Caveat emptor: Seniors Beware of Mike' s Camera 11/18/2011

Beware, this company does not stand behind the products it sells. Case-in-point: my client, an elder artist-lady, bought a $800 Epson 3000 there. Although the machine was setup correctly, the machine did not function as advertised. Mike's salesperson/technician came by charged her $70 cash and told her he could not fix it. I've been the lady-artist's computer technician for 10 years. I could not make the machine work. I called the store manager, who researched the situation and then told the artist-lady that "she" had to call Epson and make warrantee arrangements. I called Epson for her, went through the phases that were necessary to convince them to replace the machine - a courtesy which Mike's Camera should have performed for her. This elderly lady has spent nearly $5K at Mikes' in sophisticated cameras and printers. Mike's Camera could have made good by her – instead, they snubbed her and kicked her and her $800 printer to the curb. Beware of Mike's Camera more

Had Just What I Was Looking For 7/28/2011

I needed a lens to take to Africa for a photo safari, to take photos of animals from far away. I knew I wanted the Sony 70-400mm. I checked it online, and called Mike’s Camera. My neighbor is a pro photographer and shops there, he said it’s a great place. They had it, and the price was the same as Amazon. I was able to test it in the store to make sure it was right for me. The salesperson had a strange sense of humor, but knew everything about the equipment, and showed me some settings on my A55 I didn’t even know about. They were busy (it was lunchtime) and the salesperson had to help another customer at the same time, but he still managed to take great care of me. I’ll be back! more

Has it all 4/13/2006

Mike's Camera has it all for photo buffs. They stock film cameras and digital cameras alike. Unlike the staff at big box electronics stores, the people who work at Mike's are experts and know a lot about photography and all the equipment that you need for this hobby (or profession, depending on who you are). Mike's Camera even offer free classes if you buy a camera from them, so that you can learn about exposure, apertures, and all the settings that you can do to get special effects with your camera -- or just good snapshots of your family. Their photo finishing service is friendly and efficient, and you will see a real difference in your prints. It's interesting to just look around Mike's, and see what is new in the photography arena. more

A Local Camera Store for All Your Photo Needs 2/28/2006

Mike’s Camera offers a local alternative for all your photo needs, whether film or digital. I used them when I used to run errands for an employer, and I always found the Mike’s Camera employees to be very helpful. I had never seen a digital camera like my employers, so I didn’t know what kind of memory card it used, and it turned out to be a very unusual card that they had to order, but the employees were all very helpful and friendly from beginning to end. Very highly recommended! more
