One of the most under rated restaurants in Denver!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10/28/2007

This place is very under rated. We are foodies, we frequent Mizuna, Fruition, Frasca, etc, and I will confidently say that if you order the right selections at Montecito this restaurant is as good, if not better than the aforementioned. The decor is kitschy, but inviting and comfortable. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The italian sausage stuffed grilled calamari, tuna tartare, duck crepes, and tuna with truffled mashed potatoes are must haves. I would not waste my time with the salads or pastas as they are below average. This is one of Denver's best! more

Love it! 8/28/2007

I've been to Montecito in th Tech Center (Holly & Orchard) twice now with business and LOVE it! The staff is very friendly. Service was a little bit slow, but we have always been somewhat large parties. They have a grilled cheese and peach sandwich that I just can't get enough of! Extensive wine list, great appetizers and desserts. The tech center location has plenty of parking and is easy to get to. We even held a group dinner and reserved their back room which was lovely. Great for groups - private and even an appearance by Mel himself! Would defintely go back! :-) Pros: Great Apps and Desserts, Great Service! more

Great atmosphere 7/23/2007

I came here on a Tuesday evening with a group of six people. We made reservations, but the restaurant was pretty empty on a Tuesday so reservations wouldn't be necessary. Service was good. The wine selection looked good. I ordered the spicy spaghetti with grilled shrimp, which was absolutely fantastic. I would definitely come here again. Pros: Great atmosphere, even better food Cons: street parking more

Loved It! 4/28/2007

Just visited Montecito on a Friday night with a party of 6. Recommend making a reservation, which we did. Atmosphere is hip yet cozy. Excellent service both at the bar and throughout dinner. Food was wonderful, each dish had delicious flavor and nice presentation. Portion sizes were good; not large, but the perfect amount to be able to finish your entree without feeling too full. Highly recommend you give this restaurant a try! more

Fabulous new restaurant - Highly recomended 2/2/2007

We have been to Montecito 3 times and absolutely love it. The service is fabulous and the food is equal or better than the best known restaurants in town. I read the previous review and really cant understand it as we have been so pleased with this new restaurant. The Twice Boiled Minestrone and the Mac & Cheese apetizer are unique and delicious. The main courses we have tried incuding the Salmon, Chicken and Steak have fantastic flavor and the portions are moderate in size. The decor and ambiance is very nice and we find the seating quite comfortable and intimate. We have always enjoyed chatting with either Mel & Jane Master, the owners, their son Charles, or the chef Adam Mali when we have dined there - they are all so friendly and just good down to earth people. The staff they have hired are very well trained and pleasant as well. Most have quite a lot of experience being many years at other find restaurants in the Cheery Creek area. We look forward to enjoying this restaurant on a regular basis and higly recomend it to everyone. Pros: fabulous food & service more

poor service, poor portion size, poor execution of food dishes 1/23/2007

I work in the restaurant industry and I can honastly say that I will not go back to the restaurant. The service my family and I recieved was very slow and inconsistant. After we had gotten our appitizers it was about 30 minutes before a server even came and got our order for entrees. When the entrees arived they were very undersized and under seasoned. After finishing and waiting for desert menues we got coffee, which was good. Upon recieving deserts two of the three were ok and the third an apple cider donut with apple creme frache was so salty that it had to be sent back because we could not eat it. The atmosphere of the restaurant is good except for the seating. The seats are a horible laminated wicker that you keep sliding out of. I would not recomend this restaurant. Pros: good wines, good atmosphere Cons: no parking, bad chairs, slow serivce more
