On Aug. 2,014 my youngest son and his wife had their wedding ceremony. It was beautiful, and could have been better if the owners of the hall would have listened to the bride and groom and the mother of the bride. My son and his groomsmen and members of the brides family had to go and redo the tables. There were too many tables in the room. The room would have been overcrowded. The owners didn't want to move the tables because it's too much work to move them and put them back for another party next week. REALLY!!!! You should be concentrating on the current party and their needs not someone else a week away. Both sides of the family had elderly and terminally ill family members. My mother is one of the terminally ill. They wanted things done to make it nice for those that could not stay out that long due to either age or their illness. The owners of the hall just kept saying ""Thats not how we do it."" The people that are dropping all the money should be the ones that dictate how they want their ceremony/party. The ceremony was to start at 7pm they didn't like it that the guest started arriving at 6pm, They said the guest would be allowed in at 6:30pm, 30 mins to arrive and come in and be seated? PLEASE!! Not everyone likes to arrive at the last minute. They didn't have the air conditioner on. The bride and bridal party were trying get ready in the bridal suite. And it was so hot. It was to be open bar, but they wouldn't start serving the beer till 9pm and cut everyone off at 1:00. My son and DIL paid for the kegs of beer. This was a WEDDING not a quinceanera! The bride and groom asked for some oldies, country, and a little bit of other music. The Bride loves Elvis, he never played a full song by Elvis. The DJ did not play music per the bride and grooms request. Guest asked for certain romantic songs to be played and the DJ wouldn't play them. It's obvious that the music your playing is NOT what everyone wants when the dance floor is empty. The DJ acted if the room was full of teenagers. We asked for the music to be turned down a bit and he wouldn't comply. If you use The Mirage Ballroom, make sure you get everything in writing. They tell you one thing when your choosing their facility but don't deliver. IT'S CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! If your not going to take care of your customers then get out of the business. It is a beautiful facility. But service is lacking. ? at The Mirage Ballroom.
