Mojito Restaurant

I use to be a regular at this place for years. Now I would not go back even if I was paid to. Recently they changed their waitress staff (they only have a few). The new staff is horrible. They are slow and they talk among themselves instead of serving you. For example, the last time I was there for my anniversary, my boyfriend and I ordered a bottle of wine. The waitress took our food and wine order and then chatted with her friends for a long time. She never brought us our bottle of wine! Another waitress brought out our food and they messed up the order! So we had the wrong food and our bottle of wine was not brought out until we were halfway done with our meal! It was unbelievable. The manager did not think it was a big deal. He ended up giving us free dessert (even though we didn't even want dessert). If you insist on going, avoid the blond waitress. We read all the fine reviews posted here, so we were really anxious to go. However it seems like the employees are writing the reviews for this crapy place. The name of this restaurant is a disgrace to the classical refreshing Mojito. Teh food was lame and no quantity at all for the price. The ropa vieja was stiff and I almost choked on it, seem more like sloppy Joe from a can. The Mojitos has no Seltzer water; which as a bartender I would know is one the most important ingredients, and plus they added Mint essence to make it seem better. I GREW UP IN A CUBAN HOUSEHOLD AND THE FOOD AT MOJITO'S BROUGHT ME BACK TO MY YOUNGER DAYS WHEN MY DAD WOULD COOK FOR MY BROTHER, SISTER, AND I, MEALS WHEN WE WERE GROWING UP. MY GIRLFRIEND AND I STARTED WITH THE STEAK QUESADILLA WHICH WAS SO GOOD WE ORDERED SOME TO GO. WE BOTH HAD THE GRILLED CHICKEN WITH THE CHIMICHURRI SAUCE ALONG WITH YELLOW RICE AND RED BEANS AND EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT. WE DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO TRY THE MOJITO'S BUT WE'LL BE BACK WITH FRIENDS TO ENJOY THAT. This restaurant is a perfect summertime treat. I have passed the place a couple times and decided to stop in Saturday night. I was pleasantly surprised. Small place dimly lit. Light but decent menu. Stiff drinks minus the heavy prix tag. Cool spot with out really trying to be cool. The Steak and Onions with rice and beans was damn good!! Mojitos will definitely become one of my regular Ft Green Spots. more
