Avoid all together, no shopping, food, entertaiment 2/6/2007

Back in the 80's the City Center was one of those GREAT places you wanted to go to for the day, hang out, shop, play video games, eat at the food court, numerous things, it was at it's peak then. Now it's all gone. more

It's Empty! 4/5/2006

What else can you say about City Center these days? The third floor food court, which used to be absolutely fantastic, has been torn apart and replaced with law offices. A majority of the storefronts that were formerly there have now been removed and retail space is at an absolute minimum now. It's also fair to say that City Center actually is a hangout for unruly teens, at least from the looks of it from the outside. The editor's review of City Center is out of date, back in the days of when the Dayton's name still hung on the entryway to the store. Cons: It's empty, empty, empty! more

Much Needed Remodel 7/30/2005

What a perfect location for a mall. Before I lived in Minneapolis I would stop at City Center for some quality shopping. Then all of a sudden the tenant list went from Express Mens and Lane Bryant and tons of other great national stores to a Payless Shoes and two bad service Starbucks and more empty storefronts than you would believe. The fact the the bus lines for the quickly deteriorating north Minneapolis put shady people around the mall entrances now don't help much. It is the best food court downtown though, and the new remodel looks to be quite the thing to bring it back to what it used to be and then some. Good Luck! Pros: Awesome Location, Great Food Court, Easy to Get to Cons: Lack of Tenants, Shady Crowds, "Scary" Bus Stop more
