Monro Muffler Brake & Service

These guys are your stereotypical scammer mechanics. I took my vehicles here for oil changes in the past. I live in an apartment complex, otherwise I'd change my own oil. I guess they assume that since I use a mechanic, I don't know anything about cars. Every time I take a car for an oil change they offer a free tire rotation (how generous). This gives them an excuse to "examine" your brakes. They will come back and tell you that your brakes are in a dangerous condition and should be replaced, as well as have your rotors changed. They will quote you double what anyone else would charge, added to the fact that the brakes are fine. Three times they have tried to get me to replace my brakes on three different vehicle. Three times, I have gone to a family member's house, removed my wheels and examined the brakes myself. Three times the brakes have been in working order with many, many miles of use left. Bottom line, if you go to Monro for an oil change do not let them sell you on unnecessary work. Find a mechanic you can trust, because it's not these guys. I had a horrible experience with Monro . I took my car in because my heat was not working. I after 5-6 days of back and forth with the mechanics they couldn't fix the problem and REFUSED to help me. I bring my car to my fathers friend who is a mechanic and he takes apart the console and shows me that the Monro mechanics had broken some parts and tried to hide them under the console!!!! So I guess this is why they refused to help me. I cannot believe that someone can be this unprofessional and have the audacity to hide their mistakes. Never again will I, my family, friends or anyone else I can tell take a vehicle to a Monro! Pros: null Cons: null more
