Very good and Great Date Restaurant 12/8/2005

The location is dim lit which makes it kind of romantic. You get a feel that your table is the only one there too. The sushi is very good. The prices are reasonable. Love the decor, it is very elegant but trendy. Their staff is very friendly. Good parking in this strip mall. more

Consistently best Sushi in town 8/23/2005

Great ambience, the freshest sushi at a VERY good value, great cooked Japanese food, and just a great overall experience are all things I've taken for granted everytime I decide to Mikado Ryotei. The owner is on site most of the time and does a great job of remembering faces. Get the mushrooms as appetizers, the sea bass (if not the crazy-great Sushi) for dinner and end it all with the tempura icecream. If you're looking for a good Japanese restaurant, a romantic atmosphere, and very well valued sushi (cuz of the large pieces), go to Mikado now! more

amazing sushi 8/18/2005

I went here last summer, and i must say that it is the best sushi place in austin. they offer a nice modern enviroment with a really nice staff (very easy on the eyes). The appetizer i ordered (I forgot the name) tasted as good as it looked. I guess they pride presentation here, because everything i ordered looked wonderful. the sushi i had there was uncomparable. it is a bit expensive, but well worth the money. more
