As per my confirmed appointment time, I dropped off my car at 8:30 am for something that I thought should be a relatively easy problem to diagnose and fix. I called at 1 pm to get an update on when it might be done but was told that they hadn't been able to have someone look at it yet. At 5 pm when I still hadn't received an update, I called again and was told that they still hadn't looked at my car, but it would be one of the first ones to be worked on tomorrow morning! I think this is common courtesy, but If I have an appointment, I expect that my car be looked at that same day--maybe not fixed depending on how bad of a problem--but at least looked at! Just because I wasn't sitting at the shop waiting for my car all day, does not mean I am ok with leaving it for more than the day. I understand that they are busy, but they shouldn't confirm an appointment if they aren't able to follow through with it. They did not even bother to give me a call earlier in the day to let me know that they might not be able to get to my car. I went back at 5:30 because I decided I wanted to take my business elsewhere if they weren't going to look at it today, but when I showed up and said I wanted to take my car, they put someone on it right away and diagnosed the problem in 20 minutes! They ordered the part, a blower resistor, which they charged me almost $300 for. I could be wrong, but I also feel this was much more than what it should cost based on my own online search for the same part.
