love waffles so much... 12/17/2008

Great Service. I love waffles so much and today made me love them more. Waffles. More than Waffles, Waffles. However, if there are 8 or more people, you guys should not make an issue of using more than 2 credit cards. Waffles. How about some pancakes? more

my favorite breakfast place 12/11/2008

This is our favorite breakfast place. We have a weekly tradition here (every Sunday). The whole family gathers for breakfast. We treat my 84 year old mother. The food is great! My only suggestion is that you might serve a really crusty sour dough bread. more

2 thumbs up. 12/8/2008

Food excellent, service fabulous, waffles the best. 2 thumbs up. Best breakfast I have had since I left home. more

southern warmth and hospitality 11/20/2008

I'm from the South, where warmth and hospitality overflow from every home and business place. It's rare find the same level of service, welcoming and graciousness outside of my home states, but every time I've visited More Than Waffles, I'm treated to a heapin' helpin' of that same southern warmth and hospitality. It's home away from home and the food's great, too! more

A delicious breakfast venue in West Valley 11/15/2008

Family friendly restaurant with a nice atmosphere in a strip mall. Very friendly wait staff. Wide variety of menu items, such as nutella waffles, farmer's market omelettes, and also has lunch menu as well. We went for the breakfast but there are also 'dessert' types of waffles, and even crepes. Yummy looking stuff. Coffee was o.k., nothing to write home about, but you go here for the waffles! They have pancakes, french toast etc. if you're not a waffle buff. Price is reasonable for what you get ($10.75 gets you a 3 egg omelette with spinach, basil, goat cheese and mushrooms, PLUS two waffles). It's not dirt cheap but it's good, and the service is good, too. Would go again for sure. Five stars because it's the valley and there's not many choices. Pros: Good ambience, outdoor seating, family friendly, opens earlier than the sign states... more

One of my favorite places 11/11/2008

I discovered this place about 5 years ago through a coworker and I have been a fan ever since. I've now hooked several friends, family, and coworkers. The service has always been great and I've never been disappointed with the food. more

Best service. De-li-cio-us waffles! 10/30/2008

The bacon was perfectly cooked. I thought the waffle was light and airy and loved the plum preserves that went with. The staff was attentive and it seems like they enjoyed working there as their was an feel of camaraderie amongst the staff. I look forward to going here again with friends in tow. more

Made me love waffles 8/26/2008

I had never ordered waffles anymore, but once I tried them here, I became addicted. They also make different sweet jams every month and they're delicious. Only they don't take reservations, so you always have to wait. :( more

Cozy Breakfast Place 6/24/2008

This is a very cozy, comfortable place to get your most important meal of the day. There are so many breakfast staples to choose from- the egg dishes and the oatmeal are exceptional for a Sunday morning wake-up dish. Its usually pretty crowded here on weekends but the food is well worth the wait. Pros: A Delicious Breakfast at a Cozy hideaway Cons: crowded during weekend mornings more

Best waffles in the valley 11/13/2007

i would have never known about this waffle house unless i actually walked around the plaza. this is a nice hidden country decorated waffle house that makes you feel like family. i bet it's less crowded on the weekdays, but luckily we got there before the brunch rush and were seated right away. i love breakfast food so this place was perfect for me. my boyfriend got the corned beef hash which comes w/ half a belgian and i ordered the avocado omelette breakfast burrito style w/ sausage which came with a belgian waffle. both of our orders were extremely delicious. my favorite part was the waffles, they were so light and airy. the batter was not thick like other waffles @ restaurants i've tried before. i am definitely going to go here again. if you google morethanwaffle you'll be able to find their website. hope you'll enjoy their food as much as i did. Pros: Waffles Cons: very busy on weekends more

Best Waffles Ever 9/24/2007

Nice menu selection if you don't want waffles, they have many other items to choose from. The waffles are the best, so light and tasty, and comes with almost every breakfast.\r \r There is a singer on the weekends and he will play requests.\r \r They do not take reservations, but while waiting they do have coffee and water. Worth the wait. Cons: Best Waffles anywhere more

Great weekday brunch spot 6/28/2007

My boyfriend and I go here quite often during weekday mornings....Weekends are too packed. Their waffles are very nice and light, just what a belgian waffle should be, and Ika's jams are always superb. A few recommendations by us: the corned beef hash and eggs are delicious --probably the best we've had in LA, the coffee (gourmet almond vanilla--but not sweetened; you do that yourself), homefries, the ukrain omelette as a breakfast burrito, and the grainy day pancakes (wholesome and flavorful! Eat them with the jam). We've tried all of the benedicts and have not been crazy about them, though the Tuscan benedict is actually quite nice (I hate feta normally, but it works in this case), and the vegi beni would be fine without the tomatoes (i like tomatoes immensely but they do not work in this case, either). We do not enjoy the spinach souffle, as it is bland (it are served with the eggs florentine, specifically). Pros: great hash and eggs, healthy entrees Cons: benedicts are not fantastic more

Great home-y place 3/19/2007

If you are looking for fine dining or elegant cuisine - this is NOT the place. But if you wanna go somewhere on a sunday morning with your guy, a paper, wearing sweats... THIS is the place. It's cute, there's music, you can sit in the patio and just relax. The staff is friendly enough considering how busy they are, and the food tastes like it would if you made it at home. If you can go without expecting too much - you will like the food and leave feeling satisfied. Pros: Music, Patio, relaxed atmosphere Cons: Not ""elegant"" or ""fine dining"" more

Godawful Bad 9/2/2006

Okay, so, I just moved to Encino with my girlfriend, decided to go out for breakfast yesterday, looked on Citysearch and saw this place had favorable reviews. We get there, HUGE wait, the place is packed, we figure, gee, this place must be amazing. However, when our name was called, a waitress went to seat us, and then as we were sitting down, another waitress comes up and informs us that it was indeed NOT our turn for a table and we'd have to get up and wait longer. We order coffee and orange juice which was never brought to us. Ordered Eggs Benedict which was more akin to a reheated egg mcmuffin. My lady got waffles which were like, 9 bucks for something that was 90% air. Waitstaff was either rude or ignored us all together. I want my $20 back. For all that is good in the world, never go to this place. Oh, also, and this is coming from a man who makes his living in the music business, the keyboard player out front was annoying beyond words. Pros: The food was technically edible Cons: Makes Denny's sound pretty good in comparison. more

Not for couples on the weekends 6/25/2006

My husband and I went on Sunday at 9:45 am, and had a good breakfast. The food was great. The only problem was that we didn't have any time to enjoy the great coffee. A lot of people there had small children, and I felt that the efficient waitstaff was eager to bring us our food and give us the bill. If you're looking for someplace to read the paper and relax, this isn't it. more

great sunday morning breakfast 11/7/2005

the decor of this place makes it look like a country cottage. the omelletes are good and the waffle that comes with it even better. the homemade plum jam they make is amazing, but it's only around for 3 months, then it changes to some other kind of jam. pumkin waffles are also really great. weekends become REALLY crowded, so be prepared for a wait. Pros: cheap food, good breakfasts, homemade jam Cons: slow service, crowded on weekends more
