Best

I have been to Montgomery Inn hundreds if not Thousands of times. I love to go for the ribs, but other great choices are the Duck, steaks and chicken. I have tried everything on...

Worst

When I moved to Cincinnati, all I heard about was Montgomery Inn. I found it to be over-rated. The food I found to be just above average, although the barbecue sauce I must admit,...

romantic? Not so much. 2/10/2004

I can't believe the Boathouse was ranked the most romantic...I love the place - love the food, love the people, but romantic? The only thing this place has going for it is the view of the river - Heck, Hooters has the same view, but I wouldn't want my husband taking me there for V-day either! Go to the boathouse for the ribs, not the romance. more

Time of My Life 4/5/2003

While I was employed with U.S. Shoe Corp., I spent many long hours in Cincinnati. The most rewarding part of each trip was a night out at the Montgomery Inn with my friends and co-workers. I loved bringing some of my rookie managers with me - just to ""show off"" a little. It was always a place to see a ""somebody"" whether they were associated with the Reds, Bengals or just an ordanary celeb. I actually saw Ted Danson there one night about 12 years ago. I knew this place would put Cincinnati on the map. I really miss my old job but still come back every now and then just for old times sake. Did I mention the ribs are to die for? I went off every diet when I was there and it is worth every calorie - I'd fast for days and enjoy every minute. Pros: exciting, friendly Cons: noisy more

Good attempt at bbq 3/12/2003

It's nothing compared to the bbq in the south, but it's a good stab at it. I don't think the food is worth the price. Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: overpriced more

Great but Not Romantic 1/31/2003

Great Restaurant, Great Food even great location. But not an ounce of romance, Decor it sports, and main food is ribs.... more

Ribs Galore 1/17/2003

The food and the service are very good but I would not consider this a romantic restaurant. Pros: Drinks are good, prices are good, service the same Cons: sports are not romant, no reservations more

MMMMMMMMM GOOOOOD 1/13/2003

The steak is excellent, but the ribs are heaven. It it on the Ohio River so you also get a good view. Get there early, on weekends the Montgomery in is standing room only, but it is worth it. The ribs will melt in your mouth. Pros: Good Service, Great Food Cons: Crowded, Difficult Parking more

Over-rated 12/29/2002

You've missed it if you haven't been 12/19/2002

This is an EXCELLENT restaraunt right on the Cincinatti River that serves up excellent steak and RIBS, among other things. This is one great atmosphere and you might order the ribs just so the cute waittresses can tie the bib on you! Be sure to expect great food and remember this one for awhile. And it is true what they say .. your toothless grandma could eat these ribs .. they really DO fall off the bone. Move over Tony Roma's. more

nice 11/29/2002

awesome ribs and you gotta get their salad with ranch dressing. Pros: ribs, salads Cons: noisy more

can't be romantic 11/25/2002

how can a restaurant be romantic with sports memorabilia. A woman is not going to want to go there to be woo'd this is not a girlie place, but it is a great place to dine with family and friends more

hustle and bustle 11/21/2002

I really enjoy the Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse, but not for a romantic evening with my husband. There is by far too much going on, not to mention the atmosphere. When I go out for romance, I don't want eighteen thousand people around and I don't want to be looking at some guy in a t-shirt and jeans. I feel as though the resturaunt does what it can, but it's just too popular for romance....especially when their's a bachelor party at the next table. Pros: great food more

gbongirl 11/1/2002

Every visitor to Cincinnati shoukd visit Montgomery's, it definitely is not a romantic restaurant! more

Riverview Excellence 10/25/2002

Great location, excellent view, wonderful ribs. Only complaint is it's pretty noisy, but it's worth it! more

Still an excellent experience. Difficult to get seated on time even though I had a reservation. Parking was nicely handled. Service very friendly. Side dishes were excellent. Could allow a little more breathing room between tables. more

To die for.... 10/3/2002

They are known for their ribs, but don't underestimate their expertise in pork chops. In fact their whole menu is a specialty. Take all your out of town guests. Pros: Beautiful view more

Best Restaurant Ever 10/3/2002

Montgomery Inn is worth the wait. I've been going to this restaurant for 20+ years and it will always be my favorite place to celebrate the special events in my life. Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Waiting, Waiting, Waiting more

Great river view 10/3/2002

Wonderful ambience, beautiful view, attentive service, great food. What more could you ask for on a romantic date? Even the wait for a table in the bar detracted nothing. Pros: the view, the food, the atmosphere Cons: a bit of a wait more

The One & Only Rib King 9/29/2002

While the ribs are excellent don't pass up the shrimp appetizers or the Greek salad. A view to die for and a most gracious host make it a visit worth repeating. Pros: Food, View, Service Cons: none, none, none more

Excellent 9/18/2002

I've never had a bad experience with this fine Restaurant. Mostly a younger (many high-school daters) crowd on weekends, but that can be avoided at the bar on the upper level. Service is always prompt and sincere. Very comfortable atmosphere and great food. The only distraction were the teenaged valet-boys who are not nearly old enough for their positions. Watch out for the arrogant valet-boy attitude one might receive on occasion. Pros: Fair fare, Great view, Great Atmosphere Cons: Valet Boys, Teenaged Daters, Always Crowded more
