Worst

I guess I will start off by saying that, from reading the reviews, I should have given Moody's a try for breakfast or brunch first. I went for dinner, on my birthday no less, and ...

Just okay.... 6/22/2010

The food here is probably the best aspect of the entire place which is a large percentage of what most people want from an eating establishment. I had lunch with three friends today and we all enjoyed our food...the salad could have had something other than iceberg lettuce in it though...ugh. Who still serves just iceberg anyway?? Pros: Good food, very clean, okay prices Cons: Service, food takes a long time, strangely decorated more

Very good food; clean interior 10/2/2009

We went there for dinner tonight 10/2/09 (my husband and I and my parents). At first look we weren't too sure ... it looked a little run down - it's a mobile home with a patio on the front. But, we have found some of the best food at places like this. And, Moody's was no exception. The inside was very clean and bright. My dad got the hamburger and fries; my mom had eggs & sausage with biscuits & gravy; my husband chili and Philly steak sandwhich; I had the potato soup and a wedge salad. The only 'complaint' was that my husband had hoped the chili was homemade, but he thinks it was actually Hormel. Not bad, just he was hoping for something else. My soup was awesome and the wedge salad perfect - haven't had one better. My folks enjoyed their choices as well. We live on the east side of Round Rock so don't usually go to Leander for dinner. But, we will be back and we look forward to trying other things on their menu. If you haven't tried Moody's - you need to. Bon appetit. Pros: Good food; friendly waiter Cons: Don't have any more

Wonderful Breakfast, Great Music, Lot's of Fun! 11/15/2008

Sherri has been raving about Moody's Cafe, so I decided to join her and a friend for breakfast this morning. Wow! What a treat! Such a beautiful, cozy restaurant (perfect on this windy, blustery day.) Pros: Ambience, Friendly owners, great place to relax! more

Best steak we've had...anywhere 11/15/2008

The other day I had the most tender tenderloin (a special not on the regular menu) I've ever eaten. My husband had the best New York Strip he's tried. My father-in-law loved the spicy Creole sauce on his crab cakes. And my mother-in-law was in heaven with the delicious desserts. Pros: Food Quality, Value, Service, Kid-Friendly Atmosphere Cons: Small (But Delectable) Dessert Menu more

I've just found this restaurant, visiting it several times the last two weeks and can't wait to take my friends and family. 11/14/2008

Here is a restaurant that is reasonably priced with excellent food. The various dishes on the menu include pleasant surprises to the normal steak dinner and is a big draw for me!!!! Of course the food was prepared to perfection......the tenderloin with crabmeat sauce just melted in my mouth. I wanted to eat slowly so that I could enjoy it as long as possible. Meeting the owner and their chef was fun and entertaining as well. Getting a little history on the Steve Ray Catfish from the chef was great. I haven't tried their breakfasts yet but I think this is a place where I could spend a lot of time !!!! more

Slow and sub par... 9/25/2008

I guess I will start off by saying that, from reading the reviews, I should have given Moody's a try for breakfast or brunch first. I went for dinner, on my birthday no less, and was really not impressed at all. Pros: Nice outside deck. Cons: Really slow service. Sub par food. more

Delicious, contemporary fare in the heart of Leander 8/29/2008

My husband and I recently had dinner here on a Saturday evening. The steak was flavorful and juicy, cooked just as ordered. We agreed it rivaled any of the big name steak joints in town. We both loved the horseradish mashed potatoes as well. Our food came out quickly, and our drinks were consistently refilled. I also noticed they had great sounding dinner salads, which I will try next time. It's nice to find somewhere to eat in this area with healthier options. more

SLOW food 8/17/2008

Went with high expectations.( reviews) Sunday Brunch about 12:45. Six tables was all they had occupied and it took 1 hour to get our food (3 people) One hour for eggs! Seriously? I have been a professsional cook for 20+ years and I can only dream about owning a place like this, but the owner implied that they were busy which is why it took so long. 6 tables is busy? I try to support local business, but do everyone a favor, if you have no experience running a restaurant, don't open one without hiring those who have. It is a difficult thing to do, know your limitations. Cons: poorly executed food, no sense of urgency more

atmosphere for days!! 7/22/2008

As an artist I really enjoyed playing at Moody's, not to mention eating there, man that food is good. As a band we can't wait to get back! more

YOU HAVE TO TRY IT! We're hooked on Moody's!!!! 6/22/2008

Several weeks ago we were looking for a dinner spot, saw Moody's for the first time and thought we'd give it a try. It was steak night. To our surprise, it was UNBELIEVABLE!! The steak was so flavorful that I almost picked my plate up and licked it clean!! Everything about the meal was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. We just celebrated our anniversary and thought we'd try someplace ""special"" in Austin for our celebration dinner. We picked Ruth's Chris in downtown Austin -- supposed to be a well-renowned steak restaurant, right??! So Wrong! It was terrible - the most bland meal we've every had. We both sat at the table and said, ""why didn't we just go to Moody's""!!!! You want a great tasting meal, nice presentation, excellent service....YOU MUST GO TO MOODY'S!!!!! Pros: The most fabulous tasting steak ever! Cons: Nothing really - 'cept by the time everyone finds out the place will be too small to hold everyone! more

Family owned by the nicest most caring family 6/18/2008

This family-owned business makes eating here a warm, enjoyable experience. Wayne, Kay, Curtis, and all the personnel pay meticulous attention to details and deliver the highest quality food and entertainment in a relaxing setting. Moody's is the place to escape from stress. I feel at home with my family here and know that I am getting great quality. The food is chef-prepared and the presentation is unparallelled. Come on in and meet the family. You'll find a home away from home. Pros: Great people and great food. more

Great food, great folks, great atmosphere! 6/15/2008

I eat at Moody's just about everyday! Breakfast, lunch or dinner. A quiet setting, you can always get a seat accompanied by a meal that satisfies the pallet and folks that warm your heart! more

The real deal for coffee and superb food in a homelike atmosphere. 6/3/2008

The low key exterior of Moody's opens to a completely renovated diningroom with an interesting combination of animal print seat covers and bamboo wall covering; lots of originality in use of materials to catch the eye. Pros: Amibience is low key, great food, friendly service more

Great Food 5/31/2008

Went for the Valentine's dinner and meal was fantastic. Have been back many times since and have enjoyed each meal. Pros: Steaks were great, Shrimp Bisque was great more

Best Quiche around! Comfortable atompospere & friendly staff , best value around! 5/28/2008

Best Quiche around! Comfortable atompospere, friendly staff and the food is all homemade and awesome! The service is fast and prices are VERY REASONABLE. Moody's is a CLASS ACT and is locally owned and operated! Pros: Deck is cool with lots of plants. more

Great food, music, porch, friendly owners and service. 5/20/2008

We went to Moody's for the first time last Friday night to see my wife's band perform and had a blast! The food was awesome - I had the skewered shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes - and am looking forward to trying a steak next time. The bass player had the steak salad and was raving about it as well. more
