Model Shoe Rebuilders

Earlier today I called Model Shoe Rebuilders to ask what time they closed. I was told 4:00pm. When I arrived at 3:40pm, they were already closed. The sign in the window said that they were open until 4. Instead I drove all the way across town for absolutely nothing. I took a pair of shoes in to be polished and was told to come back in several days. When I went to pick them up several days later, they hadn't even been touched. Instead of telling me that they did not get to work on my shoes, they my shoes in a bag and gave them back to me exactly the way they were when i dropped them off. They did nothing to address the fact that not only did they not do the service i paid for, but they tried to pretend like they had worked on my shoes when they hadn't. I strongly recommend that you find somewhere else to get your shoes fixed. Cons: bad service more

I advise against using model shoe rebuilders. They ruined two pairs of shoes that I brought in for simple polishing. On one pair they destroyed the patent leather, and on the other shoe they used black polish on a pair of shoes that had white threading bordering the shoe, which turned the white threading black. Not only did they ruin two pairs of my shoes but they proceeded not to acknowledge their mistake and the lady who does not speak english well told me that I ""shouldn't complain"". If a mistake is made I expect them to apologize and try to fix it rather than tell me that the shoes were brought in like that. I know exactly what my shoes looked like before bringing them in, and they did not come back that way. \r I STRONGLY ADVISE NEVER TO USE MODEL SHOE REBUILDERS FOR EVEN POLISHING ON NICE SHOES! I went to pick up 2 of my leather designer handbags today and found out that they used colored shoepolish on the leather. The colors were different and on top of that, the leather was ruined and no longer soft to the touch. When I addressed the problem with the man in the store, he claimed that they didn't have insurance and that he didn't speak English. I am going to take this up with the better business bureau but not sure what they're going to be able to do since the store worker took my receipt/tag when I came to pick up my bags. A few weeks ago I was standing in a restaurant and the heel popped off of one of my very expensive boots. I was nervous about taking it in to get repaired, but Model Shoe Rebuilders did an excellent job. My boot looks like new again. I also took another 4 pairs in for new taps and they look great also. It has been about a month and everything is still in good shape. I will definitely return here the next time I have a shoe emergency! Pros: Good quality work Cons: Language barrier with the owner. He apparently understood me though. more

I took in a pair of slingback heels that I feared were beyond repair - the heels, toes, soles and leather were completely trashed. The friendly lady at the counter went through the problems with me and gave me a price, which was reasonable, considering the extent of the repairs needed. The shoes were ready just a few days later, and I was thrilled to get them back in excellent, like-new condition. They really worked a miracle on these. I highly recommend them! more

I took 6 pairs of shoes and boots into Model Shoe on a Monday and they were completed by Wednesday. The owner was very courteous and even took the price of one of the shines out of my total because he had not been able to make them look like new since they were a light color leather. I will use them again, however, I wish they were open on Saturdays. more
