terrible food, not worth the price 8/1/2007

This place has a nice atmosphere and pretty good service. However, I personally go to restaurant for the food. This food was really heavy and just not very good. The calamari was simply uneatable and we sent it back. I have never sent food back before. I will not go back. Pros: good service Cons: bad food more

Inconsistent 3/19/2006

I have been to Mirasol a couple of times, and I found my experiences to be vastly different. The first time we went, we had great service. The food was good, although a bit overpriced, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The next time I visited, however, was a horroible experience. We were at the restaurant for almost 3 hours before all of our food was served, our waiter very rarely checked on us or filled drinks, and we left still feeling hungry. Even though my first time was great, this last experience will keep me from going back. Pros: Carne Asada, atmosphere Cons: inconsistent service, food was very late more

Hit or Miss - stick with the seafood 8/12/2005

Atmosphere, decor and crowd were very fun. The seafood (CEVICHE epecially) was excellent. However, the EMPANADAS DE CANGREJO were honestly about as good as hot pockets and the QUESO FUNDIDO was pretty bad as well. Pros: ambience, ceviche Cons: empanadas, service more

Okay 4/14/2005

I recently went to Mirasol with my boyfriend after hearing so many rave reviews about it. We really liked the atmosphere and had an extremely tentative and prompt waiter. The sangria was especially good! The only bad thing is that we order a Colombian dish that my boyfriend, who is Colombian, said was nothing like the dish he was used to eating in his native country. It was still really good though! The food was a little pricey, but about what I expected for a tappas restuarant. Pros: great food, good variety, great Sangria!!! Cons: poor location more

Skip the Jam and Grab some Tappas 7/11/2004

Skip the jam at the Pageant, and swing on by Mirasol. The food is as ecclectic as the people in the Loop. The fantastic waitresses who are as beautiful as they are knowledgable about the menu, offer up daily selections to please your palate. Bring a date or a group of people, this is one place you wanna skip that concert at the Pageant for and just stay for the desert! more
