Monarch Dental & Orthodontics - Burleson

From start to finish this was by far the best experience I've had at a dentist office. I was having tooth pain and called to see when I could get in. They told me to come on in. When I got there I was greeted by Mallory and she was fantastic. A great personality and sense of humor but not at the expense of efficiency. After the needed form were signed I had a seat but only for about 2 minutes before they called me back. They took X-rays and brought me back to a room. Dr. Marshall came in and reviewed my X-rays in detail and told me her recommendation for treatment. I was going to have to come back so I had time to get the infection and pain under control but I opted to do a cleaning done while I was there. Mary came in to do the cleaning and she also was very professional, competent and a pleasure to work with. Melissa came back and went over my insurance coverage and payment plans, etc. She was again, very professional competent and great to work with! I'm not sure if the letter ""M"" had anything to do with how awesome this place was but it's interesting to me their names all started with M. I came back in 2 days to get a root canal done and the previous experience just continued. Upon arrival Melissa told me she had good news for me. On her own she checked the pricing I was quoted and realized my portion was much less than expected. I brought noise canceling headphones for the procedure, worked out some communication needs then listened to some good music while Dr. Marshall did her magic. Dr. Mikitka and his staff made ALL my major dental work MUCH easier than ever expected. Dr. Mikitka's knowledge and skill allowed me to place a great deal of trust in him during some very major dental procedures. He and his assistance were very caring and never left me in the dark about what was going on. My smile and oral health hasn't been this good in a long time. Great job ya'll! Thanks so much. more

$3000 will pay for incompetence (assistants, lab work, and dentist), arrogance (dentist), and a treatment plan somewhere else to "fix it". They also tried to tack on $500 extra. Luckily, I DO know how to add. more

Went there with severe toothache. They were very good at fitting me in. But thats where the positivity ends. Told I needed 2 root canals, which I somewhat expected. Problem comes in pricing. I was told I would need to pay $1700 up front to start procedures. Well I do not have that laying around so asked to set up payment plan. Nope, must open a credit line with a bank. Turns out, they do not bill your secondary insurance if you have one. \r \r Doctor Makitka was not very personable either. Was telling me he would not have time and just too busy to do it any way. Asked for pain management and he said if i wasnt going to take treatment he would not help.\r \r Thankfully, Office Manager was able to talk to him in private and get me a prescription.\r \r Next day called around and found another dentist. Got the exact same procedures done for under $100 out of pocket. \r \r Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion and estimate elsewhere. I guess they believe the Monarch brand is all more

I went there to have a tooth repaired (front left). Instead of repairing it with a partial, the dentist told me I needed a crown. But not just one; four! He said it would be difficult to match just one, so we needed to do the front two teeth. Then, he said we needed to do the two laterals b/c it would result in a bucktoothed effect if we left them alone. This was going to cost me $4,000! Of course, I sought out a second opinion. The new dentist (Dr. Tommie Glenn in Arlington) said that crowns were unnecessary and a partial would work fine. Total cost: $56. She stated you should never have to cut into 'virgin' teeth. How many other people have been pushed into completely unnecessary surgeries they do not need?!?!? Stay away from Monarch dental as they are pushed to provide services you don't need!!! Pros: Friendly receptionists. Cons: Push services on you that you do not require. more

Over charged by TWO-AND-A-HALF times the amount that was mutually agreed upon by contract with my insurance carrier, Blue Cross Blue Sheild. They admitt to over charging me, ALMOST THREE MONTHS AGO, but refuse to reimburse me. I have now had to resort to legal representation. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!! Learn from my mistake! Very rude front desk people as well as billing people. Forget about getting anyone at corporate office to speak to you. Also this is a chain buisness. Check for reviews on monarch dental in Dallas, Plano, Richardson, etc. They all mirror my review. What an eye opener. Wish I knew about this web site BEFORE I went to Monarch! more
