Mokler Properties

I have lived here for 2.5 years and have seen some unbelievable things. I fell in the parking lot in January and the owners have absolutely refused to even give me the name or number of the insurance carrier so I can file a claim. I called to talk to the housing inspector about the lack of anything being done since the fire last May (outside elements and animals have access to two rental units), and the housing inspector called Mokler and now Mokler is retaliating and not renewing my lease. This is illegal and I will be moving forward against them. In addition, the form they sent me was not properly filled out (state law requires a minimum of 28 days written notice, they gave me barely 25).\r \r They have not had their pool approved by the health department for the last 2 summers yet they continue to promote it as a benefit to the residents. I would advise anyone and everyone contemplating renting ANY Mokler property to look elsewhere.\r \r They know that I am getting married in July, but are trying to force me out beforehand and they attacked my character when I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they have flat out refused to do any sort of mediation. more

I have rented from Mokler's and would strongly recommend researching this company before renting from here. There are plenty of reviews online to give you an idea of what many renters go through with this landlord. The main problems I experienced were poorly maintained properties, rude and dishonest communication, and failure to properly fix problems including plumbing and a leaking ceiling. In addition to my own horror stories, various neighbors shared stories of similar problems. They have outright lied to me on more than one occasion and had entered my property without notice numerous times. All that being said, I don't think I'm able to adequately communicate how bad these guys are... there aren't words. This was by far the worst rental experience of my life. more

STAY AWAY from Mokler Properties. They are bad people, plain and simple. They lie, the maintenance people lie, and they're all nasty about it. First of all, the last thing you want in a rental property is plumbing and electrical issues. I have both. When I came to the apartment to see it, I was promised that the problems I noticed at the time would be fixed. Not only were they left unfixed, there were far more problems than I originally noticed. I photographed and noted the problems, sent a letter, and was given the run around with maintenance (who don't fix a thing). This has been going on for weeks now, and nothing is fixed. To make matters worse they are quite nasty with me about it. For what its worth, they're in bankruptcy court (its not hard to find the legal papers online, these things are always made available). The list of debtors includes former tenants, so I'm not expecting my security deposit back. I could go on and on regarding specific problems, but hopefully this gets the point across. I've rented in several different places over the past 10 years, some of which were more than a little slummy. I've NEVER had trouble with landlords like this--not even close. I just got security deposit back from the Mokler's, all of it. I got to say ""Thank you!"". Yor office staff was really nice and I appreciate that you worked with me when my checks were stolen and I had to wait a day to pay rent. Never had anything really go wrong in the apartment, but the one time I did, they fixed it. Thank you for the year I lived with you and here is a good review for you guys! I refer people to you! more

SCAMMERS... they are just out to collect any penny they can get. half way through our lease they charged us over $200 for ""outside clean up"". There was nothing out there. Do not even bother to clean the place when you are done, because they will charge you for cleaning anyways. NEVER AGAIN more
