Excellent care 12/13/2010

I have been taking my pets to Mission Village for years. The staff has always been nothing but friendly, and the doctors nothing but professional. I have never had a wait of more than a few minutes, and in my opinion the prices are very reasonable. I have been through a few pet illnesses over the years and the care has always been very good. more

Terrible Vet- 2+ BAD experiences 10/30/2010

Let me share my two personal experiences with you. First, I took my new puppy there. The vet had no idea what she was doing. We tried a 2nd time because my mom had liked her for her dog. Among many things, The vet had kept no records on our puppy from the 1st visit so there was no way to chart weight gain, growth, etc- That was our last visit. Second, and even more alarming, involved my mom's beloved dog that was seen weekly as it was an older dog with health issues. Needless to say, my mom paid a fortune to her and was a very nice client. While watching the dog for my out of town parents, the dog became lethargic and began losing control of bowels. I called the vet and she gave me an appt later in the day, not asap as one might expect for an emergency occuring during regular business hours. I came for the appt and she was 45 minutes late- thinking she had some excuse for this while I sat with our (what we both thought) dying dog, she told me she lost track of time while putting away decorations?! She told me the dog was in liver failure, dying, that it wouldnt survive the weekend, to take it home- I asked if maybe it was just missing my mom- she replied no and that she would call later- which she never did. She didnt call my mom later in the week either despite all of the loyalty my mom had given her (remember she thinks the dog is dying and no follow-up calll?). When my parents returned home, the dog perked up again and lived another year. Not only did that woman have no vet skills, she lacked professionalism and compassion as well. Neither of us take our dogs there. When retelling this story, we have heard many similar stories of her incompetence including friends' puppies that have died under anestesia for neutering-. Please dont risk your pets health, waste your time and money or deal with her lack of compassion. more

I have two dogs, one I got from the NE Humane Society. The vets, staff and prices are perfect. I read the reviews above and feel for the owners however some illnesses are not easy to identify and treat more

For Bruiser 4/14/2010

Horrible Vet!We took our schnauzers to Mission Village after adopting fr/the NE Humane Soc in Dec 05. Our lil Bruiser started having accidents(he was house broken),hot spots/itchy spots, increased water consumption, lethargic, seizures, eratic appetite, panting&signs of discomfort.I asked many X's if he had Cushings or Diabetes. Was told no each x. After months of testing&explaining his symptoms between getting juggled between the 2vets,Soulliere sd Bruiser had an impacted anal gland that would have to be operated on&taken out. She told us she needed another Vet to help her.1st Red Flag! Bruiser had no bad smell coming fr/his tush area. After surgery, she would not let me take him home.2nd Red flag! She was adament I leave him there overnite,to the point she was rude&made me mad. Reluctantly we left our lil guy there who stayed all by himself w/no one to attend to him. My instincts told me something was wrong. We went to pick him up the next morning (it was a sat/06/22/08)&they had him in a crate which he had peed in.(no one took him to go potty?)Including the surgical area,he was covered in urine & he smelled awful. We were told not to bathe him until the stitches healed. The following Sat morning at 2am we rushed to the Emergency Vet clinic as Bruiser was panting, trying to find a place to go hide&showing terrible signs of discomfort. The Dr/Vet at Emergency Vet clinic sd there was no reason for Bruisers anal gland to have benn taken out.And couldnt believe Bruiser hadn't been clearly diagnosed. At this time he was suffering fr/acute pancreatitus. We were told whoever reviewed his blood work just days earlier wouldve known how to treat him b/c his numbers were so out of range&couldnt change w/in this time. We lost Bruiser that nite b/c of Suulliere's incompetance. We were urged by the ER Dr.to change vets immediately. That morning we went to Mission Village to get med recds&no condolences offered, wouldnt even look at us.Never even a call.Whats that tell you? Medical records/blood tests dont lie--incompatent vets do. more

Bad Experience 9/25/2005

First, it is fair to say the staff are very friendly here. The receptionists are always smile and are very kind to the animals. We took our cats in for their annual checkup and told the vet that one of our cats scratched his ears often and there was a watery discharge. Since we had gotten them from a catery, we were concerned about ear mites. They took a sample and reported there was no problem -- the cat simply had dirty ears. We were OK with that and the vet cleaned his ears. But over the next year the scratching got even worse. Once again at his annual checkup we told the vet about the cat's ear troubles. Once again, they took a sample and told us the cat simply had dirty ears. We kept telling the vet this poor cat was miserable and it seemed like something was wrong. But they kept telling us there was nothing. As it turned out, we had the cat's teeth cleaned. For the procedure, they needed to knock him out. Since they were putting the cat under, we asked if they could give his ears a thorough cleaning. They happily obliged but when the results came back it was determined the cat had ear mites!!! Unfortunately, we won't be taking our cats here anymore. more
