As a back story to our current issues, we purchased a Honda Odyssey Touring Elite, from Miller Honda of Van Nuys in April. Because I am pregnant and very sick this pregnancy the dealership agreed to drop off the car at our house and have us sign the contract. Originally they were going to deliver the car in day light but couldn't make it until late and didn't deliver our car until late in the evening.
The sales associate let us know that the car they had on the lot had scratches and would need body work before we could buy it. We had addressed our concern that we would not accept a new vehicle that needed a scratch repaired without a discount in price. She indicated that instead of negotiating a reduced price, she would instead find us a vehicle that did not have a scratch or need any such repair.
A day later the associate had located another vehicle in the same color, and given that my husband was incredibly busy at work, she agreed to deliver the car to our home with another member of the sales team. The two brought the car to our home around 8 p.m. following which we signed the paperwork and took delivery of the car. While we did inspect the vehicle that night, given that it was late and very dark outside and difficult to ensure that there were no defects in the car's appearance. We trusted that given the fact that we would not buy a car with one scratch on it without a reduction in price, this car would be in ""new"" condition.
However, the next morning when the sun was out and we looked at the car, we were deeply frustrated to find that this car had multiple scratches in multiple locations (see the attached pictures). We immediately called the associate leaving her a message regarding my frustration and sent her the pictures attached to this email. I demanded that the issue be resolved, and I was contacted by one of her sales associates that told us to bring the car into the dealership and the scratches would be buffed out. On that advice, we brought the car into the dealership and the car was detailed (which had not been done prior to delivering it to us) and the scratches were supposedly ""buffed out"". They were actually simply waxed over and upon washing the car we noticed that the scratches are still very visible and must have been masked by whatever wax was used to buff the car.
In addition, since we purchased our car, the rear passenger side seat belt on the back row has malfunctioned.
Weeks after address our concerns the dealership agreed to fix the car and give us a price reduction. The car was taken in to their authorized body shop but the scratches and body work needed could not be repaired. The issue still has not been resolved and the dealership has stopped calling us back and has not done anything to fix the problem.
Let's just say at this point, we are less than pleased with our purchase. A new car should be ""new"", and we shouldn't have to endure all this frustration after having purchased one of the most expensive cars and models that Honda makes.
Don't buy from this dealership.
