I hired Mortensen Tree Service to trim my trees and shrubs. They did an excellent job. One thing I do wish they did was be a bit more clear that there services are about natural form pruning. It wasn't exactly what my wife was expecting. Once he got to the job site he did a good job. But it did take awhile for him to get to our place he is so busy. He organizes everything by area to maximize time which is good but it got stretched out. It took him about a week or two before he could get out to the property and he was a bit late. Other than that Mortensen Tree Service was a pleasure to work with. more

I have been using Mortensen Tree Service for about two or three years. Mark, the owner, and his team come out around twice a year. Mark comes to my home to give an estimate and then he brings in his crew to do the job. Mark is very easy going, easy to work with, and an all around likeable guy. He has done several different services for me, from consulting, to tree trimming, and tree removal. All of his services have been really good. I can't compare his service to anyone else, because they're the only tree service I've used. But, they really work with you in terms of pricing. They'll do their services biannually or quarterly, so you don't have to pay all at once. One of the best things that has come out of their services was that they have recommended EnviroTree treatments for my trees, to help them blossom. As a result of their services, my trees have really blossomed. My trees are really healthy and so much better looking. I would recommend Mortensen Tree Service. more

Mark Mortensen of Mortensen Tree Service is absolutely excellent. I have had him do work for me twice now, and would hire him again without hesitation. About a year or two ago he had cut a tree down next to our driveway because it was interfering with the cars in the neighborhood, and more recently they trimmed our front tree and did an excellent job. They also made sure not to leave a mess, which was very much appreciated. Because Mark is an arborist he knows exactly what he is doing, and is not just choosing random branches and cutting them off. What I loved most about him was how he showed me a catalog of work that he had already done, and also recommended products for us to use in order to maintain our trees. We bought two bottles of Envirotree from him in order to keep our trees, plants, and lawn green. At first I was hesitant to buy the product because it was a little pricey, but sooner than I thought I had seen very good results. I don't think my lawn has ever been so green! Mark definitely knows what he is doing and is great at it, but Mortensen's Tree Service really lives up to its name by providing actually great service. He and his helpers are wonderful, kind, and caring. When we had put in another order for EnviroTree his wife actually came to our house and personally delivered the product. We needed to have a tree near our driveway cut down. Another tree in our front yard needed trimming (had probably never been done). Mark came to give an estimate. We were impressed with his knowledge, preparation, notebook of pictures and description of what would be done. Customer Service is TOPS! Professional work is completed with great care and with Arborist knowledge. All areas of work were properly cleaned up. Mark told us about Enviro Tree and showed pictures of dramatic difference to trees and grass. (He 'COULD' do the application, he told us, however, he also said it would be easy enough for us to do.) We are pleased that we decided to make the purchase! Our tree is now a beautiful deep green color. We knew before that some nutrient was missing, because the leaves did not look healthy. An area of our grass that always has continual sun, is also looking much better and will improve with each application. Mark and Andy pruned my large Cottonwood tree yesterday. There were more dead and broken limbs in there than I knew, but when they were done...it looks amazing! I have a love/hate relationship with this tree, and don't want to lose it for the summer shade and fall color it provides. Their work was impeccable, as was their cleanup. Last night, all our immediate neighbors commented on how great the tree looked and wanted to know who did it...even my really picky neighbors! I highly recommend them! more

Mark has trimmed our trees every other year for several years. Each time I have been pleased with the trees' new open natural look. I also appreciate the way Mark has worked carefully around the flowerbeds and cleared away everything at the end of the job. more

Had some trees in decline. Mark came over and showed me how to care for them. He even showed me the correct way to trim excess branches. From there, he removed three large Aspen trees next to my house, making the removal something I wouldn't tackle. Mark's passion is trees. I am glad I ran across Mark and I would recommend him to my friends. more

Had my enormous cottonwood tree removed today due to a split trunk. Was impressed by the professional, friendly and very competent service provided. Had to use a crane to remove the tree. Procedure was thoroughly explained prior to the visit. Really enjoyed watching the whole process. All debris was discarded and area was well cleaned after the removal. Would highly recommend Mark and Andy and will hire them again. more

We were having some problems with our trees when we first called, Mark. They had totally over grown the area and were pushing up against the windows screens. I was very concerned about trimming the tree so that it was clear of the window screen, but I didn't want it to loose it's nice full look. After the service, the trees are beautiful. They still have that full look, but they are now completely clear of the windows. They're not lopsided at all. Shortly after that, we had a number of Aspens, between 20 and 30 feet tall, that have died and needed to be cut down. A few of these trees overhung an awning and I was concerned about damage. They brought down the trees with no problems, and helped give us some ideas as to what we can do with the now vacant location. They even helped answer a few other questions we had about trees on our property. We definately recommend Mortensen and will continue to use them for any future needs. Thanks guys. more

I chose Mark Mortensen when I was walking through my neighborhood and saw him and Andy working together on a neighbor's tree. I could tell by how they spoke to each other how knowledgable and professional they were. When Mark came to give us an estimate, we were impressed with his background and body of work. We hired him, and he and Andy came and did an outstanding job for us. They were fast, efficient, friendly and tidy. We can't say enough good things about them! We plan to hire them again this winter when we need more things done. more

We don't let anyone prune our trees except Mark. He knows what he's doing and has the health of the trees in mind. We have a huge investment in our trees and landscaping, and Mark shares our concern for protecting our trees and shrubs. Incorrect pruning can seriously jeopardize the life of the tree - so beware of the cheap tree-hackers that don't know what they're doing! more

Mark Mortensen is passionate about trees, which is probably why he gets such good results. He saved our maple tree when we thought it wouldn't survive very bad damage after a blizzard eleven years ago. Five years ago, after one of our heavy spring snows, I woke up to several downed tree limbs. My tree service Co. put me on a 2 week waiting list. I called Mortensen Tree Service and talked to Mark the owner. He came the next day, and made my trees look beautiful, and better than before. He explained how unique his Company was compared to other tree service providers. Not only is he an Arborist, but he deeply cares about the environment. He believes that pruning trees should look natural, like Mother Nature creates. He also developed an environmentally safe fertilizer for tress and lawns without harmful pesticides. A more balanced and pet safe approach to healthily tress and lawn. I fired my old tree company and started using Marks product on all my trees and lawn. It saved a tree that was suffering from a soil deficiency, and also saved my neighbors trees from Blight in just one season! more

We have known the Mortensens for years and always recommend them to any of our friends and family looking for a quality and trustworthy tree service company. They have trimmed and fertilized our huge blue spruce for years, and we have also hired them to trim/shape/remove various shrubs and bushes, and to completely remove an old cherry tree that was rotting from the inside.
