As a dancer out here, I've been studying Pilates on and off for almost 10 years now. Lately after some injuries and with summer being around the corner, I've started being more adamant about getting into class. As far as studios in LA go, I think Mind 2 Body might be my favorite I''ve found.
The space is gorgeous. Its intimate so you're always in the teacher's sight line, And when the sun comes in through the large windows the environment is serene...regardless of what excersise you're busy sweating to. I've trained at a lot of places, so I noticed the machines are top notch as far as whats on the market right now. The teachers can even tell you WHY so and so is a type of leather or wood and what benefit it has on your body. Its been really clean every time I've come in. I just want to dance around and play in it all day. Such a nice place for a morning private in particular,
The teachers are awesome. I've taken class with a handful and they all seem to be very well versed and devoted to their students. If you're new to the place, before class they actually asses who is participating and work with them on what needs to be noted and cared for in class. My first day Lani was quick to ask if I had ever suffered pain in my left knee, based slowly the position my foot was standing it. I thought it was so subtle a kink that I was shocked anyone could tell just by looking. She then worked with me on modifying certain things during class to prevent any more injuries in dance. It seems to be working! The other girls are really great too. The young blonde instructor that sits at the desk usually is the absolute nicest person. Just the type you wanna be around after a hectic day.
The other thing I really REALLY like, is that I always get a good workout regardless of what class I take when I go. This has been my thing for a while now, so I'm quick to hop into an advanced class, but I was able to take my way less familiar friend to a beginner mat class and a tower class recently. Each instructor made sure I was getting the max out of my time, but were also able to guide her through it at the same time in a way she felt comfortable with. Love being able to walk out of class with a friend!
And when you're done and feel all stretched out and taller, you're literally across the street from Robeks and Humphreys, which have low carb and healthy food that doesn't make you feel like your hour was just in vain.
I think theyre supposed to be having a really good deal on classes right now for a few weeks, I really recommend getting in on some classes while you can. You'll be on cloud nine.
Pros: Nic equipment, awesome teachers, great location and RESULTS!
Cons: yet to find one
