisfaction 9/1/2011

I've had a bike for quite sometime now, and I wouldn't think of going to any other motoshop besides Motorsports of Tampa. Just like with any other auto shop, you'd like everyone to be honest, respectable, thorough, informative, and that is exactly what you get there. Thank you guys for the continuous great customer satisfaction. more

Great Business 8/22/2011

It's great knowing that there's a store with employees that know all about their business. I'm a big motorcyclist, and sometimes I just like to see what's on the market, and every time I go into MotorSports of Tampa, they will update me on the newest items, and I really appreciate that. Thank you guys for being so knowledgeable and personable. more

GSXR 8/19/2011

Got my gsxr here a little over 4 months ago. I'll be cliche and say that I love it and it's the best thing ever. And I'll go ahead and add that it's my baby and I take the best care of it. They were cool people, easy to deal with. Thumbs up to you guys. more

Worst dealership in tampa 11/16/2009

This was really the worst dealership I had ever been to. Their parts and service departments are a joke. Put my older bike in for basic service (tires, chain, oil/fluid change) and they told me it would be ready the next day when the parts arrived. 5 days later after repeated calling they finally said my bike was ready and I could pick it up. It was close to their closing time and they said they would have it out front ready. After rushing over noone knew anything about it and I had to go in the back to find it. I found my bike still disassembled with the seat, battery and side fairings still off. After I put it back together myself I found the battery to be dead and had to jump the bike off. After finally getting out of there I pulled away to find that my bike would no longer stay running unless the choke was partially out. I also noticed it slipping in third gear. I called the next day just to have them tell me it mustve had that problem before hand and they couldn't help me. I NEVER went back to them again and after having similar experiences many of my riding buddies stopped going as well. I recommend anyone looking to buy or have their bike serviced avoid motorsports of tampa like the plague. Horrible customer service not to mention they outright damaged my bike. Make the drive to either barneys or out to pasco where you'll actually be treated decently and so will your equipment. more

Deceptive advertising 11/28/2008

I will never darken the door of this establishment again. They advertised a child's ATV for $999 (MSRP of $1849). When we got there the price was $875 - what a great deal, right? After they took all my credit card info and we waited half an hour for paperwork to be completed, the final price was $1,792! Freight of $548 and dealer prep of $199. And the fine print in the ad said nothing about fees. We have purchased several bikes at Barney's of St. Pete and have never had that problem there. Barney's charges a nominal dealer prep - maybe $100. more

Absolutely the worst dealership of any kind for anything. 6/7/2008

They are the typical dealership that comics make jokes about, customers complain about - absolutely typical dealership patheticism. First - they're very anxious to sell, promise you everything and deliver on nothing. My experience (and like Jesus' miracles in the bible, this is just a sample). First, promised a bike brand new, they delivered a used one. Second, they promised us a financing rate after credit was checked thoroughly - didn't get it. Third, eventual bike, new, delivered damaged and wouldn't replace damaged parts. Their logic ""it'll get damaged anyway when you ride it"". I could go on and on and on (this represents about .25% of the problems). Do not think that this is an isolated incident or I am someone who somehow created this or exaggerating. Pay the extra money and use Barney's in St. Petersburg, or really, almost anyone else - Pasco County treats you well too - you will not have a positive experience at TampaBay Motorsports - just google them in the forums and you'll see - nor, will you have a promise or agreement fulfilled, or treated well, or get what you want or pay for. They will go out of business eventually and it will be a good thing. The owner, not the GM (which they've gone through several) is basically the George Steinbrenner of this dealership - the biggest A-SH---- in the world and he has too many dealerships pulling profits to give a damn about a $4500 purchase. Go see Jeff at Barney's or Pasco Cycles. Trust me, everyone has this experience there. I didn't listen to the reviews, just figured I was different - I wasn't and learned my lesson. You've been warned. Pros: Location Cons: Everything Else more

motorsports of tampa on florida ave, if you want extreme slow service for your seadoo supercharger they are your guys 5/2/2008

held my seadoo rxp 2007 for over month claiming to be waiting for parts (supercahrger rebuild kit). I called Barneys of st pete, and they had multiple supercherger kits in stock the whole time. Motorsports just gives excuses and more excuses. They never returned my calls either, \r \r I'll never use Motorsports of Tampa again! more

Terribly rude people 4/22/2008

The general manager, David, was very rude to me today 4/22. The former general manager two months ago had booked my timeshare condo using Motorspots of tampa information and I had paid a $25 dollar reservation fee for him which he never paid me and he cancelled right before the checkin date, but agreed to pay reimburse me the $25 fee. He made the reservation through motorsports of Tampa. When I called just to inquire after the $25 fee in a polite manner, the current general manager was very rude, told me how stupid I was and that it was not his problem and then hung up on me. Unbelievably rude people there. more
